Share using Mountain Lion Built-in Sharing (Version 1.11)

Recommended Posts

That's a good idea, thanks!

I've started with the service I use the most: droplr.

I'll see what I can do for dropbox :-)

Awesome! Thanks! I've noticed heaps of people using Droplr around here, so many that I decided to try it out. Back when the service launched I initially rejected it and stuck with Dropbox, but it's kind of handy if you don't want to clutter up your computer. On the other hand, with Dropbox you can update files without changing the URL. Verdict's still out.

I've tried this and while the different sharing options are available the file never attaches to the place I'm sharing to. See:

I've tried with email, messages, and a few others. At first I didn't have terminal share installed but now I do and when I try it via command line it does the same thing. I can populate text, but not images or other attachments.

That's probably because of the spaces in the file name. I'll try to fix it asap.

Strange, this is the link (http://d.pr/f/9WR4), it looks fine..

Where and when do you get PermissionDenied error?

I get to the droplr download page, click on the download link which then takes me to a completely blank page with the message "AccessDeniedAccess denied" in the top left-hand corner of the page.

I try turning off adblock just in case it was interfering somehow, but alas that didn't solve the problem. Any ideas?

EDIT: okay, it has downloaded and it's working wonderfully. It appears the culprit was was the Chrome extension HTTPS Everywhere, I've no idea why this should be so only that it is so!

Thanks for the great extension :-)

Is it possible to target one sharing option? I like to have a hotkey setup for a global tweet action. If an app doesn't have this feature I won't even consider using it. My method of using the workflow is to pick "Post on Twitter" and that brings up the system wide dialog for tweeting and then use that. Is there a way to directly connect a hotkey to the "Post on Twitter" so when I hit alt+space I get the built in system dialog?

If that's possible it'd be great.

I added what you want (hopefully). Set your hotkeys in the workflow like this:

1.9:

  • Added hotkeys to call built-in facebook, twitter, imessage and email

Since version 1.09 is not working for me, each time I run an action with the shortcut with a selected file in the Finder, it says "Sharing cancelled"… do you know what could be happening? Thanks!

Not really, can you explain a bit more in which cases it is not working? If you select the file with "File Action", is it working? If you don't share a file, is it working?

It's working now! I think that the thing that was causing trouble is that I had an old install of terminal-share that wasn't working very well and I think it was in conflict. Thanks a lot for the answer!

Ok cool, thanks for the feedback!
