zamboknee
I have Pages '09 as my main word processor. When I try to open a Pages template (using Alfred 2) that I use quite a bit, it always tells me that the template is a file that needs a newer version (Pages 5) of the program I'm running. The weird thing is that when I open this template using a shortcut program called Overflow, opens normally and into Pages '09. Why is Alfred the only program that's not letting me open this template? That's certainly an odd thing to happen. Are you a Powerpack user? If so, have you tried the "Open With..." action result action for the template and selected Overflow as the app to open with to see if it works like you expect? Alfred doesn't do anything special with it. If you were to drop to a terminal and navigate to that file then type "open filename.ext", that is the same thing that Alfred should be performing. Alfred was trying to open a DIFFERENT template that had the same name. The different template is in another location ('Documents/blah blah templates for Pages') instead of the one I need (library/application support/Pages/Templates). How do I direct it to the right location? Link to comment

How do I direct it to the right location? Could you please fill in your Powerpack email address in your profile? David can then provide you with further support with this Link to comment
zamboknee
crud. NOT power pack user. Does that mean I have to upgrade for this functionality? Link to comment
Vero
crud. NOT power pack user. Does that mean I have to upgrade for this functionality? What David suggests requires the Powerpack, as result actions (e.g. "Open with..." action) are a Powerpack-only feature. Of course, if you do upgrade to the Powerpack, you get a whole lot more goodies than just this Link to comment
