Version 2.2 (243) no longer displays apps from Xcode

Recommended Posts

Alfred's newest version doesn't seem to index files inside app packages even though I set the folder in Alfred's preferences (/Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/Platforms/iPhoneSimulator.platform/Developer/Applications).

Also, some preference panel's items are not searchable anymore.

I think it's a bug, so I'm reporting it...

Apple seems to sometimes stop recognising certain apps in this bundle (you'll find Spotlight doesn't find them either), so it's better to just use an Alfred workflow. With the Powerpack, you could use this workflow to launch those apps.

If some preference panels aren't being found, you'll want to try first resetting Alfred's search scope in the Features > Default Results preferences, then reindexing OS X from the shortcut in Alfred's Advanced prefs :)

Cheers,

Andrew

Yeah I started experiencing this since updating to 2.2.

While I agree that spotlight doesn't find it either, there was no problem before 2.2. Do additions to the Alfred search scope simply just add to the scope of the spotlight index?

I tried clearing my index and rerunning it through the reindexdel.sh. This had no effect.

That workflow is a great work around though. Thanks for that.

I also can't find Alfred Preferences with Alfred since the update. If you don't have the cog enable and don't know the command + , shortcut there are few other ways i can think of.
