Gary King
Is it possible to make a keyboard command, like typing "show", to then show a list of running apps? Then I can just arrow down to open the one I want? Link to comment
dfay
How would this differ from using command-tab? Unless I am misunderstanding something, I'd use command-tab - it's faster - a single key rather than a command and arrow keys. Link to comment

This could be possible with a workflow but you may be better served to just type a few characters and press enter to get the app you want, or, set a hotkey to launch/show the app you desire Link to comment
raguay.customct
Ted Wise's Running workflow (http://tedwise.com) works great for that. Luddite 1 Link to comment

It can be faster to use Alfred if I have a lot of apps running, like at least ten. I can definitely open Alfred and type out the first two characters of an app faster than I can cmd-tab to it. The order of apps appearing in cmd-tab are always different (based on the last opened, or something like that). Link to comment

I know this thread is a lifetime ago, but I just need to thank you for sharing that workflow. It still works great after all those years. I always have at least 6, sometimes more than 10 apps running, and my hands can longer handle that. Alan He 1 Link to comment
dfay
This is still available at https://web.archive.org/web/20140112221120/http://tedwise.com/files/Running.alfredworkflow though after playing with it, I'd recommend this instead: Edited February 27, 2021 by dfay Link to comment
