Web search not working when not already in browser

I always use Alfred for quick web searches.  However, since upgrading, I can no longer type in a query and be brought to the Google search results unless I already have the Firefox window active.

I always use Alfred for quick web searches.  However, since upgrading, I can no longer type in a query and be brought to the Google search results unless I already have the Firefox window active.

 

I've tested this using Firefox 33 on Yosemite and have no issues launching a Google search from Alfred, even when Firefox has been quit. Which version of OS X and Alfred are you using?

 

Are you referring to Alfred's default fallback Google search or a workflow/custom search you've created? 

 

Also, it may be worth checking if Firefox is still your default browser and restarting your Mac, in case OS X has got itself confused.
