How to Disable Alfred Hotkey Trigger Entirely

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I am have decided to make the jump from Quicksilver to Alfred (with Powerpack). Because I have grown so accustomed to Quicksilver over the 7+ years I have been using it, I am not quite ready to abandon Quicksilver entirely for fear of interrupting my daily workflow. I plan on learning Alfred's features and converting from Quicksilver at my own pace; thus, I'd like to run Quicksilver and Alfred simultaneously.

I typically invoke Quicksilver with ⌘+Space. I'd now like to invoke Alfred with Left ⌘+Space while leaving Right ⌘+Space open to activate Quicksilver. I have set up bindings with Karabiner, a very versatile key remapping tool, to handle the remappings, but I cannot seem to set the Alfred hotkey to null, i.e. disable it entirely.

So my question is: Is it possible to disable Alfred's hotkey trigger, and if so, how?

Thanks,

Kelly

Alfred's main hotkey is the only one you cannot actually disable, as it is intrinsic to Alfred's operation.

For other hotkeys, you can select the field and press backspace to clear out the hotkey.

Thanks for the definitive answer. I will make due by setting the activation to an obscure comination I hope to never use, some like ⌘⌥⇧+.
