Hello,

I have an iMac (Early 2014) and a MacBook (late 2008 - the last white one).

Now I habe some problems with my Remote. It looks like, I only can use my iMac with the Remote.

The Remote Server is enabled on both Macs and I can add my iOS devices (iPad Air and iPhone 4) without any problems, but if I will change the connected Mac on the iOS device, I only get an connection to the Mac the Remote device was connected too first.

If I want to conntect to the other Mac, I'll get the message "Disconnected - Unable to verify receipt, please re-download Alfred Remote from App Store"

If I delete the Alfred Remote and download it again from the App Store, I can add the iOS device again to both Macs without any problems, but I can only use it with the Mac, which was added first.

Trying to connect to the second Mac will cause the message shown above.

Do I have to use/buy a family license? I'm a little bit confused.

Thanks for the help.

You don't need a family license... there may be another issue which is getting Alfred Remote to report this when trying to connect.

Could you check if it's just one of the Macs it won't reconnect to (i.e. it will always reconnect to the 2014 iMac, but not the 2008 MacBook)?

Hi,

at the momnet my iPhone is connected to the MacBook an d my iPad is connected to the iMac. I rebooted my iPad and was able to connect it with the MacBook too, I also was able to add the iPad to the iMac, but after switching back to the MacBook I couldn't reconnect with the iMac.

I rebooted the iPad again an connected it at first with the iMac and afterwards with the MacBook. But after switching to the iMac, I could not reconnect with the MacBook.

Same on the iPhone.

After adding the remote to the computer, it works fantastic as long as I don't switch.

I've read through your post a few times, but as I'm unclear on the steps you are taking. Could you please follow the steps below and let me know the outcome?

With your MacBook and your iMac within reach:

1. Using your iPhone, connect your Remote to your MacBook.

2. On your iPhone, now click "Connections" in the top left of your Remote.

3. You should now see both of your Macs. If you've already previously set up your iMac to connect to it, you should see both Macs in white and be able to tap your iMac to switch to it.

There should be no need to restart/reboot your devices to switch from connecting to one Mac to another.

Let me know how you get on :)

I was trying to say, that I did exactly what you told me to do, several times. But it just won't work...

The only Mac I can connect with, after I have added both, is the one I set up first. When trying to switch to the other, the screen always reads 'disconnected'...

Even if I reboot my Phone, I still can only connect to one Mac, namely the I connected first with.

Same with iPad.

Could you please pop an email to info@alfredapp com? We'll get some more details and try to work out what's happening :)

  • 2 weeks later...

I'm seeing the same issue after installing Alfred on my Mini.

My Pro and Mini both show on the Alfred Remote page, but when I click on the Mini icon is says "Disconnected" and bottom centre says "Unable to verify receipt, please re-download Alfred Remote from the App Store"

FYI I did a IOS 8.3 update on my iPad and OS X 10.10.3 on my Mini about 30 mins ago, just tried my iPhone too and its the same.

Just like freakmac5 the Pro that I did the initial install on works fine.

I'm seeing the same issue -- I have Alfred on my Mac Mini and on my MacBook Pro, and I can get Alfred Remote to work with either one, but after I add a second one, one of them will usually complain "Unable to verify receipt". I redownloaded Alfred Remote once to see if it would solve it, but it didn't.

If you could update to the 2.7 pre-release (from Alfred's update preferences, select pre-release at the bottom), this connection issue should now be sorted!

Let me know how you get on :)

Cheers,

Andrew

I tried the the pre-release 2.7 and I'm the same issue. In my case I have an iMac Mid-2011 with Yosemite 10.10.3 and a Macbook Mid-2014 with Yosemite 10.10.3.

I connected first the Macbook and then iMac. I can connect and reconnect the Macbook without problems, but iMac I can't.

What I can see, like a common in the first case and mine, the issue is with old Mac's. The freakman5 case was and late 2008 Macbook and my case is an iMac mid-2011.

Ah sorry about this, I made the fixes / changes based on a sandbox receipt instead of the live store receipt. Would you mind updating to 2.7 pre-release b385 and trying again.

Cheers,

Andrew
