Files excluded from SpotLight appearing in the App list

Recommended Posts

Hello guys,

I recently upgraded to Yosemite and for some reason I didn't have this issue with Moutain Lion. Anyway here is the issue.

I have excluded from SpotLight (using the Confidentiality tab) my VMWare Virtual Machines, but when I use alfred to search/launch "monitor" (to launch the activity monitor)... I still get lots of entries of programs hosted inside the Virtual Machines...

Any idea why is Alfred still showing this ? Isn't Alfred using Spotlight ?

Cheers,

Have you typed "reload" into Alfred? This will refresh the application cache, rather than wait for it to refresh by itself. Applications, unlike other file types, are cached to make search even faster.

Let me know how you get on :)

Here is the output :

And as you can see it is still displayed when using Alfred when accessing the "Monitor" (activity monitor) :

Cheers,

Alfred shouldn't be listing com.vmware.vm-package in the default results... how do you have Alfred's default results setup under Features > Default Results for file types.

Also, could I get a screenshot of the Spotlight Privacy prefs?
