Noob needs help with loading a workflow download

I'm trying to understand workflows and I have no idea how to create them. I used to be good at stuff like this but I'm finding it difficult to understand how it works. Is there some visual training on how to create a work flow? And how do I "hook up" a downloaded workflow that someone else created?

First off, you can only use/make workflows if you have the Alfred Powerpack.
 
If you've downloaded a workflow, it should normally be a single file with the extension .alfredworkflow. Double-click the file in Finder, and Alfred will install it.

 

If you've downloaded a GitHub repo and just have a folder, find the folder that contains the info.plist file and zip it (i.e. right-click in Finder and select Compress "XXX"). Rename the resulting zip file, replacing the .zip extension with .alfredworkflow, and then double-click it to install as above.
 
You can create a workflow by pressing the + button at the bottom of the Workflows list in Alfred Preferences. There are several example workflows included.
 
There are also plenty of good tutorials on building workflows.
