Application searching in El Capitan

I am not able to search for and open applications.  I am on El Capitan build 15A262e and Alfred 2.7.2.  Here are two screenshots of my app folder and the results when searching.

Just to cover all the bases: have you already tried the suggestions in Troubleshooting Indexing Issues? If you haven't tried them all, which ones have you already attempted?

Yeah I tried all of those, but the weird thing is that Spotlight doesn't find anything when I search for anything.  Not sure if that is related to how/what Alfred works.  I did do the reindexing and that didn't seem to help either.

Also this is the output when i try the "rebuild metadata"

Spotlight server is disabled.

EDIT 2:

Ok so final edit ( Sorry ) It seems somehow spotlight stopped on my computer (not sure how) and i restarted the spotlight server with

cd /System/Library/LaunchDaemons
sudo launchctl load -w com.apple.metadata.mds.plist

And now it is back to working.
