New file types

Hi, everybody,

 

I am trying to set file types in "file filter from keyword and open".

It works fine for word and excel, but not for Igor Pro, which is a software for data analysis.

How can I define new file types in Alfred?

You just need to drag and drop an Igor Pro file into the File Types box.

I have tried to drag and drop an Igor Pro file into the File Types box.

It shows weird string "dyn.ah62d4rv4ge81a8du". And it does not work.

 

For other files (e.g. word), it shows "org.openxmlformats.wordprocessin..."

I am afraid that the file types box does not recognize Igor Pro files.

Try renaming your Igor Pro file. This should cause Spotlight to re-import it. Then drag it to the File Types box again.
 
If you still get "dyn.XXXXX", then it looks like the filetype hasn't been registered. You can re-register apps, rebuild and dump the filetypes with lsregister.
