Hello.

I am looking for a very straightforward way to share online screen captures from the clipboard.

Imgur let us paste our clipboard to its site window. That is fine. But what about to do it with shortcuts ?

Wouldn't it be great via Alfred ?

Thank you

I'll move this to the Workflow Help & Questions as I'm not familiar with Imgur, but it may be something you can achieve with a workflow :)

Cheers,

Vero

Just to make sure this isn’t an XY problem, what exactly would you want?

Do you really want to share images from your clipboard to imgur or would you like to have a shortcut that takes a screenshot and immediately uploads it to imgur, without saving it to your Desktop?

I ask because if what you want is the latter, I have a workflow that I’ve built many months ago that does exactly that, and works pretty well. It lacks some polish in certain areas and I never got around to finishing that which is why I never shared it, but if that’s what you need, I can finish it or just send you the incomplete version in the meantime.

Hello.

Thank you Vero.

Thank you Vítor.

You are right, I should think a little bit more to figure out what would be the exact process I would like. Plus, I am not sure I will use it often.

Actually, when I want to communicate with a software developer team or a forum to ask help (and Internet languages, etc.) I use to describe the issue with words and images. Good feedbacks require this often, isn't it ? :)

If I communicate with the team by email, it's easy. I type, capture portions of the screen to illustrate the steps one by one if necessary, paste them in the e-mail, continue to type, etc. If I want to annotate the images, I use Skitch or Apple Preview.app. Until all the steps to reproduce the issue are described and illustrated. Cool.

But… when I have to do this on a web forum… that's no small matter ! :( See what I mean ? ;) Sometimes I keep the same process than by e-mail. I use Word or Evernote, or whatever and when the whole explanation seems comprehensible, I copy the text, paste it to a new topic in the web forum, then copy images one by one (or capture them once again) and upload them to an online image sharing web service. Imgur is smart because it spares us to create the image files locally.

You know, it is not that I do this every day. And today, I have found this app: img.urls on the Mac app store :) Very neat.
