  1. Macro expansion other than {query} doesn’t work in any Command or Script boxes. Anywhere you’d insert code or commands to be run, basically. Insert an Arg & Vars utility before your Terminal Command and compose the command in there, then just put {query} in the Terminal Command.

  2. It's already possible to call any API from Alfred. Whether Alfred will be able to call Shortcuts depends on Shortcuts more than Alfred.

  3. Hi. I'm looking to replace TextExpander because the no-cloud version is no longer maintained. I have a bunch of snippets that contain %key:enter% - TextExpander will press return for me. Is there any way to do this in Alfred? (I'm new to Alfred) Thanks.

  4. First download and install the updated version of this workflow (I've added an External Trigger). Then open the Firefox workflow’s script directory (ffass > Open Scripts Directory) and use Script Editor to save this AppleScript in it (call it “Search Site” or similar): on run (argv) set _url to first item of argv tell application id "com.runningwithcrayons.Alfred" to run trigger "search-site" in workflow "net.deanishe.alfred.demo.universal-google" with argument _url end run Now you should have a new "Search Site" action available in the tab actions and bookmark/history search in the Firefox workflow. You can assign it a Hotkey by adding one to the workflow similar to the example ones.

  5. Awesome. I've added the change to the official version, so the next update won't break your setup.

  6. Search for emoji and copy them to the clipboard ?. Download v1.8.1 (2019-09-27) Usage: emoji [query] Press [return] (↵): Copy the symbol of the selected emoji (e.g. ?) to your clipboard. Press [alt]+[return] (⌥↵): Copy the code of the selected emoji (e.g. ``) to your clipboard. Press [cmd]+[return] (⌘↵): Paste the code of the selected emoji (e.g. ?) to your frontmost application. Automatic Updates: This workflow will automatically check for updates at most once per day. If a new release is found, it automatically downloads and installs the latest version of the workflow. All downloads come directly from official GitHub releases. Optional Hotkey and Snippet Triggers: Customize the workflow with either a custom hotkey or a custom snippet. 7. The new snippet feature is great. Would be even greater to have fill-ins in snippets. Especially since Text-expander has become very expensive; this will be the perfect textexpander replacer!

  8. Gotta throw my +1 in here. This is the only reason I am keeping TextExpander on my machine. (and the fact that it can run javascript snippets, but that's something I don't use as much). Thanks for your consideration.
