  1. Thought I'd share this very simple File Filter workflow, which allows you to search for Safari History items. This is a much tidier way to search for browser history than adding the file type to default results The workflow uses the keyword "sh" followed by the name or URL of the Safari history item. Download the Safari History workflow [Note: This workflow is only suitable for macOS Sierra and below, as High Sierra has removed the ability to show results from Safari's Bookmarks and History.] Cheers, Vero
  2. @politicus If that first "A" that remains is part of your keyword, it's likely that you either need to slow down key events (giving your Mac a fraction of a second longer to delete the keyword before pasting the snippet) or check for interfering apps that may also be trying to manipulate text. More details here: https://www.alfredapp.com/help/troubleshooting/snippets/#partial Let me know how you get on Cheers, Vero
  3. I'm just popping my head into this thread to let you all know that in the next Alfred release (3.4), there'll be date arithmetics added to snippets, making it possible to calculate dates (e.g. {date +7d +3h:long} to paste the date seven days and three hours from now in long format) While @deanishe is very generous with his time, this might be a case where it's worth waiting til the next pre-release - of course, unless Dean fancies adding that to the workflow as well, as it's a convenient way to add these on the fly! Cheers, Vero
  4. Sorry for my silly question but… Where can I do that? Sorry, in my haste to reply, I meant a hotkey - which you've already found, clearly! If you'd like that text to be bolder, go to the Appearance tab, duplicate the Frosty Teal theme and make the text for secondary results more opaque. Cheers, Vero
  5. @Mickey Tee Alfred is reliant on your network, so if there were any changes to your home or office network, these will affect Alfred's ability to connect to your Mac. Glad you're all sorted though Cheers, Vero
  6. @PhilIcare To see your snippets in a list, as well as the keyword and preview, either go via the clipboard viewer (Cmd + Alt + C by default) or set up a keyword hotkey for the Snippets Viewer in the preferences. You'll then see the list on the left, the preview on the right, as well as the keyword and word/character count at the bottom. Cheers, Vero
  7. Hi @shineability and welcome to the forum You should be able to use List Filter objects to do this: https://www.alfredapp.com/help/workflows/inputs/list-filter/ There are a few example workflows built into Alfred worth taking a look at if you'd like to use this object, such as the Simple To-Do List workflow, which should help you get started. Cheers, Vero
  8. @Mickey Tee Welcome to the forum! Are you suggesting that you set up Direct Connection for a laptop, then used the same laptop in a different location? In that case, that's correct, the IP address and direct connection setup won't match in the second location; It's the same Mac and iPhone, but the Direct Connection will refer to your home location. You'll therefore need to use the standard setup over wifi, which is more flexible to you switching network. If you are referring to two separate Macs where you encountered the issue, did you try deleting the connection and starting fresh? If there are any issues with the connection, setting it up again should clear things up. Cheers, Vero
  9. Hi guys, thanks for helping each other out so nicely With regards to language-specific forum sections, that's not something we'll be doing anytime soon; While there are a number of active French-speaking users (myself included) on the forum, we also have users from all around the world, speaking numerous languages. Segregating everyone into language-specific sections would make it much harder for us (and for very helpful and knowledgeable community members - like @vitor @deanishe @dfay to name just a few) to provide help, given we each only speak a few languages. It also means that other users can't benefit from the helpful answer, due to the language barrier. Instead, let's keep everyone together, but just be patient with each other if there's a miscommunication caused by language. If someone's *really* stuck and has to post in their native language, I'm sure a fellow user will help translate a question along the way. Cheers, Vero
  10. @quikatb The file type and the search scope would both be required, but I'd recommend against it. It's likely to make your results unnecessarily noisy if there are more than a few notes in there. Cheers, Vero
  11. Hi @roguetash - Welcome to the forum! Date arithmetics is coming to snippets in the next release I can't say exactly when this will happen, but if you're interested in having a play, I'd suggest switching to pre-releases in the Update tab, and looking out for the next updates. Details will be in the change log, and documentation will go live once the feature goes to general release. Cheers, Vero
  12. @quikatb Hi Tim, Apologies for the slow response on this post! Seems I've missed this one. I've got a workflow that's ideal for searching for Notes on your Mac: https://www.dropbox.com/s/j6wbatzyd42m780/Search Notes on your Mac.alfredworkflow?dl=0 The file type (com.apple.notes.externalrecord) isn't included in default results. Depending on how much content is stored in your Notes, a workflow ensures that notes are only searched when relevant and don't clutter up your default results. Simply type "notes" followed by keywords included in the title or content of your note, and you'll see the results appear Cheers, Vero
  13. @kasiake Welcome to the forum Workflows are part of the Powerpack, so first could you please fill in your Powerpack email address in your forum profile? This is only visible to administrators, but allows us to confirm your Powerpack status first. We'll then be happy to help you out with your workflow project. Cheers, Vero
  14. Hi @Mehdi, You can type "youtube" followed by your keyword directly into Alfred, press return and your default browser will be launched with the YouTube results. Also worth taking a look at the "Should I watch this movie?" workflow example built into Alfred, as it gives you a few ideas on how you can search for movies, including using the built-in YouTube default search Some fun ways to build upon your existing workflow, if you fancy it! Cheers, Vero
  15. @rightx2 This is the best place to start: https://www.alfredapp.com/help/troubleshooting/indexing/ If the same file, in the same location sometimes shows and sometimes doesn't, then it's indeed likely to be an indexing related issue. If you're referring to some files showing but others not, it could be down to search scope or file types, so the indexing troubleshooting documentation should help you out If it still doesn't work, be sure to provide more details about the files, their location, whether Spotlight finds them, etc so that we can help you further. Cheers, Vero
  16. @JasonMark Looks like Dean's responded to your questions, but I wanted to add that you'll find many guides and tutorials on the Alfred site as well. We tend to create written guides rather than videos, as they're easier to update when Alfred gets new features, and are easier to scan visually when you only need one or two bits of information You'll find them here: https://www.alfredapp.com/help/guides-and-tutorials/ With any of Alfred's features, you can click on the question mark icon in the corner of any of the preferences tabs and you'll be taken to the relevant help page. Cheers, Vero
  17. @Misha As I replied to @DerNils a few months ago, if it can be set as default Finder replacement in macOS, you'll be able to use it instead of Finder. For example, I'm aware of some users who choose PathFinder as an alternative to Finder, so that when Alfred instructs your OS to open a given folder, it opens in the alternative app. (This isn't an endorsement of PathFinder, and I'm not sure whether it's still fully supported on current OS versions.) You may need to experiment to see if it's possible to set it as default - though from the OP's comments, it may not be. Cheers, Vero
  18. @ssylviageo There are quite a few improvements and additions coming to snippets in the next Alfred updates, so keep an eye out on the pre-releases for things like this Cheers, Vero
  19. @Jay Just to let you know, Alfred supports native macOS emacs bindings (e.g. ctrl + n and ctrl + p to navigate down/up)
  20. @dunkaroo Replied to your email as soon as I woke up - you should be all sorted now Cheers, Vero
  21. Hi @i05 and welcome to the forum! While there's no command to add a new snippet at this time, keep in mind that you can press Cmd + S on a clipboard history item to save it as a snippet. In other words, copy the text you want to your clipboard, press Cmd + S and it'll bring up the Snippets preferences with the text pre-filled for a new snippet. Cheers, Vero
  22. @zhoujl Unlikely, as there's no support for AppleScript in Spark, as per this conversation thread. Might be worth getting in touch with Spark, letting them know you're interested in AppleScript support. Cheers, Vero
  23. @Darrarski Glad it's all working for you now. Alfred Remote will do its best to connect, but is dependent on the network connection between your Mac and iOS device working smoothly. Cheers, Vero
  24. @Darrarski Welcome to the forum! Have you successfully connected your Remote before or is this the first time you set it up? Cheers, Vero
  25. @ihodes Welcome to the forum! It depends how Things.app classifies its files as to whether they'll be easy to exclude. Try the following: Locate a Things.app file in "find", press the right arrow and choose "Copy path to clipboard". You can then pop Alfred back up and type ">mdls" and paste in the path you just copied. This will result in Terminal launching and outputting the metadata for the file. Copy the results of the Terminal output here and we'll take a look at what content types are used. As you're a Powerpack user, don't forget that you have access to the power of file filters, which are often a better way to search than using the "find" and "open" keywords as they're completely customisable filters. You can create them to search in specific scopes (e.g. only Work related folders) or for specific file types (e.g. only PDFs or images). You can find out more about file filters here: https://www.alfredapp.com/help/workflows/inputs/file-filter/ Let me know how you get on and I'll be happy to help you further Cheers, Vero
