  1. @lebonk5 @deanishe Alfred will present recent documents for anything opened in Alfred plus anything made available by the app. Most native Cocoa apps provide the recent documents (regardless of how they've been opened) so Alfred will present all recent docs, but non-native apps like Microsoft or Adobe apps don't tend to so you'll only get those opened with Alfred. Cheers, Vero
  2. @dukevannori Take a look at the preferences under Features > Contacts. There's a checkbox to show Notes, and under advanced, also a checkbox to show title (Mr, Mrs, etc..) and job title. Cheers, Vero
  3. @lentaro Alfred's Contacts search doesn't include address details, as this would make your results significantly noisier. However, for fun, I had a look at what metadata is provided in a contact card to see whether searching by address is possible so that I could create a File Filter workflow for you. Unfortunately, the address details are simply not exposed as metadata. The card metadata provides the name, email address, country and a few other bits of data, but no part of the actual address. If you're curious to see for yourself, here's how you can perform an mdls on a contact: https://www.alfredapp.com/help/troubleshooting/indexing/mdls/ Cheers, Vero
  4. @desertman First, please quit Alfred, and reinstall it, making sure you've downloaded Alfred from https://www.alfredapp.com and not from a third-party source. Cheers, Vero
  5. @dschmuck Hi there, welcome to the forum! It looks like you may have two separate issues, so I'll explain how you can troubleshoot them separately: Clipboard history You may be encountering some corruption to the clipboard history database on your Mac. You can type "clear" into Alfred and choose the "Clear clipboard history" option. This will re-create the Alfred Clipboard History from fresh, removing any permissions issues in the process. You will lose any existing clipboard history, but should be able to start with a fresh, functional slate Snippets Do you sync your Alfred preferences? If so, it's possible that this is the cause of your snippets issue. First, launch Alfred's preferences to the Advanced tab and check whether your sync folder is still correctly set. Assuming you're using Dropbox for syncing, do you use more than one Mac? Have you set one of them up recently? If so, it's possible that there has been a file conflict. You can recover your Alfred.alfredpreferences file from an older backup (e.g. Time Machine), but let me know if this scenario rings true and I can provide more details. Cheers, Vero
  6. @nikivi The contents of packages (such as Alfred's preferences file and much of the contents of ~/Library/) aren't usually indexed by OS X, so won't be provided to Alfred to include into results.
  7. @skillet Did you follow any of the instructions I provided to refresh your index? And can you show me how it shows Droplr in Alfred when you type "drop"?
  8. @skillet Deanishe hinted at the two key possibilities to start from. First, the possibility that the app IS in your results but your results are overwhelmed with too many other results: If the app appears when you type "droplr" in full or any part thereof, then the app CAN be found. Start by taking a look at your Default Results and narrowing them to include these file types (or even temporarily exclude Folders if they're cluttering your results at this point) Search for Droplr with "dr"; Can you see it in results now? You can re-add the file types you need, but I'd recommend keeping your default results pretty clean, and using the "open" keyword (or pressing the spacebar as shortcut) to search broader file types. Second, if with the settings above, the app never shows in your results, it may not be indexed correctly by OS X, and is therefore not returned as a result to Alfred. You can either: Perform a full reindex of your Mac if you find that you've encountered any other indexing issues by going to Alfred's Advanced preferences and follow the instructions when clicking the "Rebuild OS X Metadata" button. This can take up to an hour, but will refresh the full index on your Mac, or; Launch Spotlight to its "Privacy" tab, drag Droplr in, wait a few seconds, remove it from the privacy tab, then give OS X a minute or two to reindex it. In both instances, please type "reload" into Alfred when the indexing is completed. This will ensure Alfred refreshes his application cache. Let me know how you get on Cheers, Vero
  9. @sinisa In answer to your suggestions: You can delete single items with Fn + Backspace This isn't planned, as the clipboard is intended to retain things you've copied, not to be an editor itself. Simply paste what you want to modify, and copy it again when you're done making changes. This is very much intentional, as the clipboard database could get much too large (as everyone likes turning the volume up to 11, users would set their clipboard to infinity even if it's not necessary, and wonder why the clipboard database becomes so unwieldy) As soon as an item is used or copied again within the three months period, its timestamp is updated and becomes available for a further three months. If you need access to something for a longer period, it may be worth creating a snippet for it. To do this, select an item in your clipboard history and press Cmd + S to save it as a snippet. You'll be able to give it a name, a keyword and assign it to a category. Cheers, Vero
  10. @ileitch With the language set to "Default" in the dropdown menu, do you not see any results when typing, for example, "spell mouse"? In both Alfred 2 and 3, this should work perfectly fine in Sierra, so there may be some corruption in your Dictionary itself. If you launch the Dictionary app, which languages appear at the top of your window? And can you search for any word and get the definition/spelling appear there? Let me know and I'll see if I can help further, but this feature should work normally Cheers, Vero
  11. @willbraden and @awaldraff Could you give one particular example, as suggested by @FroZen_X? Perhaps include a link to the workflow? Some workflows simply need a little update to say they refer to Alfred 3 instead of Alfred 2, while others may be relying on deprecated APIs or sources to present results. The more details you can provide, the easier it will be for us to help but broadly, workflows from Alfred 2 will work just fine in Alfred 3 without any changes. Cheers, Vero
  12. @thailoving Could you please install the workflow I've created and see if this allows you to find the results you're expecting? Search for your Safari Bookmarks The simple workflow is a file filter with the keyword "bm" that looks at the ~/Library/Caches/Metadata/Safari/Bookmarks directory and opens your selected result in your default browser. Let me know how you get on with this Cheers, Vero
  13. @thailoving In Alfred's Features > Default Results preferences, can you check that "Bookmarks" are ticked as a file type to include, as per the screenshot? Cheers, Vero
  14. @John D. Han It isn't possible to only activate auto-expansion in certain languages. However, if you set your snippet keywords carefully, they should never interfere with your use of other languages on your Mac. For example: Use non-word keywords to avoid unexpected expansion; Don't use the keyword date to paste the date, otherwise every time you try to type it's a date!, you'll find yourself saying it's a 01/06/16! as your snippet auto-expands. Start all your snippets with the same non-alphanumeric character, such as an exclamation mark, colon or semi-colon. (e.g. !office) Use unusual capitalisation (Alfred will respect the capitalisation you set, e.g. officE) Use double characters (e.g. ttime) Personally, I start quite a few of my snippet keywords with the exclamation mark. Hope this helps Cheers, Vero
  15. @Francis I've been playing with this for quite some time, and I've worked out that, if you start the drag slowly, it'll always select the correct file. However, if you grab an item at high speed downwards, it can occasionally select the item below it. I'm moving this to the Bug Reports section, so that Andrew can look at making this more robust for the next release. In the meantime, if you drag very slightly slower out of Alfred's results, you won't encounter the issue Cheers, Vero
  16. @thailoving & @scottrych This could be caused by a delay in building up the Safari cache. I would suggest deleting the Safari cache, so that it's rebuilt from fresh. To do this, delete this folder: ~/Library/Caches/Metadata/Safari/Bookmarks Next, restart Safari. Within a minute or so, you should see a new folder be created, and within another minute or two, the bookmarks cache should be fully rebuilt Let me know how you get on. Cheers, Vero
  17. @brady1014 Could you please clarify what you're referring to when saying you double-click into Alfred instead of the search box? If it allows you to explain more easily, include some screenshots and I'll then be happy to help you out Cheers, Vero
  18. @hamid914 Welcome to the forum! Please fill in your Powerpack email address in your forum profile, as workflows are part of the Powerpack features for registered users. Cheers, Vero
  19. @@Barrierfreeman Glad you're all sorted! The debugger is a great way to identify what's happening to a workflow you've either imported or created yourself. Just for future reference, @vitor was suggesting re-installing the workflow, not Alfred as a whole. You can do this quickly by right-clicking on a workflow name in the left sidebar, choosing "Delete" and re-downloading the latest version of the workflow. Only takes a moment and is very non-destructive of your Alfred preferences otherwise. Beware, he often is Cheers, Vero
  20. @Barrierfreeman Could you give an example of the ones that aren't working for you that you're expecting to see? The workflow creator states that "The workflow only list the Apps installed on you mac." so you may not see the full list from his screenshot if you don't have all of these apps/browsers installed. Any further details will allow us and fellow users to help you tweak the workflow if needed Cheers, Vero
  21. Hi all, I'm popping this post as follow-up to a few users who have said that the workflow isn't working for them. Please ensure you're using the correct version of Evernote for the version of Alfred you have installed, as the workflow relies on Evernote storing the data in the correct location to be able to present your results to you. Refer to the first post for a download link and required version details, as @Carlos-Sz updates this as the workflow and Evernote itself evolve. If you've ensured you're using the correct version, please include in your replies which version of Alfred, which version of Evernote you're using, ensuring that it's Evernote from the website and not from the Mac App Store. This will help the workflow creator out significantly, and might allow me to help you out, as this is a workflow I love too!
  22. @jackbrannen Yes, create a workflow with the following: Then, set your keyword as follows, making sure you set it to "no argument" as there's no argument required in this case. In the Open File, drag in the folder or file you need to launch. You can then launch using the keyword "di" - though do note that it's a keyword that matches a huge number of results, so it may take selecting it once from further down the list before it gets prioritised above the default OS X results. Of course, within that workflow, you could repeat that for any other files you need to launch by keyword, so no need to create separate workflows for each one. Cheers, Vero
  23. I got a reply from @iwamon stating: So all is well
  24. @andreasl It's not necessary to sync your preferences if you only have one Mac, but it's a convenient way to keep a backup of your preferences. We don't recommend using iCloud for preferences syncing. While some users set iCloud as their syncing mechanism, it's very slow in comparison to Dropbox which nearly live-updates your preferences from one Mac to the other. As such, there's a much higher likelihood of file conflict issues with iCloud. Cheers, Vero
  25. @meiotic_Drive Let us know how you get on once you've completed the reindex. I'll provide a tool to look at individual items' metadata if it still doesn't work.
