  1. @UA Mike This means that the issue is outside of Google Drive. If you don't restart your Mac, and simply quit and relaunch Alfred, do you get any preferences startup error? I assume that you won't, as the location of your preferences is already accessible. Next, could you please follow these instructions to reset the sync location to defaults? https://www.alfredapp.com/help/advanced/sync/disable-sync/ This will cause Alfred to use the default preferences in ~/Library/Application Support/Alfred/ which may still not tell us much if this is also stored on your 2TB New NVME drive. Is this drive your Mac's internal one? Plugged by USB-C or otherwise?
  2. @UA Mike On your second Mac, could you please follow these steps: - Copy the Alfred.alfred preferences from your sync location to a folder you name Alfred in your home directory (/Users/michael/Alfred/) - Go to Alfred's Advanced preferences and set the above as your sync location - Restart your Mac and see if everything launches as expected Are the contents of your preferences complete? Did you get any error message on startup? This will help establish if the preferences are at fault, or the Google Drive location. If it's the GD location, it's possible that your prefs folder isn't really set to be available offline: You may want to try setting the folder in which you store your preferences to be online then offline again, just in case Google Drive isn't respecting your settings.
  3. @Fbed Welcome to the forum These results are sorted by relevance; This usually means the files you opened most recently, either in Alfred or macOS. You can read more about Alfred's result ordering here: https://www.alfredapp.com/help/kb/understanding-result-ordering/ If you'd like to specify the ordering, I would suggest creating a File Filter workflow, where you can sort by last modified, last opened or Alfred's accumulated knowledge about your usage.
  4. @yinan Thanks for the additional information, I really appreciate your prompt response We'll be investigating this further.
  5. @UA Mike Thanks for giving some details on the issue you're seeing. Taking a look at your first screenshot, am I correct to assume that your "2TB New NVME" drive is an external drive? If so, that's not an appropriate location for your preferences. External drives take time to connect and mount at startup so will not be available quickly enough at startup. Set the preferences to a location that is available at startup, not thereafter, and see whether the error goes away. Let me know how you get on
  6. @yinan What is your screen configuration? Are you working directly on your laptop screen or are you connected to one or more external screens? Also, could you please confirm which Alfred theme you're using? We are on the same Sonoma build, and have been unable to replicate this. We're very keen to work out in what scenario this quirk can be seen, so any additional information about your configuration would be helpful.
  7. @godbout The macOS Universal clipboard is intended to be used to copy an item on one device, then paste on another. Alfred's Clipboard History feature is 100% locally stored and won't be synced between your Macs by design. Could you clarify what is / isn't working for you? When copying items on your Mac, are they being added to Alfred's Clipboard Viewer? Or are you having issues pasting from the clipboard? If you can provide more details, including which version of macOS you're using, I'll help you troubleshoot Cheers, Vero
  8. @RusselFredson These file types are excluded from default results intentionally. If you're new to searching with Alfred, I'd recommend taking a look at this page, which will show you what keywords you can use to make a broader search using the "open" keyword (or spacebar shortcut): https://www.alfredapp.com/help/features/file-search/#file-search It's up to you whether you include documents and text files in your default results, but I'd suggest using the above instead, which keeps your default results tidier, allowing you to quickly launch apps, workflows and other more important actions
  9. @Jun Oh Take a look at this workflow if you'd like to be able to see your Chrome tabs: https://alfred.app/workflows/epilande/browser-tabs/
  10. @paulw Could you try slowing down key events in Alfred's Snippets preferences? It may be that Orion is a slower browser, and needs more time between actions. To do this, open your Alfred prefs > Features > Snippets > Auto-Expansion Options > Tweaking > Simulated key event speed. Set it to the slowest speed and see if the keyword is fully removed. If it is, speed up the key events until you get to a timing that still works for Orion without necessarily being the slowest. Let me know how you get on It might be worth adding this note to the Orion bug report if it sorts things out for you.
  11. @RusselFredson Welcome to the forum. MacOS 10.13 High Sierra doesn't have a Full Disk Access option, as Apple added it in a later version of macOS. The full disk is accessible by default in this version.
  12. @0xBlizzard Welcome to the forum Are you using Alfred's core version, which is free, or the Powerpack? The additional features (all colours aside from purple) are part of the Powerpack: In turquoise, Snippets Text Expansion: https://www.alfredapp.com/help/features/snippets/ In orange, Clipboard History: https://www.alfredapp.com/help/features/clipboard/ In pink, File Navigation: https://www.alfredapp.com/help/features/file-search/#file-nav In yellow, Universal Actions: https://www.alfredapp.com/help/features/universal-actions/ In red, the Music Mini Player: https://www.alfredapp.com/help/features/itunes/ In blue, Alfred Remote: https://www.alfredapp.com/remote/ In green, Hotkeys: https://www.alfredapp.com/help/workflows/triggers/hotkey/ Hope this helps you discover Alfred's features!
  13. @kii Could you please download this workflow and see what behaviour you get? https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/wh6v65roonuzx9a14jdex/File-Filtering-for-Japanese.alfredworkflow?rlkey=19j4zvcleon7gpy3x2ii7b8zb&dl=0 I've created a folder named exactly the same as yours, and don't seem to have any issue finding the folder, so let me know if that workflow works for you too.
  14. When you say your snippets will not save, could you be more specific? Do you see an error message, or do you hit save and the snippet doesn't appear in the collection? Could you please provide your Diagnostics file from each Mac, which you can get by typing "?diagnostics" into Alfred? You can then email your diagnostics to our info@ email address and include a link back to this thread, so that I know which conversation it relates to.
  15. @kii Welcome to the forum! You have much more control over file search when using a File Filter, which you can connect to an Open File object. The fields configuration below will allow you to find the results you need: Remove kMDItemFinderComment Uncheck "Words" Uncheck "Anchor search" at the bottom Let me know how you get on
  16. @Ndameanatom INJAI Are you able to import any of the collections linked here? https://www.alfredapp.com/extras/snippets/ Which version of Alfred are you using, and which one are your colleagues using? Once again, if your colleague can please email the collection, I can take a look. Could you also provide your Diagnostics file, which you can get by typing "?diagnostics" into Alfred? You can email it to our info@ address with a link to this thread. Without sufficient information, all I can do is blindly try to make suggestions, which is inefficient.
  17. @Briscoe In that case, instead of using pre-fabs, create a full workflow and a category for all your Templates. The workflow can either be enabled to be used, or disabled, so it's just there as a reference to be copied later. You can then duplicate it by right-clicking it when you need to make a new fully-configured workflow based on it.
  18. @Nika Please use the indexing troubleshooting tool, and provide file troubleshooting outputs from a few files so that we can help you further: https://www.alfredapp.com/help/troubleshooting/indexing/ Let us know exactly what you're typing into Alfred as well.
  19. Little nudge to @sepulchra, @pixelgeek, @BenjaminO and anyone else who was originally answered in taking part in this I'm hoping to put a first post together this month, so looking forward to your contributions. You can DM me your answers if you prefer!
  20. @mazerunner Looks like you have a workflow called "Simple PDF Search" where you've made the keyword a single "p". Disable this workflow, and you shouldn't see PDFs appear in those results. You can then change the keyword to be something a little longer and clearer.
  21. @mazerunner Could you email your Diagnostics file to our info@ address? You can get to it by typing "?diagnostics" into Alfred.
  22. @MDR Could you please provide your Diagnostics file, which you can get by typing "?diagnostics" into Alfred? You can email them to our info@ address, which will allow me to take a look at your configuration and help you further
  23. @Briscoe It's not possible to add your own templates to that menu. As suggested by @Stephen_C, you can create prefabs, which are sets of objects and can be as large as a complete workflow, if that's what would be most useful to you afterwards. Here's more information on creating prefabs: https://www.alfredapp.com/help/workflows/getting-started/editor-and-palette/#palette Your list of prefabs will then be visible in the palette on the right of the workflow canvas, with a title and description: You can add them to your workflow with the same shortcuts as any other workflow objects: Once you're in the right workflow canvas, type / and the name of your prefab, select it in the sidebar and press Return for it to be added. In the menu from your screenshot, you can set your Workflow Defaults; The prefix to your bundle ID, your name, URL and a template Readme. Alternatively, you can duplicate an existing workflow by right-clicking it in the sidebar and choosing "Duplicate..." so if you prefer to use a workflow in its entirety, you can do this. You could even create a category called "templates" (in the circle with three dots at the top of the left sidebar) to organise all of your templated workflows.
  24. @Eureka In both your original diagnostics and most recent one, I can see that you have an external volume, your "My Passport" drive. Please remove this drive from your search scope, as originally advised, as it's very likely that the delay you're seeing is caused by macOS waiting for the drive to wake before sending results. Beyond this, as you've shared very little information about your configuration, it's very tricky for me to guess what may be happening on your Mac. To be clear, this issue will be outside of Alfred, and caused by a configuration on your Mac causing a delay in returning results. Without more information, I won't be able to help further so please be thorough if you need more help.
  25. @Nika Can you clarify which hotkey you've been changing to option+command+\ and option+command+, with some screenshots? Do any other features involving Alfred actions work for you, such as copying and pasting from Alfred's clipboard, Snippets, hotkeys in workflows, etc? If they do not, you'll need to also take a look at whether you've granted Alfred suitable permissions here: https://www.alfredapp.com/help/getting-started/permissions/#integration The more information you provide in your replies, the more likely we'll be able to help you work out what's happening on your Mac.
