  1. @Ish How long ago did you update to Catalina? If you've only just upgraded, it may still be doing its first indexing which can take a little while. Alfred will only show "Waiting for results" if macOS isn't returning results, and is caused by an underlying indexing issue. If you've installed more than a day or two ago (and didn't shut down your Mac in between so that it could keep running), your best bet is to rebuild your Mac's index via Alfred's Advanced preferences.   2. @Nooblet Welcome to the forum Which version of macOS are you using? If you're using Mojave and earlier, you should be able to get this workflow working. However, if you're on Catalina, it's not currently possible to search email; Apple have removed access for third-party apps to Mail.app results by excluding it from the Spotlight metadata that apps like Alfred can use to return results. For what it's worth, I register a new test user account after almost every platform software update to ensure nothing's broken, and it still runs smoothly for users, so I suspect @vitor might be onto something in suggesting what could be making the captcha experience a little rockier than usual for you.   4. @rhinoid First, welcome to the forum, and glad you're joining us As you can imagine, Andrew and I did not create and write this forum platform ourselves; We're using a commercial platform called IPBoard. As with every single platform out there, there are pros and cons. With regards to the captchas, I just went and created a test account so that I could identify the hiccup areas and report it to IPBoard's support, in the hope that we can improve the user experience, but I was registered in a blink.   5. @Guy Stan Could you please check if you have any other apps that modify the clipboard? Cmd + X isn't a hotkey used by Alfred by default, so it's either behaviour from a workflow or a third-party app. Does this happen in every app or only specific ones? If it's in every app, then something's having a global impact, while if it only happens in a specific app, check that app's preferences for anything that makes Cmd + X behave in such a way.   7. In macOS Catalina, Apple have removed access for third-party apps to Mail.app results by excluding it from the Spotlight metadata that apps like Alfred can use to return results. As such, the workflow won't return any results, as macOS no longer returns any Mail results. Here's a thread including responses from an Apple employee explaining what's happened to the Spotlight index. Within this thread, there's a somewhat possible workaround of copying the Mail folder to a different folder within your Home folder (e.g. in Documents), it becomes indexable.   8. @dansmans Search should work smoothly in Catalina, and both Spotlight and Alfred should be returning search results. Alfred relies on the underlying macOS index maintained by Spotlight, so once you get your Spotlight index working, Alfred should also return results.   12. @Maruan This is a long-standing bug in macOS where keyboard focus isn't allowed, and something we've been aware of for many versions. We've raised it with Apple on many occasions and there have been no changes in macOS to allow this over the years.   13. @Rolli Welcome to the forum! As well as the suggestion Vitor made, it may be that your search scope doesn't include the new apps path required by Catalina. If you open the preferences to Features > Default Results, ensure that the "macOS Applications folder" checkbox is ticked. Beyond that, if you go through the macOS index rebuild from Alfred's Advanced preferences, do you see any error messages in Terminal? It may be that there's a deeper indexing issue on your Mac or a botched Catalina install. Cheers, Vero
  14. @pzgz Could you please specify: Which version of Alfred and Catalina are you using specifically? Which apps aren't returning recent documents? Did you grant Alfred Full Disk Access in the accessibility preferences? The Recent Documents feature works well in our testing for native macOS apps; Certain non-native apps like Microsoft Word have never returned recent documents, as they're stored in an illegible format that Alfred can't use.   15. @LeaXDC Alfred requires Accessibility in order to paste to frontmost app, not Automation, so that's not the issue If you've upgraded to Catalina, you may want to go back to the Accessibility permissions and remove/re-add Alfred, just in case Catalina has fluffed something (it's unfortunately still fairly buggy, even in its public release form). Are you having issues pasting to all apps or only specific ones? Are you running any other clipboard tools or keyboard modifiers that could be interfering with Alfred's normal operation? What file types are they? What are you typing into Alfred when searching?   21. @psifertex Take a look at Alfred's Features > System preferences, where you can add any drives you want to the Blacklist (including wildcarded names). These are the defaults, so if you don't see them, click the "reset" button. You can then drag any further drives to ignore into the list. Cheers, Vero
  22. @firesofmay This would definitely be a job for snippets: You can save a snippet from the Clipboard History Viewer by pressing Cmd + S on it and giving it a name - no need to think about expansion keywords or anything fancy. You can then save it as a non-expanding snippet, in a collection that's just a scratchpad. Periodically, you can then delete the contents of the snippet collection. Cheers, Vero

  24. @Matt! Do you also run VLC on macOS? Take a look at the thread below, where fellow users confirm that Alfred is just one of the many things that can trigger the visual glitch caused by VLC. We recommend reporting this to VLC, but you can work around it in Alfred by setting the theme you're using to use no blur. Cheers, Vero
