  1. @Dominik Mayer Welcome to the forum As @Stephen_C highlights, this is an issue caused by the macOS Migration Assistant, where paths from the previous Mac/macOS version are not correctly set on the new Mac. Using the broader scope is one workaround, but most users find this resolves after a deep reindex (Step 6 here) or over a period of time where macOS naturally rebuilds the index and likely works past the legacy paths that were migrated.
  2. @BerryTaylor If nothing is expanding, you don't get a beep, etc, it's a sign that the Accessibility which allows Alfred to expand snippets hasn't been granted. This may be through no fault of your own, and could be a macOS issue on your Mac or user profile where the permissions aren't correctly granted even if they appear to be. First, try restarting your Mac if you haven't yet, and see if Alfred still has Accessibility permission after a reboot. You may benefit from also resetting permissions using this command: https://www.alfredapp.com/help/getting-started/permissions/#regrant If the above doesn't work, could you please create a new vanilla account on your Mac (temporarily) and activate your Powerpack on that profile? Once you've done this, grant Alfred Accessibility and create a single snippet - preferably a simple word rather than using a dynamic one for the time being. In TextEdit, try expanding once again. Let me know how you get on. Cheers, Vero
  3. @BerryTaylor Could you please provide more details about what's not working with snippets? - Have you checked that Accessibility is granted to Alfred? Have you tried removing and re-adding Alfred to ensure macOS is "nudged" into seeing that you've granted it? - If you launch TextEdit (a simple and native app, ideal for testing) and try to expand your snippet, what do you see? Does the keyword disappear, does the snippet content appear, do you hear an error beep? - If your snippet expands in TextEdit, in which apps do you see a different behaviour? - What is your snippet keyword? What is the content that should be pasted? The more information you provide, the easier it'll be for us to help troubleshoot what's happening on your Mac
  4. @DrDannySands You can add a suffix to a snippet or collection, but this needs to be a pre-defined character (e.g. a space, a symbol like 😃 rather than an arbitrary delimiter. Here's how you can set a suffix/prefix for a collection: https://www.alfredapp.com/help/features/snippets/collections/#affix Cheers, Vero
  5. @Francooca Could you provide the output from the Indexing Troubleshooter so that we can see what metadata is available for your files? https://www.alfredapp.com/help/troubleshooting/indexing/
  6. @GatorMapi Could you try quitting Moom, ensuring it doesn't automatically launch at startup, and seeing what kind of behaviour you see over the next few days or restarts? This will allow us to remove that variable and work out if it's the issue.
  7. @GatorMapi I'm not sure why you'd be seeing this issue, and I can't recall coming across this issue before in supporting the community. Do you use any window management tools that may be repositioning things or creating virtual desktops that might confuse macOS as to the position/size of your screen? Does it only happen after you change your screen setup, e.g. when you re-plug your laptop in, the displays go black, then things are repositioned incorrectly? I'm hoping someone else might have a suggestion because I'm stumped, I'm sorry!
  8. @esv It's not totally clear what you're looking to do, but if what you want to do is ignore a hotkey when a particular app is in focus, you can add it here and choose "not in focus" so that the hotkey combo only works when that app is not in focus: https://www.alfredapp.com/help/workflows/triggers/hotkey/#related-apps If I've misunderstood your question, please do clarify and share any workflow in progress you're creating so that we can help you further.
  9. @GatorMapi Could you tell me more about your displays setup? Are you using one screen all the time, multiple screens, plugging a laptop in, etc? I'm wondering whether macOS may be incorrectly reporting the dimensions of your display resulting in an unusual position. If you check the box to "Save position when dragging Alfred main window" and position it where you like, is the position remembered?

@godbout Thanks for submitting the workflow, and I fully agree that torrents can be used for legitimate and legal content. If you could please choose screenshots that reflect legal content, that'd be great.
  11. It's possible that you were hitting a node on Cachefly's content delivery network that was failing temporarily. Glad you're all sorted now
  12. @Luca DB Could you please see if you're able to access this URL? https://cachefly.alfredapp.com/testcdn.txt
  13. @esv How about using nicknames for the two apps? https://www.alfredapp.com/blog/tips-and-tricks/give-files-nicknames-to-find-them-faster/
  14. @Luca DB Do you use Little Snitch or a similar app? Have you tried rebooting your Mac since you first encountered that issue?
  15. @esv Where is the original file you want to include, as well as its location? It may be better to include the path of the original file rather than add aliases.
  16. @Luca DB Welcome to the forum! Are you using a VPN, proxy or other means of restricting your connection? If you're able to, e.g. via mobile data or on a different computer, could you try doing the same thing and let me know how you get on?
  17. What you're experiencing won't be related to updating Alfred's version. It could be caused by a number of things, but essentially means that permissions aren't being correctly saved in macOS. First, try manually removing and re-adding Alfred 5 to the "Open at Login" items under System Settings > General > Login Items. If you restart your Mac, is Alfred 5 still listed there?
  18. They are ordered by newest first by default, so typing "gallery" will show you the most recently added/updated workflows
  19. @Yanqi Send an email to our info@ address and we'll help you further. Please ensure you email from your registered email address to speed up the process.
  20. @huskyhusky I've had a deeper look at the exact setting you're referring to, as I had misunderstood your original post as saying that none of the ordering settings in File Navigation were working for you. Apologies for this! While the type of sorting (by name, creation date or last modified date is saved and permanent, the A->Z / Z->A, Oldest to Newest configuration is intentionally temporary. The expected and logically most useful default for this is to be alphabetical or sorted by the newest file, but the ⌘⇧S hotkey combo allows you to quickly flip it when needed. When you then access your File Navigation e.g. the next day, this will be reset to the most logical ordering. Is there a particular reason you prefer to sort from Z to A as a permanent feature? All of the above being said, there is a way for you to sort results in the order you prefer using a workflow with a hotkey connected to the Browse in Alfred object. Here I've set it to start navigating at ~ and sort by Last Modified Date by oldest to newest, but you could start from a particular folder or change the sorting. Let me know if you need any help configuring your own workflow.
  21. @huskyhusky Do you notice any other preferences you've customised resetting unexpectedly? Sounds like your preferences may not be saving as they should. Do you sync your preferences, and if so, where? (check Alfred's advanced preferences if you're not sure)
  22. @pankajbokdia Welcome to the forum Could you please provide more details of what your hotkey is, which version of Alfred and macOS you're using, etc? In terms of testing whether Accessibility is working as expected, if you're already familiar with the features, could you check if snippets auto-expansion and/or pasting from the clipboard history is working for you? This will help establish whether Accessibility permissions might be broken. The more information you can share, the easier it should become for me to help you work out what might be missing from your configuration.
  23. @Toffy Thanks for taking the time to provide more details. To be clear, this is an issue with macOS, not with Alfred, so these are workaround in Alfred given Apple hasn't, and likely won't, resolve the deeper-rooted issue. Which version of macOS are you using? Did you install it fresh or do an upgrade / use Time Machine / Migration Assistant to copy your stuff from an older Mac? With regards to exact matching "IR", have you ever searched for the folder in question and selected it when using that keyword? If so, Alfred will match it as a higher priority above random folders that contain the same characters. You can read more about Alfred's Knowledge and result ordering here: https://www.alfredapp.com/help/kb/understanding-result-ordering/
  24. Fantastic, thanks all for letting me know you're interested! I'll come up with some questions for the first round, but I like @sepulchra's suggestion for the style used on usesthis Check that the email address in your profile is still correct, and you should hear from me next week!
  25. @Toffy Thanks for the details. Could you please open your Alfred preferences to the Default Results, click the "Reset..." button bottom right of the search scope and set it to Full Disk? If you search for the file, can you now find it? Summarising a past macOS bug, some users who upgraded their Mac / set up a new one by using the macOS Migration Assistant encounter a scope issue where macOS doesn't correctly resolve the paths from the old Mac to the new one. Setting the scope to Full Disk usually works around that bug. It's been much less frequently reported recently, so I can only surmise that Apple has fixed it in some contexts but not all. Some users reported that this scope issue was resolved by fully reindexing their Mac, so if you have a moment, that's also a good option. Let me know how you get on
