  1. @lesormonde To summarise, taking a look at the Diagnostics you've sent in, I can see that Alfred is configured correctly so that the menu bar icon should be visible, so there is no misconfiguration on Alfred's side. If you restart your Mac with Alfred launching at startup, do you see the bowler hat at any point? Taking a look at the screenshot you sent in, there are two clocks (at the two ends of your menu bar) and quite a few icons, which indicates that you have multiple apps using menu bar space. As a final thought, I would suggest creating a new user account on your Mac temporarily, and launching Alfred with no other third-party apps configured. If the bowler hat appears normally on this new profile, it confirms that something in your main profile (a third-party app, most likely) is "managing" the menu bar for you.
  2. @lesormonde If you do check one of the boxes, quit Alfred's preferences and relaunch them, are changed preferences retained?
  3. @Zzyzx Oh The Alfred Remote counterpart app gets its features from Alfred on Mac; Every time new workflow objects are added to Alfred on your Mac, these can be triggered via the Remote app. As such, it doesn't need frequent updates in the App Store in order to take advantage of these features.
  4. @alvred This is why I suggested that you can ask about any workflow you're not certain about; Many workflows use simple objects, automation tasks (created by our team) and actions that are very transparent, so it's easy to see what they do in the canvas. If you have doubts about scripts in specific workflows, we (and the community) are always here to help demystify them.
  5. @lesormonde I've had a look at your Diagnostics, and the option to hide the menu bar hat isn't set. First, could you please open Appearance > Options and take a screenshot of your preferences? Share the screenshot in your reply so that I can see your settings. Next, if the box for "hide menu bar icon" is ticked, please quit the preferences and re-open them. Is the box still ticked? (This will allow us to check if your preferences are being correctly saved or whether there is a permission issue) Let me know how you get on.
  6. @alvred If you have any concerns about the security of workflows, you can opt to use workflows from Alfred Gallery only: https://alfred.app These workflows are reviewed and assessed before being added to the Gallery; You'll find more details about this here: https://alfred.app/security-and-privacy/ When a workflow has an update available, you'll see an icon (arrow pointing up) letting you know that an update is available. For the majority of workflows, the code can be read openly, so if you use a diff tool like Kaleidoscope, you can take a look at the code changes between versions. Workflows that have compiled apps within them are identified as such in the Gallery. If you have a question about a specific workflow, don't hesitate to ask in the relevant forum thread and we'll help you understand what a workflow does Cheers, Vero
  7. @Oneechan69 Alfred is keyboard-centric and designed for ultimate efficiency. Scrolling one item at a time is intentional, so that you're never left with a half-result showing, as that's not very useful. Are you using the mouse to scroll, as this is a secondary way to interact with Alfred? You'll still see scrolling one result at the time when using the mouse. When using Alfred, search (e.g. using your preferred keywords to filter to the relevant results), refine your search by typing until you see the result you want, and use the arrows or Cmd + the number to select the result.
  8. @lesormonde Do you use any third-party tools that manage your menu bar (e.g. Bartender) that could be hiding icons automatically? If you're not using one of these apps, could you please provide your Diagnostics file, which you can get by typing "?diagnostics" into Alfred? You can then email it to our info@ address so that I can take a look at your preferences.
  9. @Zach N Could you please let me know if and how you're syncing your preferences? This is most likely an issue caused by the preferences being synced in such a way that Alfred doesn't have instant and ongoing access to the preferences. If you're using iCloud, ensure that Optimised Storage is disabled so that the preferences are always available to Alfred. If the issue persists, please follow the steps I provided to this user, where you move Alfred out of your sync location temporarily to check whether the behaviour improves outside of iCloud: Let me know how you get on
  10. @Nikos Alfred will ignore any copied content that is marked as ConcealedType by the source. First, check your browser plugin's preferences in case you can check a box to tell it to mark its content as Concealed (which is highly relevant for a password plugin). Next, make a suggestion to the plugin creator if that's not an option, as it would be a sensible thing to add. In the meantime, you can tell Alfred to ignore content from your browser as a whole, or manually delete entries from the clipboard with Fn + backspace.
  11. @dhanya As per the error message, you may have used up all of your credits. If you log in to the OpenAI platform, you can check your account for credits: https://platform.openai.com/account/billing/overview
  12. @dit7c1 The permissions needed by CleanShot may fall under System Events; I'm sorry, you may have to wait until Stephen is able to provide some more details as he knows the workflow far better than I do
  13. @dit7c1 You can review permissions in macOS's System Settings > Privacy & Security, where you can check you've granted Alfred appropriate access under: Accessibility: This is a single toggle that should be enabled Automation: If Alfred is listed here, click "Alfred 5" to see the applications for which Alfred has requested control. You should ensure these are all toggled to the right Full Disk Access: Single toggle, should be enabled All of the above may not be relevant for the CleanShotX workflow, but will ensure your Alfred experience is as smooth as it should be
  14. @dit7c1 The List Filter could be used in the way you describe, where each list filter option can be connected to a different action. Before diving too deep into creating this, have you had a look at the existing screenshot workflows on Alfred Gallery, which might suit your needs or provide a good starting point? There are also a few different VPN-related workflows, including the Network workflow that lists your configured VPNs for you to choose from that might do exactly what you need.
  15. @willardcook Welcome to the forum As outlined in Alfred's Permissions preferences and on the Granting Permissions support page: "There's no need to manually add Alfred to Automation, as this will be requested automatically by macOS when needed." You don't need to worry about Automations; Alfred will ask for the relevant permissions when they are needed. For example, when using System Events, you'll see a pop-up that allows you to grant this permission. If for any reason, you denied access when the request popped up, you can open macOS System Settings > Privacy & Security > Automation > Alfred and enable the missing permission. For now, it doesn't look like Alfred has needed any on your Mac. Cheers, Vero
  16. @ncb2 Welcome to the forum It looks like you need to install Python to use this workflow. Here's how you can install dependencies for workflows that are not from the Alfred Gallery and therefore not managed by the built-in dependencies manager: https://www.alfredapp.com/help/kb/install-dependencies/ You'll need to check whether the workflow you're using required Python 2 or 3, as it looks like there are a few different workflows for Pocket.
  17. @stacks13 Thanks for the update, glad to hear it's all sorted! Sounds like macOS might've just got itself into a muddle. I'll move this to Closed.
  18. @stacks13 Welcome to the forum Nothing has changed in Alfred with regards to how he behaves with the menu bar, so here are a few things worth taking a look at: Try switching Alfred to Compatibility Mode in Appearance > Options > Focusing. By default, Alfred appears as a floating window, whereas using Compatibility Mode makes it behave more like an app, allowing other apps to be aware of it being in focus. Check that you haven't lost or accidentally changed some BTT settings that could have an impact on this behaviour You can redownload Alfred 5.1.4 if you'd like to confirm that the behaviour is the same between the previous and current versions of Alfred. Let me know how you get on.
  19. @iJemz With that checkbox ticked in the Clipboard History, select a file on your Desktop and do Cmd + C. You'll see that there's a file reference saved in the Clipboard. Next, open an email or message, etc... and select the file reference in question from your Clipboard Viewer - The file will be pasted there. Alfred doesn't save the file itself for efficiency reasons, but saves a file reference that you can use to paste the file somewhere else. Hope this helps
  20. @Manny Have you followed the steps in Andrew's answer to the thread you linked? Check that your Firewall allows incoming connections from Alfred Remote, and that your network allows devices to see each other. Some networks (e.g. corporate networks, coffee shops) have restrictions in place to stop devices being able to see each other on the network for the safety of individual users.
  21. @simon810 Could you please follow the same steps outlined here, moving your preferences temporarily off iCloud, and ensuring you've disabled Optimised Storage?
  22. @TDube It has always been a requirement to keep Optimised Storage disable in order to store Alfred's preferences on iCloud: https://www.alfredapp.com/help/advanced/sync/#always-offline It's possible that you've now reached a point with your Mac, macOS and iCloud where it needs to start strategically moving files to online-only, resulting in these issues.
  23. @bob113 Did you check that your credits are still active? I believe they expire after three months from account creation, at which point you'll need to top up.
  24. @Silas Welcome to the forum First, could you please check whether you're using Optimised Storage on your Mac? This iCloud feature must be disabled if you'd like to use it for syncing your Alfred preferences, as enabling it means that macOS can arbitrarily decide to make your preferences online-only, making them unavailable to Alfred. Once you've done this, temporarily create a new sync location in your user directory under ~/Alfred/ (provided this is a local, unsynced path on your Mac) and set this as your sync folder in Alfred's advanced preferences. Next, try deleting a workflow again and see if it's successfully removed when the preferences are reopened. Let me know how you get on.
