  1. @kturner75 Open Alfred's preferences to Appearance > Options, and take a look at the right side where you'll see "Show Alfred on..." and choose your preferred option, whether it's mouse screen, active screen or default screen, to get the behaviour you prefer. I have mine set to use the mouse screen.
  2. @echojeff Thanks for confirming it resolved itself! And for adding your PP address to your profile Cheers, Vero
  3. @echojeff Welcome to the forum Could you please first fill in your Powerpack email address in your forum profile? If you could then export your theme, and your Diagnostics file (by typing "?diagnostics" into Alfred) and send both to our info@ email address. Let me know what theme you've last selected before exporting, and I'll take a look at what theme was saved with your theme. We can then see what might be happening on your Mac, as theme fonts are updating fine in my attempt to replicate the issue you're seeing. Cheers, Vero
  4. It won't cause any issues, and won't slow down results, if that's what you had in mind. You can always remove / and put more specific sub-folders within that directory into your search scope if you find that any unwanted results crop up, but generally, it's a practical way around the macOS bug in the Migration Assistant. Cheers, Vero
  5. @pharmonie Welcome to the forum It looks like you're encountering two separate issues, so first, looking at finding folders: Am I right in guessing that you migrated your data using the macOS Migration Assistant when moving from your old to your new Mac? If so, you've encountered a bug in macOS Monterey's Migration Assistant, which is outlined here and for which we provide a workaround: https://www.alfredapp.com/help/troubleshooting/indexing/monterey Next, with regards to pasting from Clipboard History, what you describe does sound like a permissions issue. Please make sure that Alfred has been granted Accessibility in the macOS System Prefs > Security & Privacy > Privacy > Accessibility. If the box next to Alfred is already checked, you may need to re-grant permissions, if macOS has lost resolution of which permissions have been granted to Alfred: https://www.alfredapp.com/help/getting-started/permissions/#regrant Let me know how you get on Cheers, Vero [Moved to Discussion & Help forum section]
  6. @garyh Thanks for providing more details. I'm not familiar with .service files, are they normally considered apps in macOS? If so, what's happening is that macOS is just treating the .service files as apps (as you can see from the ContentTypeTree) and including them in your results. You have a few options: - You can exclude the single .service app by dragging it to Spotlight's Privacy tab. You should then type "reload" into Alfred to refresh the application cache and remove it - You could exclude an entire folder within Cellar if these results are not relevant and/or there are multiple .service files showing in your results. Again, clear cache after adding them to Spotlight Privacy - If .service files aren't supposed to be apps, you'll need to do a little research to work out how to correct the type Hope this helps
  7. @manjaro Have you checked Spark Mail's settings in case they have a feature that manipulates what you paste in some way? Or have you been in touch with the Spark Mail developers if that's the only app where you encounter issues? They may have some pointers for you, if standard native apps are working normally.
  8. @fcocchiano Did you migrate your preferences from Time Machine or another Mac when upgrading to Monterey? There's a bug in macOS Monterey's Migration Assistant that appears to cause the OS to lose resolution of your home folder in the transition from one Mac / backup to another. This appears to be the most common scenario where users experience this issue. Cheers, Vero
  9. @garyh Can you please provide the full output from the troubleshooter? Cheers, Vero
  10. @rootameen Welcome to the forum This is the setting you're looking for: https://www.alfredapp.com/blog/tips-and-tricks/keep-your-latest-query-handy/ You can set the query history to be saved and shown if within 5 minutes from the last time you showed Alfred.
  11. @manjaro Could you please test this in TextEdit in plain text and see what behaviour you get? When you say "not consistent", do you mean between apps or within a particular app? Google Docs and Gmail are particularly likely to manipulate what you paste, adding spaces, removing spaces, adding line breaks, etc... This also changes when Google do updates. If you can provide some more details as to the specific context where you're experiencing the changing behaviour, I'll see if anything can be done Cheers, Vero
  12. @Sticky Your best bet would be to set the workflow hotkeys to be ignored when certain apps are in focus, using the "Related Apps" tab: https://www.alfredapp.com/help/workflows/triggers/hotkey/#related-apps Hope this helps
  13. @garyh This file type shouldn't be included in default results. The best place to start is by using the File Troubleshooter, so that you can see what metadata is being returned for that particular file: https://www.alfredapp.com/help/troubleshooting/indexing/ If you share it here, as well as your Default Results preferences (including any file types you've included via the "Advanced..." button in the Default Results prefs) we'll help you work out what's happening Cheers, Vero
  14. @fcocchiano Welcome to the forum. Would I be right in assuming the Mac on which you're having issues is on macOS Monterey? If so, please take a look at this page: https://www.alfredapp.com/help/troubleshooting/indexing/monterey Let me know how you get on Cheers, Vero
  15. @Charlie Welcome to the forum. Have you read the posts above for the solution? Take a look at this thread and follow Step 2 to widen your search scope: https://www.alfredapp.com/help/troubleshooting/indexing/monterey This works around the bug in Apple's Migration Assistant in macOS Monterey. Cheers, Vero
  16. @Smpl The Alfred preferences app is stored within the Alfred.app bundle. It's not possible for us to know the exact cause of why this isn't working on your particular network configuration, however, it's imperative that Alfred has quick always-on access to his preferences file. The best way to ensure this is to keep the preferences locally and use a system to handle the sync aspect. This is essentially why we, until this point, recommended Dropbox, as the files remain local and immediately accessible. Dropbox then syncs it up with the Dropbox cloud service. In your particular case, the files aren't local and are actually on a network volume, so while you can set it, YMMV. In your particular case, I still recommend keeping the files local and using a sync mechanism to push these to your server. Many NAS drives will have a client app that can do this type of syncing for you. Cheers, Vero
  17. You don't necessarily need a workflow for FaceTime. You can add a custom action in Features > Contacts, so that when you open a Contacts card for a friend, you can set the default or alternative action to be as follows: You can then search for your friend's name in Alfred, open their contact card, choose the email address (or phone number if that's what you have set up, you'd just need another custom action for that) and use your combo (in my case Cmd + Return) to launch Facetime. You'll still need to click the green button to start the call but it's still very quick Cheers, Vero
  18. @Pietro Could you please also let us know exactly what you're typing into Alfred to find these files? As you can see from the yellow warning on the docx file, this file type is not included in Alfred's default results, so you would need to type "open Trasparenza" (or use the spacebar trick instead) to broaden Alfred's results and include it. If you can be more specific as to what you're typing, and pop your Diagnostics file by email to our info@ address, I'll take a look to see if it provides more insight Cheers, Vero
  19. @Smpl Alfred and Alfred Preferences are two separate apps, and rely on underlying file system notifications to communicate the preference changes with each other. It could be that these notifications aren't happening on your network volume setup. A more reliable solution would be to keep your files locally on your Mac, and use rsync to coordinate changes with your local server. That way, Alfred always has instant access to local preferences, even when the network volume isn't available.
  20. @Pietro In that case, could you please provide all of the information outlined under the "Still having issues?" header: https://www.alfredapp.com/help/troubleshooting/indexing/#morehelp Please give tangible examples of exactly what you're typing into Alfred, including whether you use any prefix keywords or not, and the output for the File Troubleshooter for the files you expect to find.
  21. Welcome to the forum More specifically, please take a look at the Monterey guide here: https://www.alfredapp.com/help/troubleshooting/indexing/monterey/ If you upgraded to Monterey or migrated your preferences using the macOS Migration Assistant, this guide will show you how to work around a bug in the Migration Assistant. Cheers, Vero
  22. @fridayrah Welcome to the forum. You can manually add Alfred by following these steps: Click the padlock icon in the bottom left of the System Prefs > Security & Privacy > Privacy preferences, and authenticate with your user (administrator) details In the Full Disk Access list, click the [+] at the bottom of the list Navigate to your Applications and add Alfred Check the box next to Alfred You'll likely be prompted to restart Alfred, so do that Relock the padlock in the Privacy tab As for Automation, macOS will ask when it's needed, so there's no need to manually try adding Alfred. Let me know how you get on
  23. @Smpl The Alfred.alfredpreferences file is essentially a folder containing your preferences. The fact that the date hasn't changed on it doesn't mean it's not syncing. Which syncing service are you using? Try adding a custom search, or changing a snippet, then once your sync service has done its job, checking the Alfred preferences on your other Mac. Provided it's set up properly, you'll see the changes
  24. @SanityFox Check macOS System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Privacy > Automation, and make sure the checkbox next to Alfred > System Events is checked. If it's already checked, but you're still seeing this error, it's possible that the permissions may have become corrupted and need to be re-set.
  25. I would recommend first reaching out to the workflow creator, as they updated it 12 days ago, and seem to be actively maintaining it.
