  1. @Iván Vallés Alfred doesn't limit or filter this in any way, and will return everything that is provided by your selected Dictionary. It's possible that Apple's API is only providing a subset of results for two characters, due to the large number of matching results. [Moved to Discussion & Help] Cheers, Vero
  2. @Bertrand Welcome to the forum. Depending on how you've got your Contacts set up, this is the first place to start: https://www.alfredapp.com/help/troubleshooting/finding-contacts/#duplicates Cheers, Vero
  3. @daniel333 Could you please also go through the standard steps for Snippets and Clipboard, ensuring you've activated the features themselves? https://www.alfredapp.com/help/features/snippets/auto-expansion/ https://www.alfredapp.com/help/features/clipboard/#clipboard-history Once you've done this, if the issue persists, please provide more details as to the issue you're seeing so that we can help you further, starting with the version of Alfred and macOS you're using. Snippets: Are your snippets definitely ticked for auto-expansion? What happens when you type your snippet shortcut? Does it disappear? Do you hear the beep for expansion, or an error beep? This will help establish at which stage the issue is happening and what may be misconfigured on your Mac What application are you testing this in? We recommend TextEdit as a basic native app to test in, to avoid the external factors brought in by non-native apps or website. For the clipboard: When you show the Clipboard History, are items being copied to it? Do you use any hotkey modifiers (e.g. something where Cmd + V isn't used to paste), another clipboard manager that may be interfering, etc The more information you can provide, the more likely we can help you out. Cheers, Vero
  4. @Maruan This is a long-standing bug in macOS where keyboard focus isn't allowed, and something we've been aware of for many versions. We've raised it with Apple on many occasions and there have been no changes in macOS to allow this over the years. You'll find one of Andrew's original answers to this here: [Moved to Closed as we're aware/monitoring but are unable to make any further changes without Apple's help] Cheers, Vero
  5. @Rolli Welcome to the forum! As well as the suggestion Vitor made, it may be that your search scope doesn't include the new apps path required by Catalina. If you open the preferences to Features > Default Results, ensure that the "macOS Applications folder" checkbox is ticked. Beyond that, if you go through the macOS index rebuild from Alfred's Advanced preferences, do you see any error messages in Terminal? It may be that there's a deeper indexing issue on your Mac or a botched Catalina install. Cheers, Vero
  6. @pzgz Could you please specify: Which version of Alfred and Catalina are you using specifically? Which apps aren't returning recent documents? Did you grant Alfred Full Disk Access in the accessibility preferences? The Recent Documents feature works well in our testing for native macOS apps; Certain non-native apps like Microsoft Word have never returned recent documents, as they're stored in an illegible format that Alfred can't use. Cheers, Vero
  7. @LeaXDC Alfred requires Accessibility in order to paste to frontmost app, not Automation, so that's not the issue If you've upgraded to Catalina, you may want to go back to the Accessibility permissions and remove/re-add Alfred, just in case Catalina has fluffed something (it's unfortunately still fairly buggy, even in its public release form). Are you having issues pasting to all apps or only specific ones? Are you running any other clipboard tools or keyboard modifiers that could be interfering with Alfred's normal operation? Beyond this, you can also try creating a temporary new user account on your Mac and test it there to ensure it's working as expected. Cheers, Vero
  8. @LeaXDC As stated in the "Request Permissions" preferences that you provided a screenshot for, "macOS will automatically request the options the first time they're needed" As such, if Alfred isn't listed in Automation, you haven't used any feature that requires it. Is there anything in particular that's not working for you that may have made you think you needed Automation? Also, yes, it's up to Catalina to grant permissions and retain these permissions between beta updates; This isn't up to the third-party apps. As for the PS relating to the captchas, this forum is based on a platform called IPBoard; We haven't designed it and have limited control over the precise layout and design of it. Unfortunately, I can't redesign the signup page. Cheers, Vero
  9. @redwilly Which version of Alfred are you using? I'm guessing you're on an older version of Alfred, so I'd recommend downloading Alfred 4 from our website and requesting your Alfred 4 free upgrade (as I can see you have a Mega Supporter license) To get your free Alfred 4 Powerpack license code, you need to request it here by entering your old license details. This is also where you have the opportunity to become a Legendary Supporter if you wish: https://www.alfredapp.com/shop/upgrade/ You'll then be issued a new license by email, which you'll be able to use to activate in Alfred 4. [Edited to add: Apple have changed the location of default apps in macOS Catalina. In Alfred 3 & 4, we've reflected this change in the search scope Alfred looks for, but if you're still using an older version, Alfred 1 and 2 aren't aware of this location change.] Cheers, Vero
  10. @akido Type "reload" into Alfred to force the application cache to be refreshed; You're seeing the pre-Catalina and Catalina location for your apps, so reloading will remove any old legacy locations. Cheers, Vero
  11. @AndrewS Did you follow the same steps highlighted by @bibek? Without accessibility permissions (which you'll need to grant if you've just upgraded your OS), Alfred won't be able to auto-paste. Cheers, Vero
  12. @chajes Could you give us examples of what you're searching for? Where are the files located? Are the relevant paths included in Alfred's search scope in Features > Default Results? What file types are they? What are you typing into Alfred when searching? If you can provide some more information, we'll be happy to help you out, but at this point, you haven't given a single example since your first post. Cheers, Vero
  13. @psifertex Take a look at Alfred's Features > System preferences, where you can add any drives you want to the Blacklist (including wildcarded names). These are the defaults, so if you don't see them, click the "reset" button. You can then drag any further drives to ignore into the list. Cheers, Vero
  14. @firesofmay This would definitely be a job for snippets: You can save a snippet from the Clipboard History Viewer by pressing Cmd + S on it and giving it a name - no need to think about expansion keywords or anything fancy. You can then save it as a non-expanding snippet, in a collection that's just a scratchpad. Periodically, you can then delete the contents of the snippet collection. Cheers, Vero
  15. @tga Drop us an email on our info@ address and we'll help you get that updated Cheers, Vero
  16. @Matt! Do you also run VLC on macOS? Take a look at the thread below, where fellow users confirm that Alfred is just one of the many things that can trigger the visual glitch caused by VLC. We recommend reporting this to VLC, but you can work around it in Alfred by setting the theme you're using to use no blur. Cheers, Vero
  17. @chriscalo Take a look at the Calculator preferences and set your preferred thousand separators so that thousands are set to commas: https://www.alfredapp.com/help/features/calculator/ Cheers, Vero
  18. It's always a case of hoping Apple don't make invisible changes that affect iCloud, but at this time, if you disable Optimised Storage (https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT207236) on your Macs, it may be sufficiently reliable for syncing. We always recommend keeping an up to date Time Machine as a backup Cheers, Vero
  19. @AndroidKitKat If you can locate your VM apps, you can drag them into the Spotlight Privacy folder. Once you've done that, type "reload" into Alfred to refresh the app cache, and your VM apps will no longer show up in your results. Cheers, Vero
  20. This is now the actual location of apps in Catalina. Andrew is planning on adding a bit of logic to be able to show the virtual locations of the apps (/Applications/.../) in a future release Cheers, Vero
  21. @sballin Just popping my head in quickly (I haven't looked at the workflow at this point) to say that apps have moved in Catalina, so if you've linked to a hardcoded location for the Notes app, that may simply need to be updated to reflect the new path I'm not on a Catalina Mac right now, but @Regluke and @Jasondm007 should be able to give you the details you need from Catalina. Thanks for the great workflow Cheers, Vero
  22. In what application or website have you seen this? I've tested this in TextEdit, and if there's a trailing space at the end of the snippet content, this is respected when it's pasted. However, we know that certain apps/sites like Google Docs and Microsoft Word manipulate content before pasting, resulting in lost or added paragraph breaks, line breaks, trailing spaces, etc. If you try it in TextEdit as plain text, what behaviour do you see? Cheers, Vero
  23. @Hervé Are you running VLC? There's a bug between macOS and VLC, which can be seen occasionally in Alfred and in macOS native pop-up menus. If you quit VLC, the issue should go away. Cheers, Vero
  24. @wealthychef Yes, Alfred is fully Catalina-ready. Which build of Catalina are you using? Apple are releasing regular builds, and I believe the Catalina GM (final release before general release to the public) was released a few days ago. You should make sure you're on the latest, and let us know exactly which build. When typing "reload" in Alfred, you should see the following: You can also clear the app cache by going to Alfred's Advanced > Files/Apps "Clear Application Cache" in the top left. Cheers, Vero
  25. @wealthychef Type "reload" into Alfred to refresh the app cache first. If the issue is with Alfred having cached the old and new location, that'll resolve it. If you still see two at that point, then macOS may have got itself into a more serious muddle, and is actually providing duplicate results to Alfred. Which version of Alfred and which macOS build are you using? Cheers, Vero
