  1. @gywen2013 You'll need to ensure that macOS is indexing the external drive, as Alfred relies on the macOS metadata to provide you with results. At that point, adding the drive to your search scope (or preferably, for Powerpack users, creating a File Filter workflow to search the external drive specifically) will allow you to see results from the external drive Cheers, Vero
  2. @sfsdfd I'm sorry to see that you're still frustrated, even after the numerous explanations and insight provided by us as well as fellow users. The removal of your post wasn't censorship; We have clear community guidelines, and your posts broke these rules time and time again. Here's a quote from our community guidelines, which you can read in full here: As a few of us have attempted to explain, Alfred is learning from your selection; If you choose "f" and select Firefox, this will be prioritised over a workflow with the keyword "f", which has been selected less frequently. Both results match the keyword "f", and it's your usage that indicates to Alfred that when you type "f", you've most frequently wanted Firefox. You have quite a few options to get predictable behaviour: 1. Keeping your "f" keyword for your workflow: If you ignore the top result and keep typing "f foldername", the file filter workflow will automatically come to the top once you've added more characters and it becomes clear your intention to use the file filter. 2. Set a different keyword for your workflow: If it frustrates you that "f" brings up the most frequently selected result instead of your workflow, you can change the workflow's keyword. 3. Set a hotkey for your workflow: Use a unique hotkey that brings Alfred's window up in the file filter mode right away instead of having to use a keyword. Simply assigning a keyword to a workflow is not enough to guarantee its result placement. You could assign "f" to multiple features in Alfred, and indeed, many default results will have a perfect match with "f" typed in the search window, which is why Alfred learns your usage based and maps / latches the typed search term to the result you have selected. This is how Alfred has always worked. The Alfred teams consists of @Andrew and me; We have always cared deeply about our users, and aim to give our community the best user experience possible. We listen to everyone's feedback, but in this case, this isn't a bug, it's a matter of perception of a feature that works great for millions of users. You've already stated on a few occasions that you've found a tool that better suits your needs, so I'm not sure what you're trying to achieve with this. This isn't taking initiative, it's tantamount to trolling. We've tried our very hardest to share with you how Alfred operates and how to work with Alfred to get the best experience. I hope this post can be the last one on this issue, and we can all move on to having a productive day - whatever tool we each choose to use. Cheers, Vero
  3. @tsolignani Welcome to the forum. I appreciate you responded to @vitor saying you followed the steps on the troubleshooting guide, but could you please carefully follow the steps below? Open the Spotlight Preferences Pane to the Privacy tab Drag your Applications folder (or the Applications folder containing your Acrobat app, if it's in another location) to the Privacy tab, and wait 30 seconds Remove the Applications folder from the Privacy tab, and wait another 30 seconds. This will allow macOS to reindex that folder Type "reload" into Alfred to refresh the application cache Alfred holds for apps specifically You should then be able to search for the Acrobat app and find it in Alfred's results. If you have further issues, please provide more details as to exactly what files are an issue, where they're located, and so on, so that we can help you further. It's worth noting that Alfred doesn't have his own file index, and relies on macOS, so if your Mac is taking two days to complete a reindex, there may be a deeper issue with index corruption. In that case, a full reindex, as per step 4 of the guide provided by Vitor (and checking the "Delete /.Spotlight-V100" box when it pops up) should resolve that. Cheers, Vero
  4. @macosdude Yes, you can select a snippet or clipboard item in the viewer and press Cmd + C to copy it to your current clipboard without pasting Cheers, Vero
  5. Hi all, I've read this thread carefully and have been mulling it over this week. There are many reasons we're using IPBoard, and I figure it's only fair that I share our rationale for where we're at with the forum we've opted for. I'm also going to take this feedback and share it with IPB in the hope that they can understand the issues and the shortcomings of the editor, and make some essential improvements so that writing and editing posts is more straightforward. We moved from the cutesy-but-extremely-limited Get Satisfaction in 2013, which was a difficult process even at a time where the community was less than 1/20th what it is now; Content was lost, all the previously indexed links were no longer valid, users had to create new accounts, etc. Huge upheaval for everyone. Taking a look back, they've since been acquired by another company and their product has completely changed, so our hand would've been forced even if we hadn't left then. Moving to the established - if somewhat non-trendy - IPBoard meant we'd have a platform that had been around a long time and wasn't going to be sold to the highest bidder who'll acqui-hire the staff and gut the product for parts next month. Since 2013, it has proven to be reliably available, taking a minimal amount of time for me to keep updated behind the scenes. With the exception of a few colour scheme changes, it's a completely vanilla install, with no plugins, so that I can trust that I can do security updates quickly while most users are sleeping, without having to go through testing of every plugin, or causing unexpected downtime/issues. By keeping things as simple as possible, we can focus time on helping users, rather than troubleshooting issues with unsupported plugins, new releases, etc. as the forum is only one of the numerous aspects of running a software business Andrew and I have to juggle every day. We value your time too, as community members who volunteer their time to help fellow Alfred users, so I'll definitely have a more comprehensive chat with IPB to try to bring some of these improvements in. At this point, I can't promise anything, but I'll let you know what feedback I get from the IPBoard team. Cheers, Vero
  6. @Bouzmine Welcome to the forum. Could you please share your workflow(s) or tell us more about them? Just to be clear, each fallback search you want to set up needs to have its own Fallback Search trigger in the preferences. To add a new Fallback Search object, you can right-click the workflow canvas and choose Trigger > Fallback Search, which you can then attach to the action you want to perform. Do this to create a new one, rather than editing an existing one. If I've misunderstood your issue, please provide more details and we'll be happy to help. Cheers, Vero
  7. @OhneNik Welcome to the forum. Alfred's clipboard viewer doesn't manipulate other windows, so is it possible that there's a hotkey combination clash with your window manager? If you change the clipboard viewer's hotkey (under Features > Clipboard) to something drastically different temporarily, does the issue go away? Or if you quit the window manager or change/disable its hotkeys? Cheers, Vero
  8. @lankysam Welcome to the forum! Could you please let me know which hotkey you're trying to use? If you change hotkey to something obscure and unlikely to be used by another app/service, is it faster? It's possible that the hotkey you've chosen is in use by something else which interferes with Alfred popping up normally. Also, when taking a look at Activity Monitor on your Mac, is your Mac running at an unusually high CPU load? Cheers, Vero
  9. @MarkL In the left column, look under User Diagnostic Reports and System Diagnostic Reports. You'll likely have to click the triangle next to it to expand the list of crash logs. If there are any crash logs, this is where you'll find them.
  10. @MarkL Welcome to the forum. Could you please let us know which version of Alfred you're using? Provided you're using the latest version of Alfred 3, and that you've downloaded it from https://www.alfredapp.com and not a third party source, your first bet bet is to take a look at the Console logs to see what's happening. If you can provide more details, it'll be easier for us to help you out. Cheers, Vero
  11. @heyJoeCampbell Just updated the link Cheers, Vero
  12. @terptime88 When snippets stop expanding, could you take a look at the Snippets preferences to see whether you see a Secure Input error message? https://www.alfredapp.com/help/troubleshooting/snippets/#secureinput The error message will indicate which app is hanging on to secure input, or at least whether that's the issue. In most cases, it's been down to a browser plugin (e.g. LastPass) which doesn't release secure input, or macOS getting itself confused. Restarting or logging out will clear the secure input. Cheers, Vero
  13. @Alex Miller In that case, typing "image:" into the Clipboard History is likely the most efficient way as you can then just scan down the list and preview it. If you want to get to the actual files, go to ~/Library/Application Support/Alfred 3/Databases/clipboard.alfdb.data/ Cheers, Vero
  14. @Alex Miller What exactly are you trying to achieve? If you type "image:" into the Clipboard History, you'll be able to narrow your search down to images only. (Use "file:" for file paths) Once you find the file in the Clipboard History, either press Return to paste it to your frontmost location or Cmd + C to copy it to your current clipboard, ready to use. While Alfred does store the images, they may not be in the format you're expecting, so it'd be helpful to understand what you're actually trying to do. Cheers, Vero
  15. @lumpinipark Could you please fill in your Powerpack email address in your forum profile before asking for support with workflows? This is only visible to admins and allows us to confirm your Powerpack email address. Cheers, Vero
  16. @Steve Ball Rather than including it as an Application (which it isn't), you can create a custom result for it via a workflow. Create a workflow and connect a keyword (no argument) with an Open File object containing the .webloc file. You can specify Chrome as the opening application there too if it isn't already your default browser. It's not too dissimilar to your custom search, but gives you a bit more control in terms of how it's opened. Cheers, Vero
  17. Hi @Cqwte Could you pop an email to info@ with the crash logs from Console so that I can take a further look at this? Cheers, Vero
  18. @mrtechnique Yes, this is a very simple workflow, so you could either view the list and move an item down to a "Done" list or delete the item. I tend to do the latter, so I didn't plan for a mechanism to mark as done. Some users have created far cleverer to do lists, or workflows that integrate with existing to-do list apps, so you can also look out for those Cheers, Vero
  19. @mrtechnique Welcome to the forum! If you take a look at the "About This Workflow" notes (by clicking on the [x] in the top right of the workflow, you'll find the following info: This is also where you can change the path to a location of your choice. If you want to view the lists you're creating, typing the keyword "vtodo" into Alfred shows you the existing lists so that you can open the relevant one. Hope this helps Vero
  20. @michaelg04 Welcome to the forum The link is working normally, so is it possible that you're on a network (e.g. a corporate network, coffee shop) or on a Mac where access to content delivery networks like Cachefly is restricted? Pop an email to info@ if you're still having issues with this after trying from a different internet connection or computer. Cheers, Vero
  21. @deanishe Very true I suppose my workflows tend to be quite simple ones that only change in very rare cases, and are created on-the-fly as someone needs them. This particular link change is due to Dropbox's policy change (last year?) where the public folder became uhh no longer public. I'll likely pop all of mine on Github soon
  22. Hi @jeromecarney - You're right, the link stopped working when Dropbox changed the way their shared URLs work. I've updated the link above and you can find it here too: https://www.dropbox.com/s/aa2y8morc97k5r3/Calendar search.alfredworkflow?dl=0 I've tested it from El Capitan up to High Sierra and it works great with Apple's built-in Calendar Cheers, Vero
  23. @iJemz At what frequency is the Google spreadsheet updated? Do you have to use that source, or can you export it to use locally? If you can use it locally, create a CSV file, which you can then use with a List Filter where you can search or browse for particular terms and find its translated match. You can then add a Copy to Clipboard output to paste to the frontmost app when pressing return. Given how easy it is to drop in a CSV file, you could easily replace the list of terms periodically. Fellow users may come up with ideas on working with Google Spreadsheets, but I thought I'd suggest this as an alternative way of searching and locating your translations. Cheers, Vero
  24. @Shraden Welcome to the forum. Please fill in your Powerpack email address in your forum profile before taking part in Powerpack-specific forum threads. This is only visible to admins, and allows us to confirm your registered email address. Cheers, Vero
  25. Hi @andrewsleigh and welcome to the forum! Could you please let me know what your Alfred hotkey is set to, and whether you're on High Sierra? If it's Cmd + Space, it's likely that Siri on High Sierra is interfering with it. In the System Preferences for Siri, disable holding Cmd for Siri, as this is the most likely culprit. You can also check that in the Spotlight preferences, Cmd + Space isn't re-set for Spotlight and interfering. [Edited to add: And of course, make sure you're on the latest Alfred version (3.6.1 at this time) for full High Sierra compatibility.] Let me know if the above resolves the issue for you Cheers, Vero
