  1. @threezerotwo Yep, workflow works absolutely fine, and looks completely standard. As per @deanishe's questions, it's likely to be an external factor, such as keyboard modifiers, causing a mix-up. You mentioned you're using Alfred 3.4.1; Just in case you're using this workflow on more than one Mac and one is on an older version, make sure you update to 3.4.1, as LinkedIn changed their URL structure fairly recently, and we updated accordingly. Could you provide more details if the above doesn't help? - What hotkeys are you setting? - Are you using any third-party keyboard modifiers? - What's in your clipboard at the time of using the hotkey? - What behaviour are you seeing? Nothing launching at all (e.g. hearing the error sound?), browser not loading the correct page, etc? The more info you provide, the easier we can help you work out what's happening Cheers, Vero
  2. @threezerotwo Could you share your workflow again? I've tested it myself and it works perfectly fine once Excel is removed from the Related apps Cheers, Vero
  3. @sepulchra Here's an example workflow I created where you can chain inputs (three list filters in this case): https://www.dropbox.com/s/eqq91b8tyxom5t1/Chaining inputs for a Snippet Trigger.alfredworkflow?dl=0 Each item doesn't have to be a List Filter, as you can combine list filters, free text, scripts, etc. You'll find examples of each of these in the Getting Started > Snippet Triggers built-in workflow, and some more info here: https://www.alfredapp.com/help/workflows/triggers/snippet/snippet-triggers-with-dynamic-inputs/ Cheers, Vero
  4. @threezerotwo I've had a look at your workflow; Under the hotkey trigger, you've set "Related apps" to only work when Excel is in focus. Was that intentional? If you remove Excel from the Related Apps tab, your workflow will work globally as expected. Cheers, Vero
  5. @iiiax It's likely you'll be able to do the first using scripting, but I'll let the scripting experts in the forum get back to you on the best way to do this As for your second question, I've already suggested different ways to do this in the post I helped you with earlier: https://www.alfredapp.com/help/workflows/triggers/snippet/snippet-triggers-with-dynamic-inputs/ Use the List Filter method (last one in that post) with your full answers as the Arg for each item, so that when you choose Answer A, B or C, the full paragraph is pasted. Let me know if you need any further help on that point! Cheers, Vero
  6. @bvtton As per @deanishe's reply, the shorter snippet will always expand first If you want to use !primed, for example, you can either disable auto-expansion for the shorter keywords like !prime - or you can simply change the shorter one to avoid clashing with the longer ones. Here are a few tips for choosing suitable snippet expansion keywords: https://www.alfredapp.com/help/features/snippets/#tips-expansion [Moving this to Discussion & Help as it's not a bug.] Cheers, Vero
  7. Hi @jasonvand and welcome to the forum! You can pop us an email on info@ at any time with license-related questions. If you let me know what license you already have (if any), I'll be able to let you know what's available to you Cheers, Vero
  8. @binarysmurf Try pressing the right arrow on each of those results. Odds are you'll find that they're located in different places on your Mac (e.g. some could be random vcards on your Mac, or backups). Alternatively, if you've imported contacts from many sources, it's possible that there are simply duplicates in your Address Book itself. Once you work out where the contacts are, you can then either delete the random ones so that only the one located in the AddressBook folder on your Mac remains, tell Spotlight to ignore any backup folders by dragging them to Spotlight Privacy. Let me know how you get on Cheers, Vero
  9. @WalterBeiter If you're looking to create a workflow that launches Terminal with that command, you can use the Terminal Command action Create your workflow then right-click the canvas to add Actions > Terminal Command (last one in the list) Then all you need to do is enter the command you want Terminal to run and you're good to go! Cheers, Vero
  10. @Ken Corey No problem - happy to help! As you're a new user, I thought it'd be worth mentioning that every preference pane has a question mark icon (including many sub-preferences panes) leading to the relevant documentation for the feature, so don't hesitate to click through. For example, for snippets, you'll find a general feature description, links to setup and troubleshooting, how to use dynamic placeholders etc. In the case of Workflow objects, we've included numerous example workflows that can either be added from Alfred's built-in selection, or imported to play with and discover the features Of course, when you can't find an answer, this forum's full of lovely people happy to help you out! Cheers, Vero
  11. @GuyVerville Welcome to the forum! First, ensure you're using the latest Alfred 3.4.1. When following the steps to add Alfred Text Service to your Accessibility preferences, you should see these steps: https://www.alfredapp.com/help/features/snippets/auto-expansion/ If you need to manually add Alfred Text Service, you can do so by clicking the + at the bottom of the list and adding it from the following path: /Applications/Alfred 3.app/Contents/Services/Alfred Text Service.app To get to the contents of Alfred's package, right-click Alfred 3 itself in your Applications folder, and choose "Show Package Contents" to navigate into it Let me know how you get on
  12. Hi @Ken Corey Welcome to the forum! To position the cursor, you're very close - it's {cursor} in curly brackets You can find out more here, and see the rest of the available dynamic placeholders: https://www.alfredapp.com/help/features/clipboard/dynamic-placeholders/#cursor Cheers, Vero
  13. @kballard In the Advanced Snippets prefs. Features > Snippets > Click the cog next to "Automatically expand snippets by keyword" More details here: https://www.alfredapp.com/help/features/snippets/advanced/ Cheers, Vero
  14. @djsharpe Ok, so the issue is probably not with Define or the Dictionary, but probably to do with your theme settings not displaying the subtext. First, could you please launch Alfred's prefs to Appearance > Options (bottom left) and take a look at what you've set "Show result subtext" to. It should be set to "Always" in order for you to see the definition (which is subtext). Next, switch to the default Alfred theme, in case you've set all subtext to be transparent or the same colour as your background. Looking forward which of the above solves it for you, but I'm almost certain it'll be one of these Cheers, Vero
  15. @Abd Ur Rehman In order for Alfred to be able to view your iTunes XML, you need to tell iTunes to share it with third-parties in iTunes' Advanced preferences. Take a look here for details: https://www.alfredapp.com/help/troubleshooting/itunes/#xml Cheers, Vero
  16. @djsharpe We've tested the "define" keyword on El Capitan, Sierra and the latest High Sierra beta, and everything's working as expected. Could you please give some more details as to your specific setup, so that we can help you further? Which version of macOS are you using? Which version of Alfred are you using? Can you please provide a screenshot of your Features > Dictionary preferences? Do you have any customisation to the Dictionary? (e.g. additional dictionaries from external sources, etc) Cheers, Vero
  17. Given that the workflow developer @Martien Oranje last posted two weeks ago, and logged in to the forum no more than 10 days ago, it's likely that his workflow simply needs a few tweaks, not that the workflow has been abandoned. Keep in mind that these workflows are created by users (who could be on holiday, given it's mid-July!) As Martien says, he made assumptions (that may or may not be correct) about the API tokens users get, so it might be a very easy fix for anyone who's also familiar with Todoist and its API. Cheers, Vero
  18. @tullyhansen Welcome to the forum Items are copied to Alfred's clipboard if: They're not from an ignored app (see Features > Clipboard > Advanced) They're not marked as transient data or ConcealedType by the app (e.g. when passwords are copied from a password app) I'm not that familiar with Fluid, but check for either of the points above. Whether or not the app has no dock icon doesn't make a difference. You may also want to update to Alfred 3.4.1 pre-release, which you can grab by going to the Update tab and choosing "pre-releases" at the bottom. Once you've done this, go to Clipboard > Advanced and uncheck "Ignore clipboard data marked as Concealed" to test whether this allows you to copy from Fluid, in case Fluid is wholesale marking its data as ConcealedType for some reason. Cheers, Vero
  19. @adamvert It'd be helpful to understand in what conditions it hasn't been working for you. - Could you please try with a plain text file as frontmost app, just to ensure it's not the destination causing an issue in some way? - Do you use multiple clipboard managers that could be interfering with each other? - Seems simple, but have you tried restarting your Mac? And finally, which version of Alfred are you currently using? Cheers, Vero
  20. @c.ca Welcome to the forum! Could you please fill in your Powerpack email address in your forum profile? I can see that you're using File Actions, which is a Powerpack feature. The email address will only be visible to administrators but allows us to confirm your registration. Cheers, Vero
  21. Hi @tonyska You can change this hotkey in Alfred's Features > Clipboard preferences, as this is the hotkey for the Clipboard Viewer. Either remove the hotkey by selecting the box and pressing backspace if you don't use the Clipboard History feature, or as it's a great feature I think everyone should be using, simply change the hotkey to another combo like Cmd + Option + V. Cheers, Vero
  22. @furness Welcome to the forum! Could you please fill in your Powerpack email address in your forum profile? This is only visible to admins but allows us to confirm you're a Powerpack user - given features like workflows and hotkeys are only available to Powerpack users Thanks, Vero
  23. Hi @walksoftly Welcome to the forum! When you run Alfred 3 for the first time, if Alfred 2 is still installed, you'll be shown how to migrate your preferences from v2 to v3, so you won't lose your custom searches. Here's how the Migration Assistant works: https://www.alfredapp.com/help/getting-started/migration/ As @dfay mentioned, a small number of workflows may need updating if they're hard-coded to refer to Alfred 2, but as you don't appear to have had a Powerpack in v2, this shouldn't affect you anyway Cheers, Vero
  24. Hi @mogilner Welcome to the forum! In High Sierra, the Screen Saver has simply moved to a new location, so if you update to Alfred 3.4.1, which is currently in pre-release, you'll see that Screen Saver now launches as expected If you're not familiar with pre-releases, launch Alfred to the Update tab, choose "Pre-releases" from the dropdown at the bottom of the panel, and grab 3.4.1. You can switch back to "updates" if you prefer not to get all pre-releases, as these are more frequent than regular updates. Also, a quick search on Google relating to "bug in libdispatch" shows quite a lot of results; It relates to Apple's Grand Central Dispatch, and I'm sure Apple will resolve this before the general release of High Sierra, but I've raised a ticket for it for Andrew to look into anyway. Cheers, Vero
  25. @Misha Could you clarify what you're actually trying to achieve? Given the range of objects in Alfred, it's likely that there's a better way to achieve what you want. Are you trying to open Alfred with the macOS selection, with it prefixed with the keyword "n"? If so, that's quite easy and would be much more reliable... (You'll just need to also set a hotkey, which I didn't do in this example) Beyond that, Alfred has a built-in Dispatch Key Combo output object, a Delay utility object, etc, so you might be able to do what you need without AppleScript keystrokes. Cheers, Vero
