Alfred Wifi Speedtest
Alfred Wifi Speedtest is a workflow for Alfred 4, that uses speedtest-cli and reports back in a notification the upload/download speeds of the current wifi you're on.
 

 
Why?

Since COVID hit, my wifi speeds have plummeted (Verizon cap/bottleneck maybe?). I hate needing to google for a wifi speedtest every time I have to check if my wifi speed will be good enough for the call I'm about to join. I have to open another tab, ads clutter my screen while running the speedtest, and it's one more thing cluttering my screen. This workflow makes a wifi speedtest just an alfred keyword away.
 
Important
You will always find the latest version, changelog and updated documentation on GitHub as is difficult to use the forum to keep track of updates and support.

Installation Instructions
After downloading the workflow from the release page, be sure to install the wifi speedtest-cli using the command below
 
brew install speedtest-cli
 
Then, simply run the Alfred workflow by summoning Alfred and typing speedtest.
 
This is my first real contribution to any sort of open source community so suggestions are welcome! I thought about adding automatic updates, but figured something is better than nothing to start and I can iterate on this if people have suggestions/feature requests. Thanks in advance for any suggestions to improve this workflow!

This emoji workflow scrapes Unicode.org to pull down the latest set of emoji!!. On the first run, you must be connected to the Internet so that you can generate the initial Emoji set. As new emoji are released you are able to re-query unicode.org to download the latest emoji set. There may be situations where you have emoji that do not display correctly on osx but would render correctly on ios .  This is because the emoji list on ios and osx are updated at different times.  
 
Commands:
init emoji e <search string>  
The first time you run this workflow use the command init emoji to start the download process.
 
To trigger an emoji search you use the e button and start typing a search term

Really useful workflow!
Works out of the box for me 👍 (as a developer I had homebrew, python etc)

I'd like to be able to increase or decrease the drop shadow of the window. Just a general size option would be enough for me.

To open at startup, Alfred is setup as a login item. However, Apple has been recommending for years that instead of being set as login items, apps should set up a launchd daemon. I don’t recall exactly where they mention it, but I’ll find it for you if you want.

So why pick the login item route?

I added a workflow to go with this set of Themes, you can find it on the same Github repo in the Workflows folder
 
It features two commands :
 
"theme" : toggle between Dark & Light themes for both macOS & Alfred.
"theme red" : switch to the Red Accented Alfred Theme.

Here is a new Mojave & Alfred Theme Switcher workflow intended to work with a collection of theme inspired by the new macOS Mojave UI Accent Colors.
 
With the "theme" command, you can either toggle between the Dark & Light version of your currently selected theme, or switch to another Alfred Accent Color.
Just remember to install all the themes if you want to be able to try every variant!

Howdy Fellow Alfred-itors!
 
I've been trying to figure out how I could modify Alfred's awesome keyword / search engine feature to enable me to do a Google search in a new background tab—i.e., *without* automatically shifting from my current browser tab (or current application) to the new browser tab where the search opens, as Alfred does by default.  There were a few forum posts over the years from users seeking this feature—but none of them was satisfactorily answered… Ha, but since I managed to figure out a workaround riiiiiight before I was about to give up, I thought I'd pay it forward and post it here —> since perhaps there are other users who'd like to enable to this search-in-background feature.
 
This workflow enables you to (1) search Google using Alfred while browsing in Safari in a new background tab—as well as (2) to stay in a different (i.e., non-Safari) app and run the Google search entirely in the background… which can be helpful if you're, say, poring over an Excel spreadsheet and you want to remember to Google search something later—but don't want your focus to get yanked away from your current work.
 
It's a simple two-step workflow design:
 
 
 
INPUTS = "Keyword" —> ACTIONS = "Run Script"
 
NOTE:  You must select "/usr/bin/osacript (AS)" from the "Language" drop-down menu on the script action—and then select "with input as {query}" from the adjacent drop-down.
 
Here is the Applescript to enter into the "Script" box:

There's no need to "free up memory" in a modern OS. The kernel manages RAM efficiently. What the 'purge' command does is flush filesystem buffers; this will actually slow down the OS for a little while because recently-used stuff that was cached in RAM for fast access is gone and has to be slowly loaded from disk again.
 
As the man page for 'purge' says, "Purge can be used to approximate initial boot conditions with a cold disk buffer cache for performance analysis." That is, it lets you reproduce the slowness of a cold-booted system. This isn't something you want to do in normal circumstances.
 
I'm sure some people will insist this kind of thing really does speed up their computer, but I'm pretty sure that's the placebo effect talking. When my computer starts to feel slow, I open Activity Monitor and look for which process is either hogging the CPU or allocating huge amounts of private memory, then quit that process.

@Diegobit I really like your theme -> using it for quite a few months now (light and dark).
 
The only problem I have is every time I launch the Alfred search bar, I can't move it  (= once invoked, its position is fixed). 
 
Is it a setting you have set, a bug?
 
I used to use themes where I can move Alfred search bar, that is why I guess the problem is coming from your (lovely) theme.

Alfred 3 workflow for saying a given text or a file content with a selected voice.
Installation
Install alfred-say-you-say-me workflow. All further updates are handled automatically. Usage
Select a UTF-8 encoded text file in finder and invoke the alfred file actions ⌃⌘\.

Choose the Say... in a displayed menu and select appropriate voice.
Then, the resulting file will appear in your Desktop directory.
Alternatively, you can pass the text you want to hear to this workflow. In Alfred, type say and pass the text as an argument.

Then, select a voice and your text will be spoken. Voices are sorted by their locales and previously selected voices are prioritized. Notice, that each voice in a menu contains its locale, name and a localized voice introduction.

If you press ⌘ during a voice selection, spoken text will be saved in a file stored in your Desktop directory.
Have too many voices for a selection is pretty useless, so you can configure the language filter in a workflow configuration. Fill all required locales in language_filtervariable. Filter is case insensitive and is a regular expression. If you don't know what the regular expression is, just put there all locales divided by the pipe symbol |. See the screenshot below.
 

 
Then, you will see just voices which your languages support.
 

There is another variable you could set. It's a buggy_voices_filter variable, which contains a list of buggy voices. Currently, there is a problem in the Apple Synthetization Daemon and some voices can stick it. At the moment, only the en_us - Alex voice is added there. Again, list is a regular expression.
Stuck daemon could be unstuck by typing .say-unstick in Alfred.

For the issues with the notification I had to change the notify_functions.sh .
I've completely erased the original and added the following : 
notify () { if [ "$5" = alarm ]; then nc_icon="$PWD/resources/icon_alarm.icns" else nc_icon="$PWD/resources/icon.icns" fi osascript <<EOD set img to POSIX file "$nc_icon" display dialog "$3\n$4" with title "$1" with icon img buttons {"OK"} EOD } I'm using AppleScript to display a Dialog (not a notification). This way the message sticks on the screen until I interact with it and I don't loose the reminder if I'm temporarily away.
I also had to invert the order of execution of the sound and alert. Originally it executes the notification then the sound. But changing the notification to dialog blocks the script execution, therefore the sounds executes after user interaction. To solve this issue just search for 
afplay sounds/alarm_done.mp3 & in the files timer_alarm.sh , timer_auto.sh and timer.sh . Then move it just before the notify command.

Might be helpful for you @Basket and @Dzier .

Howdy All,
This is a quick one I have thrown together for my own use, I am hoping for some feedback on if anyone else would find this useful. I.e. do I keep it to myself, or productionise it properly?
 
I put this together primarily to connect quickly and easily to my Apple Airpods and an Alfred Workflow seemed like a great way to do that. I then expanded this to do hotspots and extra headphones as well.
 
Shoutout goes to Ian Gloude for his code on https://medium.com/@igloude/using-applescript-and-btt-to-make-the-airpods-experience-a-little-bit-better-6e78b12d33bd that makes this work. Essentially all this workflow does is do the clicks in the UI for you. I have logged a RADAR to Apple's BugReporter to request proper programmatic access to such Bluetooth functions also (for good long-term measure).

Setup:
Load up workflow Open Workflow Environment Variables Modify Workflow Environment Variables with your Bluetooth Device Names. PLEASE NOTE - read the notes alongside regarding regular and artistic apostrophes. AirPods especially seem to have artistic apostrophes in their name so you need to make sure you get the right one. Should be good to go

You could do it for example by using Homebrew and installing ffmpeg package. brew install ffmpeg Install alfred-ffprobe wokflow.
Usage
Select a video file in finder and invoke the alfred file actions ⌃⌘\.

Choose the Analyze media file in displayed menu and the information about selected video will be shown.

I looked around for an Alfred workflow for the great volume un/mounting app Jettison. I couldn't find anything so I thought I would just make one and share it in case anyone else needed it. This is my first shared workflow, so hopefully it is up to snuff!

Jettison Workflow for Alfred 3
Jettison is a lightweight MacOS menulet application that automatically and safely unmounts and remounts external volumes when your computer wakes or sleeps. alfred-jettison is a simple Alfred workflow to manually invoke Jettison Actions on command.
Installation
Download the jettison.alfredworkflow and double click to open or manually drag to the worfklows tab of Alfred's preferences pane.
Dependencies
alfred-jettison requires Alfred 3 with a Powerpack license and Jettison, both of which are paid apps.
Usage

alfred-jettison uses the keyword "jet" to safely eject or mount/remount external volumes.
Commands
jet mount Mount or remount all available drives jet sleep Safely eject all drives and sleep jet eject Safely eject all drives and stay awake Notes
Though Jettison is not a scriptable application, alfred-jettison uses AppleScript to invoke actions by selecting items in the menulet menu via System Events
