politicus reacted to deanishe in Open all files in a folder
Makes sense. A smarter way would be to create some new test data and try the workflow (or whatever else) on that. Apart from being quicker than asking, I may have misunderstood the question (for example, I’m still not sure whether I was supposed to write a script that only opened files, rather than files and directories), and I may have made a mistake.
The proof of the pudding, and all that…
(Certainly, when testing the script, I used a very small, throwaway directory tree.)

@mutasem Sorry for the late reply.
Thanks for your answer. Downloading the workflow latest version and fixing the .json file made it.
And thank you forget for the 12 added applications cc @deanishe
Alphabetically reordering the list of the supported applications in your first post would be helpful

politicus reacted to vitor in RecentlyAdded — List directory contents by added date
Would have to look into it. But I’m not going to add it to the Workflow because seeing incomplete Downloads is useful (e.g. if you cancel a download and want to delete the incomplete file).

The proper way to do that is:
export ZSH=$HOME/oh-my-zsh

politicus got a reaction from Vero in Opening a browser tab to URL based on clipboard contents
I have a workflow that does that.
It copies some text in the clipboard. After I hit a magical keyboard shortcut, it opens a url with the format (URL/ClipboardContents) in a new tab in my favorite browser.
You combine a "hotkey action" (select "Pass through to workflow" and "selection in macOS") with an "open url" action (place {query} where you want your clipboardContent to appear) and you are good to go.
HTH.
@Vero you are too fast for me ;-)

politicus got a reaction from Easytiger in First snippet expansion in Alfred 3.3.2.
Hi,
Yesterday I updated Alfred to the latest version of Alfred (3.3.2) as I wanted to get rid of the little bug I encounter every time I expand a snippet for the first time of my session.
Alfred either expands the latest clipboard item or if the text of my snippet is "Alfred", Alfred expands "AAlfred".

politicus reacted to Vero in First snippet expansion in Alfred 3.3.2.
@politicus If that first "A" that remains is part of your keyword, it's likely that you either need to slow down key events (giving your Mac a fraction of a second longer to delete the keyword before pasting the snippet) or check for interfering apps that may also be trying to manipulate text.
More details here:
https://www.alfredapp.com/help/troubleshooting/snippets/#partial
Let me know how you get on
Cheers,
Vero

Thanks emb! For those not entirely clear on this, you can now find your "API Key" as needed in QuickTask for the akey command by going in Asana to My Profile Settings, then Apps, then Manage Developer Apps, and there choose Create New Personal Access Token.

+100
I would even say :
nX => Notex - {cursor} - {date:yyyy-MM-dd} - {cursor 1} Where I could go from to {cursor 1} via tab (navigate from cursor to cursor via tab).

Had to reinstall it. v1.1 didn't work anymore.
Feedback:
github.com -> v1.2
packal.org -> v1.1
Could you add the latest version of the workflow on packal.org.
Thank you!

Nice idea. A workflow I would really love to use.
Searching in Google Translate via Alfred is not as smooth as your workflow.
Had some issues while trying to install alfred via pip
clang: error: unknown argument: '-mno-fused-madd' [-Wunused-command-line-argument-hard-error-in-future] clang: note: this will be a hard error (cannot be downgraded to a warning) in the future error: command 'cc' failed with exit status 1 Mavericks user.

politicus got a reaction from dfay in Let me create a new folder when using the "Move To" action.
I just selected 10 files, wanted to move them in a new folder (one that doesn't already exist).
It would be awesome if I could move files in a folder that do not really exist.
After the "Move To" action is selected:
If the folder already exists, Alfred moves the files in the folder.
If the folder doesn't exist, let me type the new folder name, press enter and Alfred moves all the selected files in the newly created folder.
What do you think?
Or there is a better solution? @Vero?
Using the buffer feature seems to be slower than the "Move To" action in this case.

Awesome workflow.
Some feedback:
I think the preferred google maps domain should be .com not .de.
No big deal as it is very easy to modify in the workflow settings.
(Just did it).

politicus got a reaction from JoshFink in How is Alfred Different From MAC OS X Spotlight ?
Hi,
tl;dr I almost never really used Spotlight (even before I bought Alfred). As a Alfred user I use Alfred all the time (2 days ago, I used it 1045 times in single day. Yes, I did very repetitive thing that day. On a normal day I use it about 85/90 times). My answer is based on my experience with the Alfred Power Pack (OSX Mountain Lion).
Tow things to remember.
1°) Alfred is based on Spotlight (for the search part). Many features are similar (file search, calculator, dictionary,...).
2°) There is a free version of Alfred. And a paid one. The paid one let you unlock the true power of Alfred thanks to the workflows (little programs you or the awesome community members create (ruby, bash, zsh, applescript, python are supported). Do you remember "There is an app for that"? Well, in Alfred, it is (almost) "There is a workflow for that". Workflows range from admin to case converter, url shortener, web searches, files management, and so on. Alfred's forum, Packal.org and Github and great places to find awesome little workflows you will use everyday).
The main difference between Alfred and Spotlight, for me, is that it fits perfectly well in my workflow (makes me WAY more productive and is so easy to use) I find Alfred is a step breaker. Wanna delete 5 files in an obscure folder? Hit Cmd+Space, type your query, select the files in a buffer via a keyboard shortcut, hit tab, start typing delete then enter. And your done. 5 sec. Can you do that kind of thing with Spotlight? This is a basic example. You can do so MUCH more. Faster and in a easier way than with Spotlight.

politicus got a reaction from Dermod in Spotlight keywords/boleans support
I know that Alfred uses Spotlight for search.
Wouldn't it be great if one could use Alfred for any kind of query (.i.e. queries with keywords/booleans ... ). No more switching between Alfred (for simple queries) and Spotlight (for advanced queries).
So my question is how Spotlight advanced search features (keywords/boolean...) are supported by Alfred?
I would like to be able to use them in Alfred as I already can in Spotlight.
Feel free to move this topic to Features request
