Signature looks correct, but you also need to notarise it otherwise there’s going to be a dialog about how Apple wasn’t able to scan it for malicious software and it won’t run.

    First set up your credentials:

/usr/bin/xcrun notarytool store-credentials --apple-id 'YOUR EMAIL' --team-id 'YOUR TEAM ID'
To notarise a raw binary, first zip it then use notarytool on the zip:

/usr/bin/xcrun notarytool submit '/PATH/TO/THE/ZIP' --keychain-profile 'PROFILE NAME SET WITH store-screndials' --wait
After it returns successfully you can trash the zip, it’s only necessary to send it over. From then on, the first time a user runs your binary it’ll contact Apple’s servers to verify the notarisation then keep the information locally.

If you use Xcode, there should be a flow for notarising without having to leave it.

godbout reacted to TobiasMende in Audio Switcher (Swiftly switch audio output and input devices)
Hi folks, I built something today using Alfreds new Workflow Builder. Maybe you find it useful.

    Why this Workflow?
I find myself frequently switching between audio output and input devices. Existing solutions either are slow, take to many interactions or need third-party tools.
Therefore, this workflow offers a couple of features to make switching audio devices easier and faster.

It also allows filtering out devices you do not want to see in the suggestions.

In order to make it even faster, the workflow provides Hotkeys and Remote Triggers for up to three input and up to three output devices and comes with its own Remote page.

The workflow is of course configurable. 😁

    Some technical goodies:
This workflow does not need any third-party tools such as `SwitchAudioSource` or `jq`. It relies fully on Swift and ZSH, which should both be available in modern OS X Versions. Furthermore, as it does not contain binaries, code signing isn't an issue.

The code is on GitHub. The initial release (v1.0.1) is here https://github.com/TobiasMende/alfred-audio-switcher/releases/download/v1.0.1/alfred-audio-switcher.alfredworkflow

Should also be worth considering joining both workflows together for the next version, so people only have to install one. Or (I just thought of this while writing the previous sentence) even having a Script Filter that both shows the battery and allows for connecting and disconnecting (you shouldn’t be able to know battery levels anyway when AirPods are disconnected, I’d guess).

If you have an alternative icon, that would be helpful to further differentiate from the other AirPods workflow too. It surprised me a bit when I downloaded the Connector yesterday, as the icon in the notification was different from the one in the workflow.

good point. and very fair. thanks for the info.

well that was making sense for me to bundle it in the Workflow when it was only available from me and through GitHub, so that users had nothing to think about. but with the Gallery uniforming the Workflows installs, maybe users will get used to those notice about having to install the dependencies or that some dependencies are already bundled. so that changes things a bit and i'll have to rethink what's the best now. will depend on what i plan for the future, but my first feel is that the Gallery is the first place to go for Workflows, so that will influence my choice quite strongly. thank you! those notices are super welcomed.

ha excellent, thank you again! haven't touched those Workflows for a while and moved quickly onto other things. so great new knowledge. will digest, and most probably end up updating the Workflow. thank you again Vitor!

i see. clearly the Workflow and/or 1Password are not the culprit yeah. it's my own setup that's doing something weird. as stated in my response to Vero, it may be possible that it's 1Password not connecting to their own services when i'm on a VPN.

true, thanks. i would tend to avoid old software that are not maintained anymore tho. the path 1Password has chosen is the path they have chosen. that's fine. honestly if it was still making my day to day life better i wouldn't mind. the issue i'm currently having is not only related to the integration with Alfred, but to 1P itself that, for me, is making worse and worse UX decisions (requires more clicks to login etc.). anyways, thanks for taking the time. glad the Workflow and the integration usually do work well for thousands of users!

The challenge here is that this workflow has thousands of users but no other reports of this issue. Because you’re a power user (a programmer, even), it both means you know what you’re doing and we can discard the simpler stuff, but it also increases the possibility that something seemingly totally unrelated and external is causing the issue.

It is very much worth noting that 1Password 7 continues to work as well as it ever did, even on Apple Silicon (does not require Rosetta), and as such the deprecated 1Password 7 bookmarks feature in Alfred’s preferences should too.

@godbout This may be tricky to troubleshoot, as this is working smoothly across the board at the moment, so there'll be something specific happening on your Mac causing the issues you're seeing.

This may be obvious but please ensure you're up to date for both Alfred, the workflow, your preferred browser, 1PW8 and their browser plugin just in case there's a mismatch somewhere along the way.

Have you reported the issues you're seeing to the 1Password team?

I've updated Alfred KAT, and it's now wayyyyyyy faster (like 5 times). You can download torrents easily while avoiding all the popups.

@joetannenbaum in my case i was starting building an app for the Mac so it was a right time to dig into Swift. and also i've had several issues with my PHP workflows, between the PHP versions people would install through Homebrew and/or the M1/Intel installation paths. i still have those issues reported from time to time and it's painful to dig into this again. my brain is not done to handle several different things at one. so be ready to get some transfers

@godboutgreat job with the library! I just released v1.0.0 of my library, updated to reach feature parity with all of the new Alfred features (sorry it took so long to update). Just wanted to give you a heads up! You can find all of the documentation for the library here:

ok. if you wanna check the automatic update, do this:
    1. update the Workflow version to 2.0.0, rather than 2.1.0
    2. update the frequency check from 1440 to 0, so that an update will be checked in the background every time you bring a window in the foreground. that will not slow down the Workflow but it will use some extra resource
    3. use the Workflow and bring one window to the foreground at least. at that time the update info will be downloaded
    4. after a few seconds, the update will appear in the Alfred Results when you use the Workflow. see pic attached

yes, that's the name of the Workflow.

so i build 2 Mac apps (kindaVim and Wooshy) and for the latter more specifically i want to be able to bring any Window foreground. the Wooshy apps allows you to click anywhere through searching on the Dock, the Menu Bar, and the Frontmost Window. but sometimes the Window you want to get is not foreground and you can't bring it foreground with Alfred. so i made this Workflow.

i saw there are already 2 workflows out there but 1) one is a tad slow to my taste and grabs tabs which i have no interest about 2) another one is way too slow for me to be usable. so here you go: Wooshy — Window to the Foreground!

it's blazing fast. below you can see that you can reach bring stuff front like the Accessibility permission prompt (finally).

currently it's done for my needs, so it lists the Windows that are visible, not the hidden or miniaturized ones. if you use the Workflow and need those let me know. also it should work with any app but at the same time i've been dealing with the macOS AX for the past two years and i know from experience that there's always some surprise. so please report if you find apps with which it doesn't work. was made in a day so no heavy real life testing yet.
