Thanks. Now, is it possible to drill down to multiple nested folders? Or is it just for one level down?

Andrew's image is not displaying. Can someone reload it please? I have the exact same question. tx

Here's a different take: I'd sometimes like to open files or folders in a new tab (my default setting for finder), other times in a new WINDOW. Is there a way to create a command for the latter specifically WHEN the finder default is set to tabs only? tx

do you mean this? File Navigation Use Alfred to navigate through your Mac's file system. This is a great way to quickly make your way through folders without having to use the mouse. To start, type: / (slash) to take you to the root folder on your Mac, or ~ (tilde) to go to your user directory. If I could get a shortcut into a given directory like this: Macintosh HD ▸ Users ▸ jiporter ▸ Box Sync ▸ JP-PDFs ▸ Classics ▸ Literature ▸ Homer ▸ Homer-Reception ▸ I. Antiquity I might consider it, though I can get by with searching for the folder I. Antiquity and going from there. Too many things to remember!

THanks. I 've seen that document page. It isn't very thorough. I don't know enough to program, but did copy the existing example of a Dynamic File Search, which included a JSON element, so I just replicated that in order to drill one level deeper into the file structure (trying as I mentioned to find folders inside of folders). I haven't tried deleted the second JSON utility (see chart above) because it seems to be working, more or less. The trouble is that I have a zillion folders; keeping track of their names is nigh impossible. But I do know that they have a relative location, and was hoping to simplify life by finding a way to drill down.

Ability to disable workflows for certain Mac
jipnet replied to mcskrzypczak's topic in Alfred Feature Suggestions
I have the same question. -
also trying to understand how to extend (modify) the existing example workflow; I think I need to copy and paste, but can't seem to get the connections to go; and I really don't get how many levels to ask for (sub-folder levels); I'd like that to be dynamic, so that I can stop at any point and continue if needed till I reach the desired endpoint.

Thanks. I use both, but what I want to do is to find a file within a folder within a folder (eg folder "PDFs", containing folder "Freud", containing Folder "Jews", containing a file X). How do I drill down using either workflow? All I get after "ff" [plugging in the relevant parent, ie Freud] is "Find Files in a specific folder" (asking for the name of a file, not folder).

strange characters showing in Alfred not in the Finder
jipnet replied to jipnet's topic in Discussion & Help
Thanks. The problem is that they appear ONLY in Alfred app. Maybe I need to reveal invisible files, since they are not showing in the finder. UPDATE: just found this which exposed the files and made them deletable: Since the release of macOS Sierra, when in Finder, it is now possible to use the shortcut: CMD + SHIFT + . -
strange characters showing in Alfred not in the Finder

PS: These have doublets which are the real files without the Tilda/Dollar Sign. -
I see files like this occasionally: They don't appear in the finder itself. Are they caches? Is there a way to delete them (systematically or otherwise)? thanks. PS: These have doublets which are the real files without the Tilda/Dollar Sign.

BTW, I think it would be helpful if Alfred documentation noted the difference between "file" and "folder" when speaking of the find instruction. That is what threw me off initially. Perhaps more logically, for purposes of description: find object, where object can be variously specified as file, folder, image, sound file, movie file, etc.
