  1. It's unlikely that this will make it into Alfred by default, but this could be an interesting project for somebody to do as a workflow
  2. At this point, 1Password 4 only exports a single URL in the 3rd party support file. Once 1Pwd 4 settles in, it might be worth raising a feature request with them to plant the seed for enhanced 3rd party integration support with e.g. Alfred
  3. Hi Tim, It looks like Mavericks "Smart Quotes" is changing the quotation marks to unicode quotes instead of the straight up quotes. I had turned this auto substitution off automatically in almost every other place, but it looks like Alfred's AppleScript editor was overlooked. I'll get this fixed in the next release, but for now, if you right click in the text area where the AppleScript is being edited, select 'substitutions' and turn off "Smart Quotes", then you'll be able to get the AppleScript working with "iTerm". Cheers, Andrew
  4. It sounds like you have some keyboard mapping going on somewhere (maybe a 3rd party keyboard remap tool?) which is causing e.g. ctrl to trigger, showing the actions panel, then recent documents. You can either turn off any custom keyboard remapping, or if you open Alfred's preferences to Features > File Search > Actions and un-tick e.g. ctrl, then this issue should go away. Cheers, Andrew Related topic: http://www.alfredforum.com/topic/3402-keys-remapped-via-keyremap4macbook-doesnt-work/
  5. I've added a task ticket to investigate this further in the future... I may raise a bug with Apple so that Alfred doesn't have to put in a workaround for the missing icon.
  6. I see this too... Use 'Get Info' in Finder for Notifications, and you'll see that e.g. the Mouse preference pane shows just the mouse same as Alfred, and the Notifications preferences pane shows the generic preferences icon, again same as Alfred... so this looks like OS X's Notifications is missing the relevant large size normal icon which is fed to Alfred (and Finder).
  7. Under Alfred's 'Advanced' iPassword preferences (button in the bottom right), make sure 'Discover Automatically' is ticked. If it is, pop an email to info@alfredapp com and I'll help you out... with 1Password 4, it shouldn't matter if you have passwords syncing or not as Alfred uses the 3rd party bookmark file which should always be in the same place Cheers, Andrew
  8. Spotlight may do caching for preference panes, but there is definitely something funny going on outside of Alfred's control. I still haven't seen this happen, and it hasn't been reported outside of this thread... it's definitely metadata related though, so outside of Alfred's control. If I see this becoming a wider spread problem (or if there is a bug in OS X which Apple don't fix), then I'll add a ticket to manually include these in Alfred's results. Also, when you see one not showing an icon in Alfred, take a look at that particular one in Finder as it likely won't see the icon either. Cheers, Andrew
  9. This is actually missing its searchable metadata. If you pop another prefpane one into the Alfred metadata tool, you'll see what the metadata should look like. If you temporarily rename this prefpane and then name it back again, this usually kicks OS X into reindexing an individual file. If the metadata is missing, then OS X won't return this to Alfred as a search result. Cheers, Andrew
  10. Just to add my few pence to this conversation... all of these issues is something that I'm very much aware of and something I definitely aim to facilitate improvements in the future
  11. I've merged this back into the original topic as more info is needed. Cheers, Andrew
  12. Alfred's clipboard history ignore is based on the currently active application, so in this case Google Chrome is the active application and it's not ignored. As Tyler spotted, 1Password 4 works. This is a special case as I worked directly with Agile Bits to make sure Alfred understood the 1Password clipboard metadata and can ignore the clipboard data in all cases. Cheers, Andrew [moving to closed]
  13. Sorry about this, I wasn't even aware that there was a limit set. I'll ask Vero to investigate and sort this tomorrow morning (it's 11pm here now). Cheers, Andrew
  14. Start by clearing the cache in Alfred by typing 'reload' and see how you get on. Cheers, Andrew [Moving to the help sub-forum, I'd like to keep the bug forum for bug reports only. We can always move topics from the help sub-forum to bugs if relevant]
  15. This is usually down to a bad install of php in OS X (Alfred uses php to do a second level verification of the downloaded binary signature before updating). The easiest thing to do to just get the latest version is just download Alfred from the website directly and replace the binary. [moving to help sub-forum]
  16. This is the exact reason workflows exist! So that you can configure Alfred to filter in any way you like, for your specific purpose. In fact, the file folder one is a built in example under the [+] button in the Workflow prefs
  17. If your Mac and Spotlight are running as they should, you should never have to reindex. If you are finding that you are getting issues over and over, it might be something corrupted at a lower level in Spotlight's index. You may be better doing a full low level reindex using this method: http://skillzdesign.com/blog/clarifies/forcing-spotlight-reindexing-using-terminal/ Cheers, Andrew
  18. Hi Alan, I gave the same answer in that thread as I gave to you… there is no bug, you simply need to set the volumes you want to see in the eject commands. The 3 different types are defined by OS X itself, Alfred is simply passing these options on to you. "Removable Media" only represents e.g. USB keys and SD cards, so you'll likely need to select "Local Mounted Volumes" if the default isn't showing the drives you want to see. Also, I am the creator of Alfred and am very active on this forum. You'll see in the thread you linked to how I responded immediately (within 2 minutes) with the solution… in the same way as I responded to you here. I'd hope that this isn't just another one of "these forums" Cheers, Andrew
  19. No timescales, but there is still a big number of workflow improvements in the works.
  20. By default, Alfred searches based on capital letters to make things much more accurate in the results. You have two options... 1. If FireFox is a special case, add a spotlight comment of 'ff' to Firefox and then Alfred will find this when you type ff. This is recommended as you can keep the accuracy for all other searches. 2. Change the App fuzzy mode to word boundaries in Alfred's Advanced preferences, then ff will match Firefox. It's also worth noting that the cache may have just not caught up for your first search as Alfred will always match HereFileFile for ff Cheers, Andrew
  21. It might just be that you don't have any removable media plugged in. Try changing the scope under the 'eject' preferences to 'Local Mounted Volumes' Cheers, Andrew [moving to help sub-forum]
  22. To accept this as a bug report, I'm going to need a bit more specific details as these are simply files returned by OS X's metadata server and shouldn't be any different to any other files on your system. Could you drag the ones which aren't being found into the tool below: http://cachefly.alfredapp.com/tools/AlfredMetadataTool_v1.0.zip Also, as this is only being experienced by one or two people, are there any other tools you have installed on your Mac which could be interfering... such as system cleaning utilities etc. Cheers, Andrew
  23. As I said before, Alfred is simply reading the plist files saved by other applications, so if your most recent documents are missing from the app's plist files, Alfred won't show them. I've now tested this with a few different apps and the recent documents is updating as expected and fast. 1. Did you try creating a new user account and testing there like I suggested? 2. Which apps in particular are you not seeing recent documents updated for? 3. Try Preview.app and TextEdit.app and their recent document listings.
  24. These options are actually unrelated. The fade means the Alfred window appearing gradually when you first show him. The numbers fade out in every situation where there are more than 9 results as naturally there is no cmd+10 and up. It shouldn't affect usability too much as you can pretty much guess which number is which on the last few that fade out. [moving to noted]
