@albertkinng It's always worth asking the Taskade community (e.g. if they have a forum) as there are most likely cross-over fans of Taskade and Alfred who have the right knowledge to help create such a workflow.

Every API is unique in what it provides, and APIs can be simple or complex depending on the features or data they provide.

If you're comfortable with programming, and can read documentation (assuming the API documentation is thorough and clear), then programming a tool to use an API doesn't have to be too complex.

Having said that, in your case, you will need to write some code to use this API. If you're not comfortable with that, it might be worth waiting for a user on this forum who has an interest in Taskade to help with this. Alternatively, ask the Taskade community?

@albertkinng It looks like you're using Alfred 4 which is too new for macOS Yosemite (Alfred 4's minimum required OS is 10.11 El Capitan).

You'll need to use Alfred 3 which you can find here:
    https://www.alfredapp.com/help/v3/

    Cheers,

I am having the same problem, and it seems to have appeared around the same time as the OP.  If I typed "update" or "software"  in Alfred, previously it would suggest to me to open the System settings -  Software Update.  Now, it shows nothing.  Typing the same in spotlight works as expected.

I tried rebuilding the cache and doing an alfred Reset after cache, but it changed nothing.

It took about an hour for me to finally get this workflow to work as a non-technical user.

Just wanted to share some key pointers so others in a similar position can get this up and running asap:
Even as an existing paid ChatGPT WebUI user, after generating your API key, you need to set up payment to use the API needed for this workflow. I had free credits which had already expired. You can do so here: https://platform.openai.com/account/billing/overview I used Homebrew to install the latest Python 3.11 and its dependencies. This was not easy to figure out, and I followed this YouTube video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6sJ0qKTyJnc I suspect this Homebrew installation is not needed as some users above have mentioned it comes preinstalled with MacOS (or something like that). This was not necessary (as mentioned by vitor in the next post). Go to ~/Library/Application Support/Alfred/Workflow Data/ and open the file ChatFred_Error.log to self-solve problems easily. There are other ways to troubleshoot as written by OP here: https://github.com/chrislemke/ChatFred/#troubleshooting-️ but I found reading this log file to be the most helpful. The last hurdle I encountered was being presented with the error message The model: `gpt-4` does not exist. After some research, I've found that it is required to enter a waitlist for access to the gpt-4 API: https://openai.com/waitlist/gpt-4-api I will just use ChatGPT 3.5 in this workflow for the time being.

Transformation using chatGPT itself. Below is the screenshot

I use universal action and use send to chatGPT (press shift key) and get a summary or re-phrased version of the content. would like to see how I can get multiple options such as "summarize", and "list top 10 bullet points" in universal action on selected text.

albertkinng reacted to vitor in Scanned workflows and ask to delete the legacy ones??
By this point that issue isn’t common at all. I can say this with confidence because I’ve walked people through it and could feel the tail of it disappearing.

As we’ve covered before, this is due to Apple removing languages from macOS. Those are simple to add back, we’ve made it so it takes literally one command to install a language. If it’s a Gallery workflow, it’s even more straightforward and can deal with even more dependencies.

Python 2 is the only special case which may need modified workflows and we’ve covered that as well.

As the saying goes, we can take a horse to water but we can’t make it drink. We worked hard to make the road to the water really nice, though.

If you don’t want to follow the steps, you can disable the workflow right from the window you posted. It’s one click which only has to be done once. You can then find alternatives for it (the Gallery’s selection keeps growing) or build them yourself with new features (there’s an Automation Task to shorten URLs).

In that context is it any help at all if you click on Gallery at the bottom of the workflow list in Alfred → Preferences and choose Resolve Dependencies…? (I can't check that because I don't have any workflows the dependencies of which need to be resolved.)

Ok. I didn’t wanted to sound rude either. Sorry if it’s sounded like that. As I explained when you download the app you can choose to have a subscription or pay a one time payment for lifetime (it’s called Premium) otherwise I will be still using Bear Notes app (the app I was using until find out about Spaces) anyway the dev is working for a solution right now, thanks for the tip.

If I wanted something complicated i just get a copy of Quicksilver or Launchbar but I choose Alfred for the simplicity to add complicated tasks. now it seems I bought V2 and I don't know where to start.

and I mean I received a receipt but never the serial number!! and that's just the start!

I've got tons of hotkeys set up, AppleScripts mapped, extensions added, and other minor customizations done like custom searches. From what I gather, migration from v1 to v2 wasn't a priority and we're told that there might be a one-time workflow created to accomplish this. I was an early adopter of Alfred, bought the first Power Pack, and immediately bought the v2 one as soon as I heard.

I'm supposed to dutifully migrate each hotkey from the simple interface in Alfred v1 over to the Workflow system in v2? Forget all of the extensions I had before and search for new workflows? Manually and tediously copy over my AppleScripts? I'm looking over the "Templates" in Workflows and it took me two tries to find one to make a global hotkey open an app. The old interface was drop-dead simple: drag app into the Global Hotkey pane, pick a hotkey, and finished. It was delightful.

Long story short, I am *not* manually importing all this. Figure this out or I'm getting a refund.
