@Thomask Which version of Airmail are you on? I just tried it with the latest currently available on the Mac App Store (5.5.3) and it works fine.

Holy toledo, this update has finally fixed it! I'd given up on this ever being fixed (and in fact, on 5.5.x I let myself be frustrated that it wasn't) but after two years and then some, it's finally working as it should!

I've always been curious about the percentage of non-coders in Alfred's Powerpack user base.

I'm a music teacher. I've tried to learning Javascript (for apps like Drafts and Omni Automation) before but I haven't really been successful. My interest in learning Python would only be to write my own Alfred workflows, but others are doing a good enough job that the fact I'll probably never find the time doesn't bother me. Alfred speeds up my work more than anything else, and while I'd love to be able to take that further, I probably won't ever be in a position to.

@Ustrich I've had a reply from Airmail who advise that you should update to the latest version of Airmail 3. They haven't provided further details as to whether Airmail 2 is incompatible with macOS Catalina, but I would guess that could be why.

@Ehler I'm not sure whether you've resolved the issue you were seeing in December, but the same answer applies where the Airmail support folks are asking users to please ensure they're on the latest version.

Let me know how you get on :)

    Cheers,

I went in and took away full disc access and added it again, and no dice. I'm likewise on 3.6.73 (build 557) and getting an error from Apple Events when invoking this from Airmail in the Console.

ERROR: Failed to create a desc with expected type (is 'furl' should be 'TEXT')

Hi, as I am currently in Australia, I've set the COUNTRY as u'AU' following your suggestions. However there's always an annoying delay before the exact song popping up. Is there anything I can do with it?

I think it's just a bit slow by nature. While it might feel slower than most Alfred workflows, compare it to how sluggish iTunes normally is for pulling up Apple Music results.

Beautiful! Adding the natural language parsing makes this so much smoother than Quick Entry (and looks better!). (Hoping Omnigroup keeps this Applescript exposed in 2.0...)

I added a Hotkey Trigger ("box") to the workflow so that I could access it via keyboard shortcut without even having to invoke Alfred. That also allows us to set the Argument field to "Selection in OS X". This pulls in any text you have selected before invoking the hotkey!

Here's the workflow with that modification: New Omnifocus Inbox Task

(Alfred imports Hotkey Triggers, but strips out the hotkey assignments, so you'll need to double click the hotkey step/box and press your desired hotkey. I used ⇧⌃A which works well for the scheme _mk_ recommends for his OF Task Actions workflow.)

Thanks everyone for your contributions to this workflow!

UPDATE 2013-06-21: fixed broken download link

So I'm still using this workflow 5 years later and it rocks… any way to update it to work with tags?

In the future, when requesting a workflow for  a specific application, please consider adding a link to the application.

It makes it much easier for people who know all about workflows, but have never heard of that specific application, to give you a quick "possible/not possible" answer.

Thanks!  Here’s a link to Flexibits’ site.  OP might not have thought of it because it had been heavily featured on the front page of the Mac App Store and making the rounds of several blogs.  Flexibits doesn’t mention the URL capabilities on its site.

  7. I emailed Flexibits about this, and they confirmed that there was no AppleScript support.  There is however a URL handler:

    x-cardhop://parse?s=<input from Alfred>

is what was quoted to me in an email.  Hope this helps anyone already using the app/trying to develop a workflow!

  8. I often find myself wanting to AirDrop a file or iMessage an image, and I do a large portion of my file management with Alfred, however I have to dart into Finder to do these things.  It would be nice if a Share action could be implemented into File Search, perhaps just another window of actions within file search, perhaps some other way.
