I use snippets to paste certain characters via the Alfred clipboard manager. For example, I have the single character prime in a snippet named "prime". To insert the character, I open the clipboard manager, type prime, type return, and expect that single character to be pasted.
This works correctly in many applications, but not in microsoft Word. In Word, an extra space is always inserted before the intended text, e.g. instead of <A′> I get <A ′>. The character is pasted correctly into Word if I open the snippet editor and use cmd-A cmd-C and then cmd-V in Word.
Why might the extra space be created in Word?
