  1. How do you "select no workflow in the sidebar" ? there is always one selected and I can't find a way to see this: thank you for your patience
  2. Hello, my morning routine consists of opening mail, DevonThink, and others. If I open all at the same time, my mac can freeze because mail and DevonThink for example are enormous. I want to emulate the example below taken from your get started guide which I found on the Internet. In the workflow below, how would I add delays (for example 3 minutes) between each action when I type the keyword morning. thanks in advance for your time and help
  3. In the user manual, I read the following, but can't find it. I go to alfred pref → click on workflows, and then what ? thanks in advance for your time and help Creating a workflow To get started with these guides, open Alfred's preferences to the Workflows preferences. With no workflow selected in the sidebar, you'll see a block of options in the centre of the canvas; Choose the "Getting Started Guide". 4. Hello, I very much like the display large type action in situation where I have to remember to do something as soon as I come back to my computer. Unfortunately, I find that it is not of any practical use for me because anytime I put the display to sleep before leaving or wake it up upon return, or if any window flashes onto my screen in my absence or if I accidentally trackpad tap or mouse click the message disappears. Would there be a way to make it more resilient, for example for the displayed large text to remain in place until I do something like press escape of close the window ? thanks in advance for your time and help
  5. where is new ? in features → web search thank you for your reply

  7. thank you very much @vitor for moving my question to this page. It is greatly appreciated and I will remember for the future. Sorry for the trouble. when I type grconf in alfred nothing happens as in
  8. I just installed the goodreads workflow by the excellent @deanishe If I type the keyword BK, all I end up with is a google search. During the installation process, users are told to et an API key via "grconf" or the workflow won't work. How is this done ? I can't find the answer is neither alfred forum nor support. thanks in advance for your time and help Debug (I replaced my name with XXXX) I typed BK The Prince (searching for book with title The Prince) [20:05:24.585] Logging Started... 9. I could not find such a workflow neither in the gallery nor in the forum. thanks in advance for your time and help
  10. Hello @Kupe and thank you for your interesting comments. You have a good point but it is the eternal problem of the small Alfred window displaying the results. You see 9 files only at a time and requiring tedious scrolling to see more files, a far cry from any file manager which is full page and can display 50+ files without having to scroll. I would be very interested in knowing how you deal with this issue. There must be something that I am missing. My problem is that I am not very intelligent (according to my spouse) and I end up constantly going from Finder to Forklift to Pathfinder multiple times a day. If I use these types of workflow, I am concerned that I will for example highlight a file in pathfinder, run the workflow and accidentally move the currently highlighted file in Finder or Forklift which could lead to a disaster. The problem with file managers is that each one has some unique features, so I end up using them all. thank you for your comment
  11. thank you @Stephen_C ! May I ask which file manager you use ? I am just starting with Forklift and am open to working with another. I decided to quit pathfinder because of subscription costs, bugs and atrocious support.
  12. Works perfectly. thanks very much @Andrew , and thanks again for your time and effort @jordikt
  13. Sorry: same problem. Sometimes works, other times screen just flashes. It's all fine. I am concerned you are spending too much time on this. I can use the slow method.
  14. thanks @jordikt The script is definitely blocking AppleScript . The old version definitely does not work after restarting BTT. The new script unfortunately is worst than my original. Double flash on the screen. All that being said, i remain extremely grateful for your time and help
  15. I tested it. Unfortunately, sometimes it works fine, sometimes the alfred pref window simply flashes on the screen and I remain the app I was using at the time I triggered BTT. Could the script require a delay ? thanks again
  16. Hello, I can't figure out how to write a workflow to 1- search for folders in my home folder 2- 2 options: display subfolders that I can open in Forklift or open that folder in Forklift thanks in advance for your time and help
