  1. thank you @jordikt. I will modify BTT accordingly. with end tell at the end , after return 1 ?
  2. thank you @vitor and @Stephen_C I wrote a Better Touch Tool gesture to type ⌥ spacebar→ insert text by typing Show Alfred Preferences
  3. To access my workflows, I am constantly triggering Alfred (Opt Spacebar) , then type "preferences" . There must be a faster way via keyboard shortcut, but I can find one in preferences. thanks in advance for your time and help
  4. It's now crystal clear. thank you SO MUCH @vitor. I was totally confused.
  5. If I right click on file filter → input after → I get the arrangement below. As you can see, I end up with 2 workflow object in series instead of open file and revel file in parallel. There must be something major that I am not understanding. thank you for your reply and patience.
  6. Let's assume that I had only 2 workflow objects: file filter and open file, and that I wanted to add the reveal file in finder workflow object. When I right click on the File Filter workflow object, I have 2 options: input before and input after, and neither of them inserts a workflow after the first and parallel to the open file workflow object. I read the support site and could not find the answer thanks in advance for your time and help
  7. I restarted Scrivener and it works now. Very sorry for having taken your time @vitor
  8. no just for privacy reasons, as I was instructed in this forum to do. thank you for your post.
  9. Hello, There must be something obviously wrong with this simple workflow. This works fine with Keyboard Maestro, ie using the URL action with the document URL and open with Scrivener thanks in advance for your time and help Link to document x-scrivener-item:///Users/XXXXXX/Documents/Scrivener%20scriv%20files/A5%20LAPTOP%20PORTRAIT%20notes%20and%20docs%20only%20ExportDocxSet.scriv?id=B1045437-184B-47B0-ACC5-442B5B9F61E8
  10. it's all clear. I will follow your suggestions. Thank you very much @Vero and @Stephen_C !!
  11. sorry to pester you on a Sunday. I will adopt your method, and would like to know how, using the sync on a single mac, you would restore alfred settings in case of an alfred catastrophe (not a general mac catastrophe). thank you again very much
  12. I understand completely and use both modalities (Dropbox and CCC). If you backup with CCC, might as well use the config files in the library which are also backed up assuming you make a clone. Would it make sense to duplicate and add a date time stamp to the sync file ? thank you
  13. I am only using one Mac. I am not discussing syncing 2 macs. I read about Alfred Sync in on the support site. It states that a sync can be used as a backup which I don't understand because any catastrophic error I make in Alfred would immediately be copies to the sync file. A backup (export) on the contrary has a date/time stamp which allows me to restore. thanks in advance for your time and help
  14. thank you again @Vero I switched for Pathfinder and Forklift as a file manager. After doing some testing, I found that this behaviour is native to Forklift when you drag and drop into the trash bin.
  15. @Vero Monterey 12.6.5 when I drag Alfred 4 from the applications folder into the trash I see the menu below. do I uncheck all and check only the app ? I have no clue why I see "application deleter" when I have none. Thank you
  16. Hello, I am using Alfred 5 and found that Alfred 4 is also present in my applications folder. May I just delete the alfred 4.app file or should I do a more extensive deletion, including folders and files in the application support folder, etc. thanks in advance for your time and help
  17. Yes, 5.1. All clear. Thank you Vero ! I created the following ScreenShot to help less experiences users like me.
  18. I read this in Alfred Help → Dependencies Check for dependencies in Alfred Preferences > Workflows > Alfred Gallery (bottom left on the list) > Resolve Dependencies... I am going bananas because I can't find "Resolve Dependencies" thank you
  19. @vitor thanks very much for a crystal clear explanation. I will follow your instructions.
  20. sorry for having missed that. No wonder I could not find the clock app. thanks very much @vitor
  21. When troubleshooting a workflow it is common procedure to post the output of the debugger. In its original form, the name of the user would be listed in the path and end up being posted in a public forum. I suggest using the tilde ~. In the example below, I changed the user name to a ~ thank you for considering my request. 22. Hello, great workflow. thank you. appid works fine, but av which is most useful for me, does not. thank you very much [09:08:30.408] AppID[Script Filter] Queuing argument '(null)' [09:08:30.495] AppID[Script Filter] Script with argv '(null)' finished [09:08:30.496] ERROR: AppID[Script Filter] Code 127:~/Library/Caches/com.runningwithcrayons.Alfred/Workflow Scripts/DBA22BEA-10A5-4B77-8C71-2956468F8264: line 1: node: command not found
