  1. Thanks for your input. If that is so, the "Install Python" section (from the troubleshooting Readme from OP) needs to be updated, because running python --version yielded no results for me. Actually even now (after my Homebrew Python installation) it doesn't yield any results, so this part of the Readme is definitely a bit wonky.
  2. It took about an hour for me to finally get this workflow to work as a non-technical user. Just wanted to share some key pointers so others in a similar position can get this up and running asap: Even as an existing paid ChatGPT WebUI user, after generating your API key, you need to set up payment to use the API needed for this workflow. I had free credits which had already expired. You can do so here: https://platform.openai.com/account/billing/overview I used Homebrew to install the latest Python 3.11 and its dependencies. This was not easy to figure out, and I followed this YouTube video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6sJ0qKTyJnc I suspect this Homebrew installation is not needed as some users above have mentioned it comes preinstalled with MacOS (or something like that). This was not necessary (as mentioned by vitor in the next post). Go to ~/Library/Application Support/Alfred/Workflow Data/ and open the file ChatFred_Error.log to self-solve problems easily. There are other ways to troubleshoot as written by OP here: https://github.com/chrislemke/ChatFred/#troubleshooting-️ but I found reading this log file to be the most helpful. The last hurdle I encountered was being presented with the error message The model: `gpt-4` does not exist. After some research, I've found that it is required to enter a waitlist for access to the gpt-4 API: https://openai.com/waitlist/gpt-4-api I will just use ChatGPT 3.5 in this workflow for the time being.
  3. Just updated to 13.4 and looks like it indeed has been fixed!
  4. Yes I have a new MacBook that came pre-installed with Ventura and this issue persists to this day.
  5. Just bought a new MacBook with Ventura pre-installed and currently encountering this exact problem.
  6. Great workflow! Just installed and everything works as instructed. However, I want the original file to be left alone and a compressed copy to be made (in the same folder). How do I do that?
  7. Is it possible to find a file using a specific phrase? In Google you would place that phrase under quotation marks. Tried looking at documentation and searchd the forums, no luck. For example: I want to find a picture of an "apple pie" and my computer has loads of images with the separated words apple and pie.
  8. Ah that worked! Looking at Alfred's Preferences Features > Default Results > Extras, I can see that "Video" is not part of the default set of tickable file types and that is probably what is causing my issues. Is there anyway to easily add "videos" as a file type rather than having to manually add extensions like .mp4? ------------------------------------ Also, it looks like that spacebar trick (aka the "open" keyword) cannot find a file if I enter its extension. (❌video1.mp4 ✅video1). Is there a way to make it accept a file's extension as well?
  9. @Vero My apologies ! Which version of Alfred and macOS are you using? Alfred - 4.5.1 [1256] MacOS - 10.14.6 (18G6032) Was the file found when you moved it to the Desktop? No, Alfred couldn't find it even after it was moved to desktop (picture below). Spotlight could find it in its original location and desktop. What exactly are you typing into Alfred to find the file? I've tried the full name with extension and smaller clips of the name (nothing works). Output of the troubleshooter: =========================================================== Here is some new information… There are some other files in the same folder, some of which can be found (.png) but not others (ending in .cnc3replay). Spotlight has no trouble finding any of the problematic files, anywhere. Alfred could find the parent folder "Replays". Troubleshooting one of the .cnc3replay files produced a warning:
  10. Hi there, Alfred is unable to find a file despite passing "File Search Troubleshooting". Other things I have tried: Finding other files within the same folder (it can find them) Moving the file out onto desktop, and back in folder (still unable to find) Renaming the folder Any ideas?
  11. @Vero Point #3 actually did the trick. The original name of the holder is ‘Scan’. Changing it to ‘Scanned’ immediately enabled it to be found with Alfred. However, switching its name back withdrew it from the search yet again. After changing its name back to ‘Scan’ and adding the folder to the Search Scope of Alfred, I can finally find the folder. Thanks Vero, the problem is solved. MacOS High Sierra: 10.13.6 (17G65) Alfred 3.6.1 [910]
  12. Hi @Vero I am on a Dropbox Basic account, I have checked that the Smart Sync feature is not available to me. I have done as you said with dragging the elusive folder in and out of System Preferences > Spotlight > Privacy but to no avail. The problem persists. Regards, EricCartman
  13. I'm not sure when the issue started (probably a few weeks by my estimates), but I can't seem to find a specific folder in my Dropbox folder (called 'Scan' for referential purposes) despite specifically adding it to the Search Scope. Specifics: I can find every sub-folder and file within via Alfred search I can find every same-level folder via Alfred search I can find aforementioned 'Scan' folder via Spotlight search and all files within What should I do?
  14. Hey everyone! So I've this is more of an annoyance rather than a broken feature. A lot of the time when I use Alfred to jump straight into a YouTube search with "YouTube …", it gives me a fully loaded blank screen as shown in the attached file. What I have to do then is simple reload the page with CMD+R and all is well. Does anyone know how to fix this? In the attachment example, I've input "Youtube how to defragment mac" into Alfred and was given a blank search result (this is a fully loaded screen).
