  1. It would be great when you say that "we have over a dozen examples and over 40 templates" (or words to that effect) if you appended that webpage (Alfred Blog > Tips and Tricks > Learn to Create Workflows with Alfred's Built-In Examples) with a follow-on webpage and link with a list of those examples and templates that you speak of, serving as a repository for us to go to for a one stop place to download from.
  2. Thanks for your insight and inspiration on how to use Remote; as I gain some experience with the nuances of Alfred, I am sure I will someday "see the light" and have an epiphany about what Alfred and the Remote have the potential for.
  3. I understand that I can copy the Open Apps examples, paste in my 3rd party apps and start them using the example workflow; What I don't understand is, what do I do with the apps from my remote after I have opened them. There is no keyboard interface that comes with the workflows so I can't edit the files I open in these apps; so why bother opening an app from my remote if I can't do anything with it after I open it??? I may seem to be as dumb as a post to you but I just don't get it. (at least not yet)(I haven't quit trying).
  4. How do you install the Sound Bank files into a workflow; I tried dragging them in to a play sound notification module and that did not work. I read the Readme file on the installation package; it does not give instructions on how to install the sound files.
  5. It would be great if the workflow sidebar could be flexible making it convenient for me to resize it to fit my workflow descriptions.
  6. My Alfred version is:

    Alfred 3.6.1

    Build 910, Monday 9th April 2018

I am running Microsoft Office 2016.

I am using the canned workflow examples provided with Alfred; I am only adding in my variables at the application, folder and file levels of the scripts.

  7. I am trying to customize the workflow examples that come with Alfred to do some simple workflows; just opening my applications, folders and files; while the workflow examples seem to be opening Chrome web browser and Safari just fine, they are not opening my Microsoft applications and files; the workflow examples ARE opening the MAC OS APPLICATIONS as well. Is there a compatibility issue with Microsoft office applications? Or, are the workflow example scripts trying to establish a link between my user account and the applications?
  8. When I am setting up my workflows, I get the popup "Click the + button in the top right of your workflow and choose Inputs" but there is no + button on the top right of my workflow window.  How do I introduce variables if I don't have the features described?  Should I reinstall Alfred?

  9. I am having trouble with the terminal command in my workflows.  I keep writing in variables before, after and replacing QUERY but every time I run the script, Alfred erases my input and repopulates the field with the original query and my workflow does not produce any results.

Can someone please help me with the syntax of the terminal command or tell me what I am doing wrong?

After days of futile attempts to run Alfred workflows by clicking on the terminal module, I finally figured out (on my own without the help of Alfred Technical Support) that I was supposed to right-click (secondary click) on the terminal command module or the hotkey to launch the workflow; it struck me right on the head that I had been blindly trying to launch workflows by clicking on the run script dialog box.  VOILA, I am now at a place where I can make more sense of the help files and tutorials on the Alfred website.
