  1. Turns out the culprit for this bug appears to be macOS, not Alfred. I filed an FB ticket with Apple about it (related to PPPC permissions about ScreenCapture) so hopefully it won't make it all the way to the 14.4 release.

  2. Just a friendly check in to see how things are cooking in Alfred's kitchen. We're approaching a short-term record for time between updates (last one was Dec '22 build 2110 → Apr '23 b2134) so I thought now might be an OK time to check in and ask. Alfred's running fine for me but Sonoma 14.4 seems to be breaking some stuff here and there so I'm hoping there might be at least some small updates or tweaks.

  3. The new "Resolve Dependencies" feature is pretty neat and handy! One possible change that would be useful is on this screen:

Instead of just listing the formulae needed, it would be nice for a column called "used by" or "used in" to list the workflow that requires it (if it's used by >1 then just listing the first one would be fine)

This way we could decide if we want to download a large package or potentially just do some housekeeping and remove a workflow that might no longer be useful.

  4. macOS 14.1.1, Alfred 5.1.4 Build 2195

Some days (weeks?) ago I clicked "Check for Workflow Updates". A few workflows had actual updates, but there is one (ChatFred) which has an older version 1.5.3 on the Gallery vs. the actual latest release 1.6.1 on GitHub. So I chose to keep the newer version.

My question is: how can I clear the "Update available" badge that is obscuring the workflow's icon? :

  5. @Vero Sorry, yes! I'm using that same undocumented preference setting, and yes I'm on Sonoma 14.1 (23B74) + Alfred 5.1.4.2195, same as @Hedgehog

Also, deleting /Library/Preferences/FeatureFlags/Domain/UIKit.plist and logging out and back in isn't enough. A full reboot is required. I guess this is not a user-level thing.

  6. Just came to report the same thing! So far I've only noticed the "mysterious missing cursor" in Alfred's windows. Interestingly, it seems to affect ALL text fields throughout the app, including the Preferences and Workflow text search fields.

I tried changing Focus Mode to Compatibility, and it DID fix it... ONCE. The first time I invoked Alfred after making that switch, the blinking cursor reappeared. But, after dismissing him and then re-invoking, the cursor was gone again. Changing back to Standard, and then back to Compatibility made the cursor reappear exactly once. Very strange stuff.

Here are some little clips that show it

  7. Alfred 5.1.3 [2174]

Bit of an odd question, but I noticed today that when Script Filters are triggered via a Hotkey, they appear with the workflow's icon at the top right, like this:

But, the same Script Filter, triggered via its own keyword, is missing the icon (or shows Alfred's hat if configured in Theme settings)

I was wondering if this was intentional, and is there any way to manually control whether the icon appears or not in the Script Filter configuration itself? It would be nice to actually have it display the icon in certain cases.
