you can also drag and drop from alfred into the dialog box

Skone got a reaction from universe in Feature Request - Browse in Alfred - Add More Sorting Options (e.g., Date Added)
x2 please - 'sort by date added' would be very useful.
Use case: Like a precision version of the 'recents' folder when using alfred file explorer. 90% of the time I'm looking for the most recently added file to a folder when navigating folders.

Skone got a reaction from Davin in Alfred 5 suggestion: Find image on screen and click mouse
This feature would be a fantastic addition to Alfred: the screenshot below is from bettertouchtool. A similar thing can be done in keyboard maestro - finding a button on screen in an app or web page and clicking.
This seems like the ultimate bridge for all automation, as it allows anyone to build custom workflows and create keyboard shortcuts for things that aren't natively supported.

Doh! That's excellent, you've thought of everything

Skone reacted to vitor in Please revise TickTick Workflow
That looks like it could be done entirely in Alfred, yes, but we can’t really do much from a screenshot. You haven’t shared the Shortcut itself or how you’d expect the Workflow to work and the screenshot is in Japanese. The more details you give, the more likely someone is to provide assistance. Help us help you.

@c0desurfer Call /usr/bin/python3 directly or use the language dropdown. To include a package with the workflow, use the --target option and set PYTHONPATH. StackOverflow has other options.

Just type your query after the 'ai' keyword and the result will be pasted into your active application.
Go to https://beta.openai.com/account/api-keys to get your OpenAI API key and configure the workflow first.
Get the workflow at https://github.com/c0desurfer/alfred-openai-chatgpt.

Skone reacted to Vero in All files not showing up in searches after switching to m1 MacBook Air
@Sam Tang Welcome to the forum. What @deanishe is saying in his very succinct response is that this has been answered many times in recent months and that the best first step when looking for answers is to use the search feature.
Having said that, we've now created a step-by-step guide to troubleshooting this issue, which seems to be caused by a bug in the macOS Monterey Migration Assistant, resulting in files not being found when they should be.
Please take a look at this guide and follow the instructions carefully:
https://www.alfredapp.com/help/troubleshooting/indexing/monterey/
I'm confident this will solve your issue, but if for any reason, you still have indexing issues, please follow up in the relevant thread linked below. I'll now lock this thread to avoid splitting up the discussion of the same topic any further.
Cheers,
Vero

There are no linked libraries and it uses the system Ruby.
Try this version. If you still get an error, post it and try this one.

Skone reacted to Vero in File filter workflow not filtering correctly
@Skone It looks like you've got a few things using the same "b" keyword (e.g. your bookmarks seem to be set to "b" as keyword too) so you'll be getting more results than you anticipate.
You have a few options here:
- Try setting your keyword to "bp" for Brand Pack to be a little more specific
- Press return on your file filter's result before typing the rest (the result with the description "Brand pack search") to tell Alfred that you specifically want to enter that workflow's results
- Add a hotkey to your workflow to trigger your File Filter

Skone reacted to vitor in Workflow trigger on app launch
By design, Alfred Workflows have to be called explicitly. Though you can set up your mac to react to certain events and make those reactions be invoking a Workflow.
Simpler solution: instead of reacting to an app launch, make a Workflow which launches the app and does whatever else you need. You’ll keep the option to do either as needed.

Skone got a reaction from strajk in [Alfred 3] Google Inline Search (open URL + copy to clipboard)
I miss the inline google search workflow! It was probably my most used workflow, I'm surprised there aren't more people wanting this. Has anyone made one for any other search engine since the google API changes?

Skone reacted to Vero in Possible to list and trigger macOS Shortcuts from Alfred
@pontus Shortcuts integration is definitely on Alfred's roadmap More to come in the near future!

What about these kind of services: https://scaleserp.com/pricing / https://geekflare.com/serp-api/
They do the hard work and you have a free tier you can use.

Skone reacted to Vero in Search Apple/iCloud Notes
They released Evernote 10, and as of current enquiries with some of their staff, doesn't support AppleScript. They've said they're still considering it, but at this point, the workflow requires Evernote 7 (which is still available in the legacy section of their site)
The more people make noise about wanting support, the more likely they'll add it. However, the workflow may need to evolve to use their API instead, if they choose not to add AppleScript support.
-
Skone reacted to Acidham in Search Apple/iCloud Notes
@Vero I left Evernote behind because of missing Markdown support. At that time they considered adding MD support for over 6 years. I assume similar will happen with AS support
I really don't know why EN is so screwed 😕

Skone reacted to vitor in Link thumbnail preview in clipboard history
No, but I also like the idea. Optionally, I’d say it could (perhaps as an extra setting) always auto-download page thumbnails when a URL is copied (save it to a cache, so be purged if needed). That way cycling through those URLs would be blazing fast, instead of having to do a web request and wait for each one.

Skone got a reaction from vitor in Link thumbnail preview in clipboard history
Potential feature suggestion: Ability to toggle on/off background download of link thumbnails for any links saved to clipboard: so that when you go through the clipboard manager, they show up on the image preview.
This would be useful if you have lots of youtube links in your clipboard, for example, and want to make sure you're pasting the correct one.
Example attached

Skone got a reaction from JJJJ in [Alfred 3] Google Inline Search (open URL + copy to clipboard)
Thanks Deanishe, makes sense.
I wonder if there's an alternative search engine that's more stable to build an in-line search workflow from. I'm honestly surprised this isn't at the top of everyone's lists, it seems like one of the most obvious and effective uses of alfred!

I am still so gutted about this - anyone found any alternatives? As a non developer, what would be the learning curve like if I was to take this on myself and try to fix the HTML parsers?
