Are you using the open (aka "space") command along with the content you wanna search?

I have the same problem. 

I had my desktop files synced with the iCloud, thus all the desktop files are stored in the ~/Library/CloudStorage/iCloud Drive/desktop

After I add the desktop folder to the Search Scope I still couldn't find any result in it, but the SPOTLIGHT does find results.

So will it be fixed after rebuild metadata?
