  1. @christoph282 I didn't do any specific testing, but so far haven't noticed that something is missing, have been able to find what I am looking for every time
  2. Thought I'll post an update here. Almost a year later, the File Provider API version (https://support.google.com/drive/answer/12178485?hl=en) rolled out to my machine. And I can confirm that standard Spotlight (and thus Alfred) search works again. I believe Vitor's plugin is still a viable and more feature-packed alternative, but now a built-in alternative exists. At least for those who got the update from Google.
  3. @christianmagill judging from the docs we'll have to wait until a pop-up comes (so it is still rolling out). But also looking at the bottom list, it seems that things are changing for worse. Up until now there was hope that they'll just fix what they had (and it was an easy fix btw, someone on stack overflow troubleshooted spotlight issues and pinpointed the problem). Now, we are loosing the ability to search the whole drive. And I am not even sure that @vitor's plugin will help. Not familiar with FileProvider API, but the text reads as if metadata will not be available for all cloud files and it is managed by MacOS...
  4. Does G Drive creates symlinks within its cache? DIdn't know that... You are right of course. But I am not hopeful when it comes to Google support. Didn't even bother trying to ask them how to fix that and why did it happen. Haven't noticed any problems besides alfred so far...
  5. Hey @vitor thanks again for the awesome work. I have a weird situation. At some point G Drive probably had issues mounting the volume at /Volumes/Google\ Drive path and now it mounts them at random path like this: I did have an orphan /Volumes/Google\ Drive folder, which I force deleted but after Google Drive restart it would still mount to that weird location. At I have a hunch the id in that string is actually changing form time to time 🤦 Now, when I point the workflow (using the variable) to the symlink at ~/Google\ Drive it would report that it works but in reality it skips the whole thing cause you have symlinks skipped here: Any chance this may become a workflow option or is there a reason I am missing for symlinks to be skipped all the time?
  6. What did you execute exactly when it started downloading files? I can confirm that since running mdutil -i on /path/to/googledrive, Spotlight indexed the folder and search works for offline and streamed files (see screenshot below). And so far it has survived more than 24 hours, although it is clear that any Google Drive restart (or mac restart for that matter) will break it again. I think using @vitor is a great temporary workaround, but as I've said, I am assuming Google will fix this soon too.
  7. @vitor I think this https://apple.stackexchange.com/a/424445/399192 explains what is happening. Based on the investigation there is a good chance that Google can fix it that on their end (enable the fixed SMB port). I can at least confirm that manually enabling the spotlight index works (although it's been 30 minutes and it hasn't built the full index for me yet). I understand that it won't last, but at least I am hopeful it is not one of those things that google takes eternity to fix
  8. Hi, I would vote for an update as well. Here is a use case for me: I want to have an nfc tag that would put all of my devices to Do Not disturb mode at once. I think it is something many of us need, I.e. focus time. so I can have an iOS shortcut triggered by nfc tag. I’ve already created a dnd workflow on my Mac which I can trigger from Alfred remote. However, without More feature packed x callback or direct integration with iOS shortcuts I can’t connect the two. I can’t trigger remote dnd workflow from iOS shortcut that will enable dnd on iOS itself
