I gave up on this workflow [because I was too lazy to figure out what was up] a while back when I got this error:
Ultimately, I migrated to Rdio for a while. I'm back to Spotify though.
Launching the workflow, I got the error above. I replaced it with the latest version, and I'm still getting the same error. I tried 'Kill update library' and 'Reset Settings for Spotify Mini Player.' What is my next best bet? I would love to get this up and running.
Hi, can you please follow steps here http://alfred-spotif...ticles/support/
Once I receive the TGZ file I will be able to help you more !
Cheers

Not sure if this workflow is being maintained anymore, but it was working great for me until I started using Word 2015 on the Mac. Since then it has stopped working. Any ideas on how to modify either script file to get it working again? Thanks!
Microsoft broke AppleScript with their update starting from 14.4.7 and did not fix it yet.
I don't have Word 2015 and I don't plan to purchase it, so I can't help..
But the source code is on Github, so anyone can fork and fix it for Word 2015

I am not currently an Alfred user but I am needing a way to control Spotify remotely. I was wondering if someone could indicate whether or not the Spotify Mini Player fulfils my requirements.
- Spotify is running on a OSX computer in our office.
- We normally listen to the "Rock" radio in the Spotify app
- We do also like to queue up tracks but after they play it reverts back to the Rock radio.
Is Alfred Remote (on iPhone/iPad) with the Spotify Mini Player workflow going to allow me to queue up tracks on top of the Radio station? I know it can do lots of awesome things but this is the critical feature I am after.
Thanks heaps
Hi,
No I'm afraid that won't be possible...Spotify AppleScript does not allow currently to add tracks to Play Queue, it only allows to play tracks..If in the future, Spotify adds this possibility (this might be added in the WEB API https://github.com/spotify/web-api/issues/15),I'll add it to the workflow, for sure. This is how Play Queue is currently working : http://alfred-spotify-mini-player.com/articles/play-queue/In your case, if this is a Radio playing, and you start a song (from Spotify app), then the Play Queue (in Spotify app) will contains only the song you played, all the tracks from the radio are erased. So I'm not sure how it works right now in your case anyway. -
Loving this workflow! I thought it was broken but realized artists aren't fuzzy. Maybe it's scope creep, but it would be cool if it could ignore the "the" on stuff.
Thanks!
Can you give an example because it seems to be ok:
Example if I type "cure" instead of "the cure", I get "The Cure" artist as expected.

thanks so much for making this, this will help keep more more on track with my running.
I'm having an issue viewing anything other than the "home" library. If I try to look at anything else other than the first menu, it quits running the workflow and my default search suggestions pop up. I just want to switch to miles instead of km. Anything I should be doing? Thanks
Can you open an issue here https://github.com/vdesabou/alfred-nike-plus/issues I will try to help from there.
Also can you share the output of Alfred Debug window when you navigate into menus:

no it's default number (50), never changed. also tried to rebuild library but it's the same
Ok so please follow steps, I need your TGZ file t investigate

I can see only the last five added albums in "My music". Is it possibile to set a different number (higher)?
That should not be the case, are you sure Max Results is not set to 5 ?
If not, open a ticket as explained here: http://alfred-spotify-mini-player.com/articles/support/
I will investigate why..

Hi and thanks for sharing this great workflow!
Is it possible to change sorting order of album in your music > album?
in spotify I've always set My Music to "recent" to see last added albums. would be great to have that order in the workflow
I've released version 6.2.1, see http://alfred-spotify-mini-player.com/blog/Version-6.2.1/

That's a good idea! I've opened this issue to track progress: https://github.com/vdesabou/alfred-spotify-mini-player/issues/77

Just want to say thank you so much for this!
This workflow is what made me purchase an Alfred Powerpack license. Been using Alfred for ages but never really looked at workflows.
I was looking for a way to run a mini type Spotify app, from the taskbar, as I find the actual spotify app to get in the way and disruptive to my work.
Anyhow, my trek through the internets I discovered this and mopidy, voila !
Again, cheers matey!
Thanks a lot, I really appreciate to have some good feedback like this !
I'm glad Mopidy support is appreciated as well
Don't hesitate if you have enhancement ideas, I'm always open to improve the workflow !

Thanks a lot for the quick fix!
A related question:
I have Quick Mode enabled, but when I browse my playlists, I have to select the playlist and the select Launch Playlist, it doesn't start playing on the first selection - feature or bug?
Feature: Quick-Mode is only active in Main menu (see http://alfred-spotify-mini-player.com/articles/quick-mode/)
If you browse to sub-menus, Quick-Mode is not active. I thought it made more sense like that, when you want to quickly launch something, you type directly the name in main search and launch it. When you browse by genre (playlists, artists, etc) you don't know exactly what you want to listen, so normal behavior..

Issue 2 fixed itself after I rebooted.
I have opened a Github issue #72 for the playlist issue.
Thanks
Thanks! I've spotted the bug and provided a Beta release https://github.com/vdesabou/alfred-spotify-mini-player/issues/72
This will be included in version 6.2.1

Thanks so much for Mopidy support, it works great - and no more Spotify.app!
I have two questions:
1. When I select "Playlist (browse by playlist)", the list is empty until I type 3 search characters.
I would like it to display all my Spotify playlists without having to type a search query, how do I do that?
2. Now playing notifications aren't working when changing tracks? I have them enabled in the Settings and I can see them enabled in my Notifications preference pane (OS X 10.10.2).
Thanks again,
Can't help if you don't provide needed information

That should not be the case. All your playlists shall be displayed normally..

Thanks again,
Do you have Now Playing notifications enabled in your Settings ?
Can you open a bug for the two questions as explained here http://alfred-spotify-mini-player.com/articles/support/ , I'll have a look once I get the issue opened and TGZ file.
Cheers !

I'm stoked that you put in support for Mopidy. I hate the Spotfy app, and Mopidy + this workflow is a much better way to make it all work.
Yeah I was not convinced at first but it's true that it is very cool to get rid of the Spotify app especially with the last update 1.0.x which is a total mess !!
Hope this is working well with your setup

Note: with 6.1.2, you'll need to re-create your library. But the first time you'll use the workflow, you'll get an exception and the option to re-create the library. All local files will be handled properly instead of being ignored before. (was a bug with Spotify WEB api)

Does this fix compatibility issues or does it just tell us which version of Spotify we have?
No it just tell AppleScript is broken, which is the case with last version of spotify. The problem is absolutely not with my workflow, it is spotify releasing a version of their software completely broken..all 3rdparty apps using applescrip are not working..and yes, this is absolutely unacceptable and you can complain to Spotify!
