  1. I would like the option (e.g. general setting in Alfred) so Web Searches open in a new browser window instead of just finding a browser window and opening a tab there. I know you can change the default behaviour of your browser to always open new windows, but that's not what I'm looking for here. The way I work is usually with my browser windows aligned with a theme where the tabs within the browser window are related to this. So regarding web search I would might do a simple search on "Bumble bees" (and expand from there in tabs). The web search "Bumble bees" I would like to open a new window and not find e.g. my window with all my YouTube or travel planning and open a tab there (sometimes these windows are even minimised, but get "forced" open by this action).
  2. Any update on this? I'm specifically also looking to be able to search within files e.g. .md files. From what I could read file filter does not do this and as @mlevison wrote you can't narrow the search when using the "in" term.
  3. Goal: I want to pass an url in and get only the domain out. E.g. by selecting https://www.alfredapp.com/help/workflows/utilities/replace/ and running the workflow I would expect to get https://www.alfredforum.com as the result (which I then intend to do a search with). However, it's the same thing coming out. Right now I'm just trying to get the first part to work - the regex part. However, if you know how I can make use of this "Use Domain from URL..." within a workflow then of course that would be easier.
  4. Hi, I'm trying to make simple workflow that will use universal actions on an URL to do a "site:URL" search in a search engine. I saw there already is an universal action "Use Domain from URL...", but don't know how to invoke that when making the workflow so Instead I'm looking at Replace action using a regex expression (/^(?:https?:\/\/)?(?:[^@\n]+@)?(?:www\.)?([^:\/\n?]+)/img). Problem is it's not doing anything on the query even though I tested it. If I input "https://www.alfredapp.com/help/workflows/utilities/replace/" I get the same out. See screenshot.
  5. Hi, As topic says, Web Search is a bit inconsistent about what browser window it picks. Sometimes it will not pick the one in the foreground (that I've just used), but instead use one of my minimised ones, which is a bit annoying, since I often use Web Search while in the browser instead of typing in url-field. Like when I e.g. click links they normally pick the browser window I'm currently using to open in, so I'm a bit puzzled about this behaviour. If this is not possible to address it would be great if it was possible to force Web Search to open a new browser window.
  6. I'm looking forward to using this in my workflow, but running into a problem. After a timer has successfully ended the notification kept repeating. After clicking on "quit" it still persist in Notification Center and I can't close it even if I click on the (X) or "quit". Quit actually starts a timer on 25 minutes. I've tried the ⌥ to quit timers + pomodoros without success (the timer disappears from status bar, but the notification still lingers in Notification Center). Sorry no mouse showing, but you can see the (x) and "Quit" being clicked repeatably. Keep up the amazing workflows! Very much appreciated 🙌
  7. Ah, got it now. Don't have all the Alfred terminology down, so I was looking at the workflow and got confused with the unticked "Files" option. Got it going now. Thanks.
  8. Thanks for explaining it in more detail @deanishe. I don't know much about how Spotlight works behind the scene. A shame it has to be so complicated. Remember I used Everything back in the days on Windows, indexed whole system as far as I know. I've now installed, setup, and run @vitor's Google Drive workflow and can confirm that it works out of the box for WD My Cloud Home.
  9. @vitor I found your Shortcuts workflow. With the argument option will I be able to pass a selected file in Finder? As to call it with the "Make pdf" Shortcut and have it receive whatever file (or files if possible) I have selected in Finder. Not sure if it's just a matter of ticking this box in your workflow? But have I feeling that would be too easy.
  10. @vitor and @deanishe Thanks for the input. I'll look at Shortcuts / automator and see what I can come up with. Seem to remember there being some "to pdf" in Shortcuts when I was using it on iPhone. Might just have tunnelen visioned a bit late as I'm discovery Alfred being new to it and all that my first thought now is to do everything using Alfred 😄
  11. Thanks for the breakdown. So, I went through the items.. So far it's been having the same path after each reboot. I've had the path added to Alfred for a while now, but Alfred is not showing any results. Thought the reason why it didn't show up in Spotlight was because Spotlight didn't look in ~/Library/* but that Alfred would if told to. This works!
  12. Is having word a precursor for using the workflow? Just looking to be able to right click in finder and convert to pdf.
  13. This is a great package! Been using youtube-dl so far through Automator, but this takes it up several notches. Question: For audio I've decided to go with .m4a. In case this can't be had in original form, will the workflow pick the best available audio then or convert what it downloads to .m4a?
  14. It just tried pulling it down, though there seems to be some checks set up to be looking for Google Drive services and such. I'm still new to Workflows, so haven't gotten the reverse engineering of them down 100% yet. However, the path to my WD MyCloud Home on my machine is /Users/user/Library/Containers/com.wdc.WDDesktop.WDDesktopFinderSync/Data/volumes/3456789/User's My Cloud Home ..I don't know if the number changes each time is mounted. I tried adding this path to Alfred's search scope, but so far I'm not hitting anything. Anyway of knowing if Alfred is able to search this? Whereas the Google drive workflow initially just points to, /Volumes/GoogleDrive/My Drive I can obviously try and change the path and see if it can gather something, but that still leaves me a bit at loss with all the other things going on in the workflow. Is there a simple boiled down test I could do perchance?
  15. @Vero, this looks really interesting. Thanks for pointing it out. Had been looking at other, but hadn't come across this one. Will take a closer look at it!
