avk_tp got a reaction from arsenty in WordReference - A multilingual translation dictionary
Update: WordReference is no longer accepting new registrations for API keys, but those who have already registered can continue to use them. As such, new users won't be able to set this up.

    ---

For the language learners among us, here's a workflow that returns results from http://wordreference.com into Alfred.

As you can see from the screenshot, you'll get various definitions in the original language (designated using the relevant flag), with each definition proceeded by translations in the target language (parts of speech and the gender of nouns (where applicable) are also included). Pressing enter will take you to the entry page on wordreference.com.

Numerous dictionaries are included (I can add additional ones carried by the WordReference website if there are any requests), with the specific dictionary called up using the first two letters of the original language followed by the first two letters of the target language. That means:

    enfr: English to French
    fren: French to English
    enit: English to Italian
    iten: Italian to English
    enes: English to Spanish
    esen: Spanish to English

    pten: Portuguese to English
    enpt: English to Portuguese
In addition, typing frc, itc or esc, followed by a verb (in French, Italian or Spanish respectively) and then pressing enter will call up (in your browser) the conjugation table for the verb. For example:

Lastly, note that in order to use the workflow you must first register for an API with wordreference.com (this is necessary to prevent excessive calls from any given API). That can be done by using the 'getapi' keyword in Alfred, or using this link: http://www.wordreference.com/docs/APIregistration.aspx. You then set the API by using the 'setapi' keyword.

And just in case you "tl:dr" that:

    DOWNLOAD (Version 0.6 - 07/05/13)

Updates will be released via Alleyoop 2 and posted here. Let me know if you've got any feedback. Also, thanks to everyone in the help forums who helped me overcome my near total inability to code.

There's 3 different Library folders in Mac OS X - with this workflow it's easier than ever to open them individually!

The Library Folder in your user folder:

Use the following keywords to open the library folder in your user folder: library user

The Library Folder in the System folder:

Use the following keywords to open the library folder in your System folder: library system

The Library folder in the root folder of your system drive:

Use the following keywords to open the library folder in the root folder of your system drive: library hd

Keyboard shortcuts? If you want to use them instead of the keyword - it's very easy to setup!

In the Alfred Preferences you choose this workflow, and setup a shortcut for each of the three Library folders (hd, system and user).

    Download Open Library Folders 1.0

    Download Open LIbrary Folders 1.01

    Download Open LIbrary Folders 1.02

New functionality in version 1.01:  Plist Search

Use the keyword 'plist' and start searching for plist-files from the Library folders.

New functionality in version 1.02:  Make Library folder (~/Library/) visible in Finder (and hidden again of course).

To make the Library folder visible or hidden, use the following commands in Alfred:

    Visible: library visible
    Hidden: library hidden

avk_tp reacted to AlfredFreak in Gmail in Chrome Workflow
Hi, I made this for myself and thought I'd share.
I'm a heavy Gmail user, and I think Gmail works best in Chrome. I wanted to always have a Gmail tab open, and to *not* open multiple Gmail tabs when I use the workflow from other applications.   I also wanted the Gmail tab to always be pinned to the left. It can't be done via AppleScript, so I'm using a Chrome Extension called Auto Pin URL. Get it if you want the Gmail tab pinned left (it's not required for the workflow to function. Without it, your Gmail tab will be *wherever* in Chrome):
    https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/auto-pin-url/heodenddhgffdcadgghkghlcjjikaahf
Here is the URL you will need to add to Auto Pin URL: https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/
Here's the features of the workflow (keyword / explanation):
gm - GMail. Whatever you're doing, this brings Chrome to the front and activates the Gmail tab. If there's no Gmail tab, it will create one (and Auto Pin URL will move it to the far left). I have assigned it Shift-Control-z
gmn - GMail New. Open a new compose window. (This is the lone exception in that it opens a new tab. I don't like the new compose window you get by typing c in gmail.) I have assigned Shift-Control-x. This tab auto closes once you send the mail.
    gms - GMail Search
gmf - GMail From. Search for sender
gmt - Gmail To. Search for recipient
gmc - GMail Contacts. Search Gmail contacts
gmgi - GMail Inbox ("gi" is Gmail's default Inbox shortcut)
gmgt - GMail Sent. Sent items. ("gt" is Gmail's default Sent Mail shortcut)
gmga - GMail All Mail. All mail. ("ga" is Gmail's default All Mail shortcut)
NOTE: I made this for my Google Apps account. Haven't tested it on a regular gmail account, but I bet it works fine. I'm no AppleScript expert, so my code may be crappy. Buy hey, this workflow works great for me.

Check my blog/github. It should be resolved now. uid can be left blank to let alfred generate it. blank autocomplete values aren't added into the xml.

avk_tp got a reaction from mrwayne in Open current Safari tab in Chrome - Improved
    Hey hey,

I was having the same issue. I got around it by having the openinchrome workflow also open up chrome when I go to use it (see below). With this method, if chrome is already open it just adds an extra tab, whereas if it's not it opens up a new window. The only slight glitch is that in the latter case it opens up an extra tab as well, but it's not a real problem unless you're a perfectionist.
