Weaselboy reacted to Klaus in List and/or delete local time machine backups
List and / or delete local time machine snapshots
Previous Apple operating systems had the possibility to disable local time machine backups with "tmutil disablelocal" within Terminal. Unfortunately this does not work anymore in High Sierra and above. Apple changed this behaviour with the release of High Sierra.
And unfortunately I do not like this behaviour as I have always three external TM HDDs attached.
So after searching a little bit, I found a reddit.com posting with proper terminal commands for listing and deleting local TM backups when you have High Sierra and above. Thanks for posting!
++++ How to use this workflow ++++
Just type "ltm" and then "list" to open terminal and to see how many local TM snapshots are on your local disk.
Type "ltm" and then "del" to delete your local TM snapshots. Terminal opens and deletes the backups.
++++ USE AT YOUR OWN RISK! ++++
++++ It's a simple workflow and my first one ... please feel free to optimize and enhance it ++++

Weaselboy reacted to deanishe in [PYTHON FIX] How to fix Python workflows hanging Alfred on Sierra
There is a bug in my (unofficial) Alfred-Workflow library that causes very many workflows using it to hang quite dramatically on Sierra.
If you are affected (i.e. you see Alfred's CPU usage spike to 100%), Activity Monitor will show two Python processes like this (choose View > All Processes, Hierarchically), with the bottom one at ~99% CPU (this screenshot is actually of a non-misbehaving workflow):
Download and run this workflow, which will update any old versions of Alfred-Workflow in your installed workflows.
That should get your workflows working again until the workflow developers can push official fixes.

Weaselboy reacted to deanishe in Workflow Library for Python
TEMPORARY FIX
Grab this workflow and follow the instructions on how to use it.
It will replace buggy versions of Alfred-Workflow with a working one in any workflows you have installed.
Vítor posted a handy script that can fix all your workflows at once.
If you're not a big shell user, here's another way:
Download the latest release of Alfred-Workflow Extract the zip file In Alfred Preferences, right-click on the broken workflow and choose Open in Finder Replace the workflow directory in the broken workflow with the one from the Alfred-Workflow release you downloaded Repeat for any other workflows causing the same issue This will make the workflow fully-functional again.

Weaselboy reacted to deanishe in Pocket for Alfred
It's a known issue with the underlying Alfred-Workflow library the workflow uses. It doesn't get along with Sierra.

Weaselboy reacted to deanishe in Packal Updater
I don't think the Packal updater works at the moment. Not sure if it doesn't get along with El Cap/Sierra or Alfred 3.
You could try my Packal workflow search workflow, which is, frankly, too dumb to break…
It can't update your workflows for you, but packal status will show you which of your workflows are out of date, and actioning a result will take you to that workflow's page from whence you can grab the newer version.
Nowhere near as nice as the official Packal updater, but better than checking everything by hand…

Weaselboy reacted to Andrew in How did Alfred 3 get smaller than Alfred 2 ?
There are a number of ways Alfred's distributable has become smaller (2.9MB zipped download at the point of 3.0 release).
- Tidying and consolidating framework code, removing defunct code and resources
- Replacing many png resources with SVG or PaintCode resources
- Switching from using some frameworks to Apple internal frameworks (e.g. OpenSSL / Growl), aided by the switch to OS X 10.9+
My general ethos when it comes to developing Alfred is making sure that Alfred carries no defunct or legacy code, and that all code is written by me and internally. Without reliance on 3rd party code, it makes it much easier to tune Alfred and make him bug / crash free. This is particularly important for an app that runs the entire time your Mac is running - i.e. if a normal app crashes, you don't think too much about it. If Alfred suddenly doesn't appear when you use one of your hotkeys, it's extremely obvious.
And yes, Alfred is developed with Xcode 7.
Cheers,
Andrew

Alfred 2 will continue to get maintenance releases if necessary, but won't get any new features like Alfred 3 will be getting

Hey Weaselboy,
I've added a copy-to-clipboard action to the workflow, simply use the 'fn' action modifier!
And thanks for the offer, but I currently don't take any donations
I'm glad you like this workflow, feel free to spread the word and share it with your friends!

Fabio-- I'm getting this error after installing your workflow and the first attempt at running. The debug info from Alfred is below. I just edited out my username. I have a valid Pocket account and can login to it with no problem in Safari. Any suggestions?
Thanks
