  1. The workflow still works in Alfred 5 for me. Sometimes, however, it takes a while until "Generating Citation" disappears even after I've copied an entry.
  2. I am not absolutely certain, to be honest. If I remember correctly, it worked that way. Maybe @deanishe or others can briefly chime in and confirm this. The original description on GitHub lists this under "Features": "Citations are copied in multiple formats, so the right data are automatically pasted into the application you're using"
  3. Thanks, @giovanni but the automatic pasting doesn't work with the latest version. It's no big deal, I just had in mind that this was how it worked in one of the previous versions before the Python update broke the workflow. @pseudometa has a paste command in his "Supercharged Citation Picker" where pasting is an option that comes up after having pressed ⌘⌥ (unfortunately, it's made for Markdown only and I'm frequently in need of italicised elements in a bibliographical entry). So from my novice knowledge, I think one would have to implement some kind of 'paste the content of the last clipboard text to front app' option at the end of the workflow. But since I'm fine with just pressing cmd v one more time and everything works, I don't want to take any more of your time! ☺️
  4. @giovanniI cannot believe this, the basic functionality works on M1 12.4 -- thank you so much!!! The only thing that still doesn't work is the automatic pasting of the text and it stills shows "Generating Citation" for a while if I bring up Alfred again.
  5. It was working at one point, then it stopped pasting to clipboard (I could still browse everything, see my earlier post). Seeing that you took matters in your own hands, I tried the latest version you updated, which gives me the above error.
  6. @giovanni, thank you for putting your time into this 👍. I do not have any knowledge of programming, but if it helps, here is what your latest updated workflow (1.99.3) on M1, 12.4 tells me (I can no longer search the database): From the debugging console (just from where the error occurs -- I don't know if this is of any help):
  7. The workflow was working in Monterey on M1 (and I'm sure I installed Python via that terminal command), but 12.3.1 broke it for me, unfortunately. If the code "is short", maybe someone with the knowledge of these things will find a solution. Here's to hoping! ☺️
  8. Thank you for the fix! It's now possible to download the CSL styles. What I don't understand is why they're dropped in the .pandoc/CSL folder although the default (APA CSL) citation style is located in the workflow directory. Maybe it's intended that way and you're supposed to manually copy them and then adjust scripts/generate_temporary_bib.sh? Is there a way to quickly switch between styles with this workflow (I found no ‘set citation style’ menu like in the former pconf ‘search and set citation style’)? Unfortunately, neither write=md nor write=html work so I’ll stick with write=plain. It’s not a big deal manually italicising the necessary parts of an entry. But out of curiosity and since APA also requires italics, I suppose you’re also manually italicising the necessary parts instead of drag/dropping an entry from Zotero?
  9. Hi Chris, thank you for the great workflow, it’s quite useful for fellow academics (or anybody else who has to cite frequently). I encountered a few problems that probably have to do with the person sitting in front of the screen than with the workflow: 1. I was unable to run the SCP / Search & Download Citation Styles menu. For some reason, nothing appears there (in contrast to the former pandoc suite). I therefore opened the workflow directory and pasted a CSL citation style I use there. I had set up the .pandoc/CSL folder before and pointed the workflow to that directory in settings (it didn’t exist so I had to create it) but it still seems I need to add citation styles manually and then point scripts/generate_temporary_bib.sh to the file path of the new csl. 2. I frequently need to paste bibliographical entries including italics (e.g., monographs, journal names). Currently, italics are not pasted --- probably because this workflow is used in markdown editors (I’m also using it in Obsidian). Still, would it be possible to change that somewhere only for the bibliography export? I tried changing --write=plain in scripts/generate_temporary_bib.sh to --write=rtf but that doesn’t seem to work. Any help is appreciated!☺️
  10. Like @damagekko I also signed up because this workflow is vital to my academic work. I get the very same error about 'pasteboard'. While it was working before with the updated version, in 12.3.1. the workflow does not seem to paste the results to the clipboard (loading data, browsing all literature works, however). Is it likely that this is something that could be fixed?
