  1. I thought this only happened when Alfred was running, but now that I test it again I realize I was wrong! It seems Alfred isn't the culprit β€” it's being done by a Typinator "Double Caps" regular expression. Disabling that solved the issue. My apologies... πŸ€ͺ
  2. Why is Alfred autocorrecting "Windows PCs" to "Windows Pcs", and how do I stop it? I've looked in Alfred's preferences, but can't seem to find where this option is enabled or disabled, nor how to change specific corrections. I've had similar issues with other phrases and words. Can someone point me in the right direction, please? It's extremely annoying when this happens repeatedly.
  3. That is helpful. Thanks. I'm still hopeful the Alfred team will consider adding built-in support for this and implementing it in the much more user-friendly way LaunchBar does it! πŸ€žπŸΌπŸ™‚
  4. This is a two-part feature request based on my experience with LaunchBar and Alfred: 1. Make mounted volumes easier to navigate to by including volumes in the default search scope. This is something that the competing LaunchBar utility does a much better job with. With LaunchBar, the names of each mounted volume are included in the default search results, so that you can just type part of the name of any mounted volume and immediately hit Return to open it in a Finder window or use the arrow keys to start navigating its contents. In contrast, with Alfred it's much more tedious to type "/vol", then a right-arrow, then hit Return to browse (which is often followed by a delay while the list of volumes is created for some reason), then type Control-Return to open it. Another difference is that the /Volumes directory often has things in it you don't normally want to interact with including local Time Machine backups and macOS Recovery partitions. 2. Automatic navigation to mounted / opened disk images. When you open a disk image file with LaunchBar, the LaunchBar prompt stays on-screen until the disk image volume is mounted, and you can immediately use the arrow keys to navigate inside of the mounted volume and open items inside of it. This is extremely handy since it lets you open a disk image, navigate into it, and open items inside of it without ever leaving the LaunchBar prompt. I do this exact procedure often enough that I really, really miss it with Alfred! I've only recently purchased and started using Alfred, and these are both pain points I've noted so far. I'd love to see them addressed in a future release! πŸ™‚πŸ™πŸ»
  5. I see why now. I had those options enabled in File Search preferences. Duh... πŸ€ͺ
  6. Just in case anyone else needs it, this setting has moved in later versions of Alfred. You can set Alfred Preferences > Features > Universal Actions > Selection Hotkey to take action on the current Finder selection in Alfred 5.0.6.
  7. Hi Vero, Thanks! Bear with me... I'm moving over to Alfred from LaunchBar, so I'm not as familiar with Alfred as I would like. I wasn't aware I needed to prefix "open" to work with documents, as that's not the case with LaunchBar. Looks like I'll have to get myself in the habit of typing "open" to work with documents. I'm still a little confused about this though, because when I just type "reg" (without the "open" prefix), I do see other documents that match "reg" in the list (including RTF, archives, and scripts) as well as some matching applications and browser bookmarks. And even more confusing, when I just tried typing "open reg" and "open registration" I still didn't see the disk image alias in the list. Hmmm... Edit: I just tried raising the Preferences > Features > File Search > Result Limit up to 40, and while I still don't see it in the list when I type "open reg", I do now see it in the list when I type "open registration". So apparently it was too low in the list without me typing more of the name! I think it would probably be helpful to be able to see more than 40 matches in some cases, especially starting with a new install where there may be many unprioritized matches to sort through to find what you're looking for! There's no way to do that, is there? On a related note, LaunchBar has an Index window where you can view and search its index to see what it contains and what a search term matches. Is there a way to view Alfred's entire index?
  8. Hi Vero, This is what it says: But when I press the Alfred hotkey and type "reg", the file "Registration Codes.dmg" does not appear in the list.
  9. I have a couple aliases to disk images that reside on a mounted SMB shared volume in my ~/Documents folder, but when I type part of the name of the alias, it does not appear in the list Alfred displays. The volume is mounted, and I can open the disk images by double-clicking the aliases in the Finder. I tried going to Alfred Preferences > Default Results > Extras > Advanced and dragging one of the aliases to the list there, but still don't see them in the list Alfred displays. What do I need to do to make Alfred find these disk image aliases when I type their names?
