I also am a long-time LaunchBar user. In fact, I switched from Alfred to LaunchBar specifically because of LaunchBar's support for abbreviations. I just want to assign a 2-character abbreviation to an app or website and be able to type that without thinking more or looking at anything. In LaunchBar when I type the second character, I hold the key and the app launches or the URL is opened in Safari. The whole process is self-contained in LaunchBar, I don't have to or want to deal with Finder tags. I don't want to have to "train" anything. Can I do that in Alfred?
Also, if I do learn to live with the training part, is it possible that my abbreviation will suddenly match some other new item that appears in the Spotlight index? I expect my launcher to consistently do exactly what I tell it, every time, without any guessing.
Can I get Alfred to behave exactly as I want as I've described here?
