  1. Hi there.  Cannot seem to configure a custom web search for the website libbyapp.com that works.

    • For the pattern, here's the URL which results from when searching the site for "test search":

https://libbyapp.com/search/lcpl/search/scope-auto/query-test search/page-1    ("lcpl" = Loudoun County Public Library, my particular library)

    • And here's my nonfunctioning Alfred custom web search which opens the search page on the site w/o having performed a search:

              https://libbyapp.com/search/lcpl/search?q={query}

    Any ideas?  Many thanks!

Hi there.  Reposting, as the problem remains unsolved…

I am scratching my head over a simple workflow I made to open a Fluid-created app via either a hotkey or keyword.  My preference is to invoke the workflow via hotkey, as it is faster than typing a keyword.  However, the workflow oddly produces a different result depending on how it is invoked.  I should also add that the app in question (Gmail) is typically already open, so the workflow really functions as a quick way to make Gmail the active app.  Here's the funky behavior:

    -  Invoke via Keyword: works as expected, i.e., makes Gmail the active app

    -  Invoke via Hotkey: opens a duplicate version of the already-running Gmail app which is not logged into Gmail—obviously, this is of no use.

Lastly, I've attached a screenshot of the workflow.

    Any ideas?  Many thanks!

  3. Possible to associate more than one snippet with the same keyword?  This is possible in aText, and I find it very useful:

    • In aText all my email addresses are associated with the same keyword (;;em)
    • Then, when I type the keyword, I am presented with a menu/dialog with all the email addresses
    • Much easier than having to create/remember a unique keyword for each email address

I have not found a way to do the same in Alfred—or have I missed something?

    Many thanks!

  4. Hello Everyone,

I've been noticing some funky behavior in Alfred for a while (months):

    1. Cannot Invoke Alfred Via Hotkey.  Pressing the predefined hotkey won't bring up the Alfred window.  And activity Monitor tells me that Alfred is, in fact, running.  Searching for/selecting Alfred in Spotlight solves (temporarily) the issue.  This happens a couple/few times per day.
    2. File-Opening Workflow Doesn't Initially Work.  I've defined several workflows to open various folders via hotkey, e.g., pressing "DL" to open the Downloads folder.  Sometimes, I have to execute the workflow a second time to get the folder to open.  This is not tied to a specific file-opening workflow and happens several times/day.

    I'm running Alfred 4.0.2 & macOS 10.13.6.

    Any ideas?  Many thanks!

  5. Update: I appreciate the responses.  After reflection, however, I think I misstated my issue.  I'll restate it (hopefully more clearly—sorry for the confusion): Upon entering the first character of the keyword trigger for the expansion, I am presented with a list of the  available expansions in my Alfred window.  In the case of a couple of my expansions, I would prefer to have (some of) them not appear until the entire keyword has been entered.  Thanks again…

I've set up several text-expansion workflows, each triggered with a 4-character keyword.  My problem is that the workflow is activated (and the expansion completed) after only typing in 1 character of the 4-character keyword.  And I want Alfred to complete the expansion only after the full keyword had been entered.  Ideas?  Many thanks.

  6. I'm attempting to do something similar:

    -  Create a workflow to pass on OS X selection though to the Dictionary

    -  Then, if the full definition is desired, open the Dictionary with the OS X selection passed through

    What I've done:

    -  Created a workflow: Hotkey (Action: pass thru to workflow; Argument: selection in macOS) + Dictionary Filter

Problem: While this does indeed show the definition in the Alfred window, pressing return does nothing/nada/zilch

    Ideas?  Many thanks!

  7. Hi there.  Trying to make a Custom Web Search for mrqe.com.  Here's what I've done:

    • Did a test mrqe.com search for "Mission Impossible" which yields the following URL:

    http://www.mrqe.com/movie_reviews/mission-impossible-m100008102

    • Substituted {query} for "mission-impossible-m100008102:"

    http://www.mrqe.com/movie_reviews/{query}

Sadly, however, this search URL doesn't work.

    Does anyone have any ideas?

    Many thanks!

  8. Alfred runs really sluggish since I updated to Mavericks, examples:

    -  delay before Alfred window appears

    -  when typing in Alfred window, will type a portion of a word, then get spinning beachball

    -  delay before search results appear in Alfred window

Am running Alfred on a recent MBP (2.5 GHz, i5) with 8 GB ram.

    Ideas?

    Many thanks!
