  1. This workflow shows the contents of the downloads folder, sorted using file meta-data so that the sort is exactly the same as the "Date Added" sort on the Downloads folder (This sort is often the same as the last modified time, but is not always.) It provides a convent way to view the most recently downloaded files and you can scroll through them all or type part of the name of a file to find a specific one. Click here to download.
  2. This is a simple workflow that shows recent documents similar to the "Recent Items" menu option on the Apple menu. It is similar to Carlos' workflow here, except that this one just provides recent documents with the recentdocuments keyword. Click here to download.
  3. This workflow allows you to enter a new event via Alfred using Calendar's quick entry box syntax. Type whatever you would enter in the quick entry box in Calendar in Alfred after the newevent keyword and hit enter. The workflow will pass what you type to Calendar through the Quick entry box allowing Calendar to automatically create the event. Click here to download the workflow.
  4. Just in case I'm not the only one who kept typing "trash" to send a file to the trash rather than "delete" to access Alfred's built in command. This workflow copies one or multiple files to the trash and provides a notification when files go to trash. Click here to download.
  5. Workflow that allows you do "duplicate" a file like you can in Finder. It will handle one file or multiple files. Click here to download.
  6. It may seem like a silly question, but I was going to reuse Alfred's icons to make a workflow icon look more like it "fits" but I couldn't find Alfred's different icons used for file actions and other things. I peeked in the application bundle, but I only found the main application icon. Any idea where these resources are?
  7. Yes, I can copy and paste them just fine in Finder. I actually wrote a little Objective-C program that does what your script does to test the issue. It seemed that files in one of my Dropbox folders were showing up as zero-bytes when pasted, but would paste properly when copied to the ~/Downloads folder. Is this an issue with Apple sandboxing that's affecting your script and my program where it's prohibiting access to the contents of files in certain folders?
  8. Clinton, This works great on my computer except for Word docs created with Word 2011 (".docx" files) which, oddly enough, a copy and paste quite a bit. Any idea why it doesn't work for this file type? Other file types seem to work fine. Samuel
  9. Thanks, I created a simple recent documents workflow based on the one by Carlos. You simply use the keyword recentdocuments and it shows all documents recently loaded. Click here to download it.
  10. Yes, I do use a custom action to do this right now. It would just be nice and a little quicker for me to do Cmd+C rather than tab, type clipboard and then hit tab or enter again. This is one of those features I miss from Quicksilver and I believe Launchbar had it as well
  11. Is there a workflow to show recent documents the way you can access them from the Apple menu -> Recent Items? I see some references that Clinton created one for recent documents but I cannot find it anywhere.
  12. Right now if you do Cmd+C on a result in Alfred, it copies the file's path to the clipboard. This may be helpful for some users, but in my case I never need this but frequently need to copy an actual file to the clipboard. It would helpful to have a configuration option for users like me that causes a Cmd+C on a file to copy the actual file to the clipboard rather than the path.
  13. Thanks - I think I'll also add a feature request. This is pretty simple and would be nice to have.
  14. The title says it all. When I do Cmd+C on a file in Alfred I'd like to copy the actually file and not a path to the file. I frequently need to paste a file and I cannot find a way to do this.
  15. This workflow is a perfect example of what I'm trying to do - http://www.alfredforum.com/topic/2319-cyberduck-favorites-open-a-connection-with-cyberduck-favorites/ When you type "connect" you get all Cyberduck's bookmarks. If you keep typing, it filters the results down based on what you're typing. I feel like I'm missing something obvious, but I cannot find out how to add this dynamic feature of changing the results list as you type.
  16. Thanks, David. I looked at those samples but I don't think that's quite what I'm trying to achieve. I was hoping to avoid having to hit the enter key. Is there anyway for Aflred to re-fire the script as I type similar to the way that, for example, if I'm searching files it resets the results as I type?
  17. I have a workflow that loads all the items in a folder by feeding them back to Alfred via a Script Filter and everything works fine. Is there a way to set it so that if I type an argument after the results are loaded that Alfred shows only the results that match the argument I type? Basically the way most file searches begin filtering results if you continue typing more components of the file name.
  18. Quick questions just to understand what's possible between workflows and the buffer: 1. When executing a workflow is the buffer always automatically cleared if that option is set in preferences? 2. Is there a way to execute an action, but not clear the buffer or even set an action to ignore the buffer? 3. Is there any way to add or remove items to the buffer in a workflow? I know these are simple questions, I'm just trying to understand how it works.
  19. I'm just curious if there are any future changes to make file browsing and file actions in Alfred more flexible and feel more like it fits in on Alfred. For example, when you need to look through a folder or two to find a file having to go into a completely separate user interface has always looked out of place for me. I was also wondering if there is a plan to enhance actions. For example, the copy to and move to actions have been difficult for me ever since they were introduced. The fact that Alfred can only search for one folder and you cannot navigate to get the folder just correct has been very frustrating for me in some cases. The way other apps have solved this problem (Launchbar, QuickSilver, etc) would be a really helpful option on Alfred. Google's Quick Search Box, though it died quickly, actually seemed to have the most flexible solution where you could "stack" things together to perform a function. Don't mean to complain, but just curious if this will ever be enhanced or if Alfred will always work this way.
