How would you set that up with Alfred? That's the part I'm struggling with. From what I understand, x callback is commonly used for iOS → Mac.

I'm not entirely sure about Applescript as I can't find anything on it. The only thing I've seen talk about is x callback, Apparently, x callback allows you to append text, but I'm not sure how URL schemes work (nor if it can be used from/on mac).

Currently there are workflows that append text from Alfred to Evernote (using Applescript) AND from Alfred to plain text files (using Bash). I'm really interested in doing the same sort of thing with Ulysses III. I'd like to be able to type a string of text in Alfred, hit enter, and have that text append to a specific sheet within Ulysses. Any developers interested in taking this on? I'm certainly willing to pay for your time. I'm also looking for any thoughts on how I could attempt to accomplish this.

Sorry to revive a closed topic, but I'm currently experiencing something odd involving esc. I use KeyboardMaestro and like to assign esc to cmd+w. Although I add Alfred app to the exclusion list in KBM, Alfred windows still don't close like normal (i.e., with esc). Any ideas, Andrew?

Workflow currently: make selection in OS X → hit hotkey → Alfred window appears with selected text → hit enter → script is run (i.e., text is processed as designed). I'm looking to bypass the Alfred window and just go straight from hotkey (after selection) to script. Is there a way? That is, without having to first copy the text to clipboard? Or is there a way to automate the copying part? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I noticed that EggTimer initiates sticky notifications (upon timer completion) with Growl, but not Notification Center. I like the sticky notifications, but Growl is largely unsupported at this point. Any ideas on how I can get Notification Center to display similarly to Growl?

Since Evernote (EN) stores a copy of the file in its own database, I often just delete the file after I drag it into Evernote. I'm looking for a workflow that would allow me to 1) select a file (or multiple files) and have them sent to my EN inbox and 2) completely delete said file(s) afterward. Thank you for any help that you can offer.

I often google phrases in quote to figure out proper wording. I'd be nice to have a workflow that took selected text and automatically did the same. Any ideas?

Thanks for the reply. So, almost immediately after posting my question(s) to you, I started using the Toggl desktop client. I would have to agree with you. It's great. Still some solid workflow work though. Much appreciated.

@jason So, I think I've updated to the new version of your Toggl workflow. It now uses the 'tgl' keyword, right? It seems to me like your other version was better (i.e., easier to understand). Why the change? Also, what happened to the menubar notification component?

Is there a way to get the task to display in a notification upon entering? I suppose it's not as simple as adding {query} to the notification text box.

Maybe something that will clear history and website data? I can go through the Safari menu and/or preferences, but where's the fun in that? I appreciate any help.

I'm looking for a workflow that adds contacts to Contacts. Anyone familiar with workflow that does this?

As a medical student, I come up against a lot of words in my studies that I have no idea how to pronounce. Before Alfred, I would open Safari, go to www.howjsay.com and copy/paste the word into their search bar. With Alfred, I've been able to set up a custom howjsay search that includes that whole {query} replacement thing. I was wondering if there was a way to set up a workflow that makes use of currently selected text to do the same search on howjsay. I thought that maybe instead of using {query} there would be a trigger for selected text, but I haven't been able to find anything. Any thoughts?
