    Alfred using tiff is for historic compatibility reasons (as this is raw image data which is given to Alfred in the clipboard).

    I'll add an internal ticket to investigate if improvements can be made in this area

    Thanks to @giovanni for doing the hard work on CodeCase.  I just used FileMerge to see what he did, and replicated it here.

    Ah I was on VPN before, now it's only 10s, and without thumbnails 3s. I still prefer without thumbnails though. Thanks

    gandalfsaxe got a reaction from khit in Show snippet keyword in snippet keyword search
    Hi,

    I sometimes forget the keyword for a snippet, but when I search for it with the snippet keyword (default is "snippet" I think), it only shows the snippet in a one-liner, not the keyword, so I never learn the keyword unless I look it up in Alfred Preferences or invoke the Snippet Viewer Hotkey. I'd love to be able to see the snippet keyword if I held in e.g. ⌘ key.

    PS: This is largely resolved by using the "Snippet Viewer Hotkey" instead of "Snippet Keyword", but I'd be nice to have both places.

    OK, clear, thanks Andrew!

    Maybe in the future it would make sense to just let the user explicitly choose this on importing (and maybe showing him which shortcut keys will be created and if there are any conflicts?)

    gandalfsaxe got a reaction from Rad in Any way search & open a folder in SAME Finder window?
    Ah sorry @vitor, I read your post too fast and thought you suggested System Preferences -> Dock -> Prefer tabs when opening document -> Always

    I now remember why this particular setting was a no-go for me:
    If I have multiple SublimeText windows open, and I relaunch the app, all windows are combined within one, meaning that I have two levels of tabs open. This is actually a really cool feature, if it was supported by SublimeText, but it isn't. This means that I have no way of recombining separate windows except for relaunching the app, cause *all* windows to recombine.

    As for:
    Finder Preferences → General → (tick) Open folders in tabs instead of new windows.
    - unfortunately, this doesn't even work for me. It makes no difference how this setting is set; Finder will always open folders in a new windows, regardless of whether I use Spotlight search or Alfred. Does it work for you?

    It would be great that setting the Alfred Hotkey would distinguish between the left and right keys. Some applications do, in my case I'm using Emacs and a default key binding is assigned to CTRL+SPACE (which I currently use for Alfred), I can set my Emacs binding as RIGHT_CTRL+SPACE, and setting Alfred's shortcut to LEFT_CTRL+SPACE would be ideal.

    gandalfsaxe reacted to morocons in Open current URL in Different Browser?
    Here's a workflow that contains an AppleScript that grabs the current URL in Safari, opens it in Chrome, then closes the existing tab in Safari. I use it with a hotkey. It's my understanding that Firefox support for AppleScript is wonky at best, so I'm not sure how one would go about doing what you're looking for (in Alfred, at least).

    Here you are. I've tried to extract the titles, too. You should be able to search on the title or the citekey, and then use ↩ to copy the citekey or ⌘↩ to copy the citekey and paste it into the active application.

    You have to set the path to your BibTeX file in the workflow's configuration screen (it's currently pointing at the included sample file):

    gandalfsaxe reacted to jdfwarrior in Launch apps hidden?
    I haven't tested this but, it appears that there is an option on the "open" terminal command that will launch apps either in the background OR hidden.
    ::open -- Usage: open [-e] [-t] [-f] [-W] [-R] [-n] [-g] [-h] [-b <bundle identifier>] [-a <application>] [filenames] [--args arguments] Help: Open opens files from a shell. By default, opens each file using the default application for that file. If the file is in the form of a URL, the file will be opened as a URL. Options: -a Opens with the specified application. -b Opens with the specified application bundle identifier. -e Opens with TextEdit. -t Opens with default text editor. -f Reads input from standard input and opens with TextEdit. -F --fresh Launches the app fresh, that is, without restoring windows. Saved persistent state is lost, excluding Untitled documents. -R, --reveal Selects in the Finder instead of opening. -W, --wait-apps Blocks until the used applications are closed (even if they were already running). --args All remaining arguments are passed in argv to the application's main() function instead of opened. -n, --new Open a new instance of the application even if one is already running. -j, --hide Launches the app hidden. -g, --background Does not bring the application to the foreground. -h, --header Searches header file locations for headers matching the given filenames, and opens them. These are the command line switches for the open command..

    Given this, it appears that you could create a workflow with a Run Script item and then tell it each application to launch using "open" and passing either the -j or -g option and launch the apps in their desired state.

    Exmaple:
    open -j /Applications/TextEdit.app

    Get the workflow from GitHub.

    Usage

    fake [<query>] — List/filter available fake data types ↩, ⌘+C or ⌘+NUM — Copy one fake datum to clipboard ⌘+↩ — Paste fake datum into frontmost app ⇥ — Specify number of datasets to copy to clipboard ⌘+L — Show generated data in Alfred's Large Text window fakeconfig [<query>] — Activate and deactivate locales for fake data ↩ — Toggle selected locale on or off If you specify multiple data, e.g. fake Name 〉 10 for 10 names, the data
    will be separated by newlines (\n).

    In the case of Paragraph and Address types, the data will be separated
    by two newlines (\n\n).

    gandalfsaxe got a reaction from robgill in Case Converter (including Title Case) - now working on MacOS 12.3
    I prefer keyboard shortcut to a keyword for this workflow, but I can see why others would prefer keyword.

    I use Cmd+Ctrl+Opt+Shift (yes all modifier keys) +
    * L (lower case)
    * U (upper case)
    * S (sentence case - but I almost never use this)
    * T (title case)

    In the beginning it felt a little like doing finger gymnastics (I use little, ring, middel and thumb for the four modifiers on the left, and index on right hand for the letter), but I've gotten used to it now. On the other hand, the heavy use of modifier keys, it never interferes with anything ?

    Anyway just for inspiration. Regarding your question, isn't it just a matter of connecting all the python scripts in the workflow to an Input -> Keyword, and then making the keyword titles that you want? See attached screenshots.

    For anybody who wants the image file to save as a new file rather than replace the original:
    Open the "Process image(s)" AppleScript block in the workflow Find this line in the script: save this_image in myPath And insert the following to append the image filename with the target width (e.g. image.png becomes image-300.png when resized to 300px width):
    -- append target width to file name set oldDelim to AppleScript's text item delimiters set AppleScript's text item delimiters to {"."} set theExt to last text item of myPath set AppleScript's text item delimiters to {"." & theExt} set file_path_list to every text item of myPath set AppleScript's text item delimiters to {"-" & target_width & "." & theExt} set myPath to the file_path_list as string set AppleScript's text item delimiters to oldDelim
